It's not that they pronounced it wrong, it's just English (particularly its American-used variant) syntax and accent coming across. Not really any different than the many bands that sing in English with heavy accents, they aren't neccessarily saying it wrong, but 20+ years of pronouncing letters one way makes it very difficult to pronounce them the way a native speaker would.

You misunderstand. I'm talking about accents, natural accents that EVERYONE has no matter what their native language is. Very few people can overcome these twists of the tongue without significant effort, as they're ingrained from birth. There are of course some Germans who speak clear English, just as there are English-speakers with a good grasp of German. But by and large accents are always going to result in mispronunciation, I've heard plenty of bands butcher the English language as well.
