Holy crap, I booked them for this show. I didn't know any video existed of it. I'd love to see if there are more from my senior center shows. Juno and Waxwing played this show too. Excellent bands.
Hands down, We Have the Facts and We're Voting Yes, is the BEST album DCFC has ever made, and what better way to start off such an epic album with Title Track?
This has always been my favorite song of theirs. I remember exactly where i was when i heard the kick-in midway through for the first time - soooo good! so cool to see such an early live version.
Man, you can really hear the evolution of Ben's vocal style when you compare this to other live versions that were recorded later on in his career. He sings with much more chest voice than he did in his 20s. That boyish charm faded long ago lolz.
I agree to an extent. But I really believe he could/can still do that same vocal style. Whether or not it would be fitting for their evolution is a different story, though. Much love to my fellow DCFC fans!
@@auto_5 Oh I’m certain he could still sing in his old breathier, head voice-heavy tone. When I posted this I was probably thinking about how much rarer it is to hear it. I’ve just noticed more emphasis on his chest voice since around Narrow Stairs days 🤘❤️
The guitar is an '82 brown sunburst Fender Bullet made in Fullerton, California. It has a smaller "Stratocaster style" body with a Telecaster neck. The guitars were made from left over Fender parts, which they used up before closing the Fullerton factory.
Throwback to when Ben didn't know how to raise his mic stand

I clung on to this song 20 years ago, and still have not let go…

Agreed, wholeheartedly!
They were all so young!

I never thought I'd see a live version of this, one of my favourite Death Cab songs. Thanks for sharing!
nine years later and you get a thumbs up
Oh man, seeing a decade old comment makes me feel melancholic
@@AllEndsInVoid decade and a half now!

What a great song!!!
this song is brilliant
The build up to 2:51 will always be one of my favourites. Love how Bens voice softens ever so nicely!
One of the best live videos I've ever found on TH-cam.
my fav album 🤓🦭
Hey, thank you SO very much for uploading this and sharing it with the world! This was my favorite album when I was in college! ❤🔥
This is magic
wow this is faultless. one of their best songs aswell, thanks for uploading
Very very thank you!
I was looking for a "old video" from them!!!!
Thanks for posting this
3:08 makes me think that the wrong take was put on the album. He sings it even like this on later performances. The way he sings "into" is so nice...
Still their best song
I'm probably 100 of those 32000 views
this is GOLD
Very true.
Won’t see much of a bigger flex than a strat with the tele neck
That’s G&L for you.

Might be the oldest youtube video I've stumbled across
oh boy, from when earth was a good place.
This was recorded one day before my 6th birthday :) can't overstate how important this album has been to my life
"the facts" is definitely their best album, though "you can play these songs with chords" is up there. Were you at this show?
