epic guitar solo.... Malkmus the master genius. This perfomance was the peak. SM knew that it didn't last forever like that. Best moment to split up.... still sad anyway
Hayden Courtney yes it is, and lots of their songs were in standard tuning. But I did enjoy some of their open C and G tunings on occasion. Grounded is pretty bizarre also...
I remember watching this when it aired and loving it (still love it). There was an interview segment where Malkmus was talking about how they were a "90's" band, and they were "living it up these last few months". I was so sad that they called it quits after this album, it's a great one!
When you go to live taped performances like this, Austin City Limits, etc. they always tell the audience to not make a whole lot of noise during the songs.
thank you so much for posting all of these videos, i appreciate it. i'm so excited to see them. about 11 months to go! archers of loaf also played on reverb but only one of their videos is on youtube...you don't happen to have any more of those do you? thanks again
Capistrano swallow, answer to your inner voice And please return, God installed that radar in your pointy little beak So you'd return. Epileptic surgeons with their eyes x'ed out Attend to the torn up kid. Salivate and reckon with all the sick things That you did. The secondary stumbles cause the cadence of the count Has lead them astray, Pray their intuition leads them crashing into bodies In a perfect way. But I, I saw you reeling in a parking lot, I, I saw you rallying round a parking lot, Line up for the comfort and kick it on the bumper, Know (no?) there is no leeway You're standing on the freeway in love, Motion, you were destined for the paupers grave. Architecture students are like virgins With an itch they cannot scratch, Never build a building till you're 50 What kind of life is that? Stalled out on an escalator Wishing which way to return up or down, My Palestinian nephew got his face blown off In a dusty craft.
Not sure whether you’re being sarcastic, but it should go without saying that they sounded nothing like the fall at this point, and any noticeable influence significantly depreciated after CR.

Great track off a great album. God, i miss the 90's
At around 4:19 it's one of those great moment where they are just all in the moment playing totally together.
Energy of the Brighten version combined with the arrangement of the Twilight version.....this is the one

They're back
..and one of my favorite guitar solos ever...
Sooo awesome. I wish there were this level of intensity in the breakdown on the studio version.
stream of consciousness lyrics, odd tunings and dissonant intervals - fuck I love this band
Pretty sure this is the rare pavement jam in standard tuning.
Hayden Courtney yes it is, and lots of their songs were in standard tuning. But I did enjoy some of their open C and G tunings on occasion. Grounded is pretty bizarre also...
The tuning on "Fight this Generation" was one of my favorites, C I think.

saw those guys many times in the 90's , as well as sonic youth , Blonde redhead , and more
this album is peak pavement
All of Pavement's Reverb performance was epic. This is just the pure peak of it. Maybe with another peak being Conduit for Sale.
My favourite song. Forever. And ever.
100%
My favourite Pavement Live Performance.
Just the rhythm of the guitar wow
So far this is my favorite Pavement song
Great group..
i cannot believe that they didn't at least put major leagues on as well. that is no doubt one of the best things they've ever done

They did a better version at Roseland that I saw live. I've been searching for it ever since to no avail.
Malkmus guitar heroism at 4:00

Glad you agree.
