    The Toyota Corolla is a fairly normal car nowadays. Ever since the platform went from a sports car to a commuter not much has been done with them. However with the past generations Puerto Rico has taken full advantage of the car's light weight and large engine bay. This Turbocharged Tacoma swapped Toyota Corolla is a perfect example of the effort and imagination of the car enthusiasts of Puerto Rico, and they thrown down up at World Cup Finals in Maryland every year with engine swaps from everything you can imagine. Rotary Corollas,2JZ Corollas,K24, and so much more cover the island of Puerto Rico. Thanks for watching!

      ThatDudeinBlue i’ve actually owned two! Most fun, slowest, simplest, go-kart in the world that got 40mpg. There’s a very good, but not very well known corolla community in the us. And you can pretty much swap everything out with Ae86 parts

    Alejandra is a translating goddess amongst us all. The duality going on here of them exploring her motherland and peoples with the car culture there along with her joyful willingness to play along and consistently support David’s automotive interests is beautiful to watch. @emretk 5 ปีที่แล้ว +26

      Varg Sutton Yeah, a language that David himself doesn’t speak, which thus grants him the ability to broadcast beyond his already 1 million plus subscribers. It’s a sweet, lighthearted compliment. And it’s still praised in this day and age because it’s simply important, it matters, and is the foundation of a successful relationship (when far more than your clearly limited life experience could fathom are surreptitiously bound by wealth and/or status). Their bond is evidently organic. If you’ve been in enough of them you’d know, “buddy”. Stop looking for reasons to be a hating negative dipshit and grow up, child.

    There was one line that Ivan said that everyone in Puerto Rico owns one of these Corollas or wants one, and I agree. These cars are held dearly in the hearts of Puerto Ricans, whether they love cars or not, because it's a lot more than A to B transportation or even the thrill of driving. It's memories, and while yes, you can make memories in any car, the Corolla unites Puerto Ricans, it's a common ground between your memories and mine.

    These were EVERYWHERE in the states when i was growing up, I even had an 82 Corolla in 1992... But at even 10 years old it was riddled with holes from structural rust. Its sad but that's what happened to all these awesome 70's and 80's Japanese cars... They rusted out and no one appreciated them enough to save them. This one is an amazing example, and i love how cars can be a common language bringing people together!

    This reminds me of our former Car.. very same which we called it as Toyota Corolla DX 1981 model and it was a 4 door here in Philippines. my dad and mom had problems with that vehicle in the 90's which they bought it from a friend whom they met in a seminar. I thought that was really my favorite until it was given to our relative until they where forced to sell it with my mom and dad's approval.

    The 2r/3rz can make ALOT of power. Popular swap in 4x4 Toyota pickups

    • @benjamindavidson632
      @benjamindavidson632 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You know I looked up what power levels they are capable of a few years ago and everyone said not much. I thought it would be a great swap for my 99 nb + boost ofcourse and I left the web pages feeling let down hahaha. I owned a 2001 single cab 4x4 5 speed and after years of driving it as a daily because I had other toys I decided to start beating it a bit and then I gave it a 3 inch lift and fix shock and pulled my 35x12.50s of my crawler and put them on just for fun. The clearance.... well there was none but I let the wheels and tires beat there way into the body hahaha. Well long long story shortend that 2.7 was so impressive and would do standing burnouts on pavement with the 35x12.50s swampers and never let me down

    This made my day I might get one of this soon or an 86. In Puerto Rico this chassis goes really cheap you can get one rusty from $900 to $1,500 stock motor 3t, in good condition could go up to $5,000 and with a rotary 13B swapped motor and perfect condition up to $8,000-$12,000

    I have an 81 corolla 4 dr sedan, (custom white with white bumpers & white grille), with weber carb, msd coil, pace setter header, cat delete, race ready side cutout exiting out the custom body kit, magnaflow muffler, monroe suspension, 14" white pizza cutter mags, jsp aluminum wing, and a 7" touch screen. It's in my garage but when I was driving it, it was so loud it would set off car alarms. My other 2 are 96 sc400 and 98 cherokee.
