this one i think was my favorite of the 3 interviews posted---he seems to be the most relaxed and the most chill here. Hey Slave...I shrunk the kids...that was pretty funny.
Sadly, he quit the movie because of his wife's illness. His wife died the same year City Slickers came out. Daniel Stern was a great bit of casting as his replacement though. He nailed the, "He ate bacon at every meal. You can't do that." line. Only saw the movie once and I still remember the line.
It's a shame he quit the business, but understandable due to family circumstances. He was definitely on a Billy Crystal type trajectory, someone witty, charismatic, a person I could easily see hosting emmy/oscar types of events. I hope he makes a comeback.
Like most popular comedians of the '80s, his movie career fizzled in the '90s with lots of flops. I doubt he was being offered much money to make new movies anymore by the time he quit.
He was cast in City Slickers but had to drop out when his wife got sick. Daniel Stern replaced him. Ricks wife passed in 1991 and he dedicated his life to raising his kids. Nothing could be more rewarding than raising your children but you can’t help but wonder what Rick could have done in films. He was really, really, really funny.
Kind of sad. He mentions his wife during the interview. He actually left City Slickers because of his wife's cancer diagnosis. Heck he pretty much retired from acting after that. He seems like such a cool guy, and he is funny as all get out.
Hunter Skowron is like to know too, i can only imagine he was calling back a story dave must have told in the intro about an incident he had in the elevator of the WTC. If anyone can link me to the opening of the show i’d appreciate it.
So according to Rick, the Japanese language has no terms of endearment, and no word for parenthood. Was he studying comparative linguistics with Professor Ronnie Reagan? The Gipper actually claimed the Russian language had no word for "freedom".

Thank you, Rick for mentioning Spaceballs at least once! I bow to you
He's so awesome :)
I really miss this guy =)
Me too, he was amazing in movies.
Thank you!
I had no idea Rick Moranis was supposed to be in City Slickers. Sad he wasn't in it. He would've been great!

I just love how they have the commercial
I love him

@@jedijones I'm not sure about that. It's known that his wife died and he deliberately scaled back to a very high extent to take care of his children.
that was a badass coors light commercial
that was an ironically bizarre joke to open with.
Woot Woot!
Plummeted 90 stories at the WTC. Spooky.
I wish I would of went inside to see how they looked before they were destroyed.

Rick Moranis is so mysterious. He's the best.
Gotta say, as much as I love the Coors brand for its history, their ads are especially bad.
his comment about the twin towers caught me off guard
They wouldn't last long in NY.
Anyone else feel like a beer?

Wait... Rick was supposed to be in City Slickers???
Whatever do u mean, Dave? Spaceballs' great!!!
Ok then... To answer the question NO I wouldn't have because I don't generally do the "blow" thing. Lol
I will not hear another word against Spaceballs!
Me too!
i gotta coors light after seeing this
Sexy Coors Light commercial takes the win lol.
Can someone explain the whole elevator WTC thing???

I think he's cute

Nobody noticed he was talking how City Slickers - which he wasnt in - and has never been associated with. Wonder what happened.

He left because he's a single father (wife passed away) and it was hard to take care of his kids and traveling for acting so he decided to leave.
1990 right?
@BehindCurtain1 yes. its very sad about his wife.
I never knew Rick Moranis was supposed to be in City Slickers. I wonder what happened.
Wait, he wasn’t in City Slickers
He dropped out of production when his wife got sick.
HE WAS GOING TO BE IN CITY SLICKERS!?
Yes
what year is this from?
TheHasmith99 1990
City Slickers!!!!!! I guess it got delayed and Moranis walked out, so Daniel Stern must have taken the role. Fascinating!!!!!
His wife got cancer so he had to drop out.
Norm Appleton woooooooow, so THAT when Moranis’ poor wife contracted cancer. TOO BAD!!!!!
That is a weird and inappropriate question, probably just for a trolling attempt. I respectfully decline to answer. :)
I'd heard he had to pull out because of exhaustion.
Anyone else here because of trisha paytas?
lol me
his wife had liver cancer so he had to say no
