Regarding the back to medieval times, depending on when, they'd have a concept of guns. I mean, even in the early middle ages they had early forms of canons. Even if they didn't they'd understand the object you're holding was the reason it killed the person you shot. They might be completely awestruck at how the mechanism worked, and you might get a peasant or two who thinks it's magic, but medieval people weren't stupid either.
big misconception people have for some godforsaken reason is that medieval people were stupid. no they were just as smart as modern humans, just have had less time to figure out things and less people were taught in schools

I wouldn't recommend a pistol for the medieval era because medieval armor is actually known in some cases to be thick enough and angled enough to bounce low caliber bullets and even stop certain rifle caliber rounds.

small arms would not be recommended because while really convenient to carry you are quite right in that atleast late medieval times (around 1400ish and up) guns (arquebus) existed and armor was currently being geared towards protecting against guns. the whole big thing with armor at the time was that muskets and such were becoming more frequent on the battlefield and therefor full coverage in plate wasnt ideal anymore since you were starting to need heavier and heaver armor. they started to reduce the amount of coverage in exchange for thicker plate so that it could stop bullets while still keeping atleast the most important parts covered
I’m pretty certain most pistol calibers above a .22 LR would defeat medieval era armor, most offer better velocity, have better shaped projectiles, and are using a far better propellant than the firearms that led to the obsolescence of plate armor.

that "bring gun with you if you traveled back in time" bit, there's two seasons of this anime that's basically this (it's called Gate), it's rather "hilarious" how they use modern weapons against knights and such (they even take down a dragon with some c4 and rocket launchers), the anime is basically a glorified add for the JSDF (the manga author is an ex-JSDF), which makes it even more hilarious
He disclosed that the hotel in Spain he was staying at just recently opened at that time. Also, IE said he was 14 or 15 years old. A while ago, I did find that specific hotel online. It opened in either 2004 or 2005, which would place IEs birth year as either 1990 or 1991.

Muncipality built all those places in such janky ways you literally need to get conveyed in and out of it if you want to go someplace during your lifetime. Upsides: You can literally fast travel underground without paying for a ticket since some stations cover up vast areas.
