love my fuji gfx 50sii! Such a killer camera for portraits and just to slow down and take photos in a creative way for me! I actually did some self-portraits recently for a video and just loved the process!
God bless you for this review! I was looking for a 32-64 review like this for years! I think there are only 2 or 3 portrait review of this underrated lens. And you shown all the points I was expecting , especially how f4 on medium format is totally enough in terms of background rendering or just in terms of bokeh. I think it can be an all-around first gfx lens, then add the 110 f2 or the 80 after .
I would love to see a comparison between the GFX and X-T5. I love both of them. Btw this lens is F4, but in fullframe world it's equivalent to F3 and also the 3D depth from medium format makes the magic. Great video, thanks.
There's no such thing as medium format look. Full frame has the option of shallower depth of field than medium format. You can generally match the look of a medium format image with equivalent lenses on ANY sensor format.
@@Rocky_KO Actually the concept of a 'medium format lok' is a common misconception. There is no characteristic of medium format which can be visually observed besides a potential increase in resolution. Why do you think there IS a medium format look?
I have the GFX100s, I love the GF lenses though I don't own the 32-64 F4. I do however have the 45-100 F4 which is another great GF Lens. Great images you shoot!
@@MitchLally i think $800-900$ is more reasonable. but then again it has to cover a medium format sensor, so it means more glass… So I get it in a way.
@@MitchLally close focusing distance and the aspect ratio plays a role in composition i think, i love your presets bro, works even with jpg. can't wait to support you with your courses.
Cheers Mitch! Great work as usual👌🏽 I happen to own this lens and it is spectacular, it renders so beautiful images. Just a small detail, applying the crop factor of x0.79 to its f4 aperture it’s equivalent to almost f3.2 in full frame terms 🤓 Lovely bokeh 👏🏽

After your intro, the next clip was you loading film. I paused the vid and went to get my GFX… couldn’t believe I’ve missed that film door. 😂😂
Glad you found it! 😂
These files and your presets go along very well!
Looks so good bro! This was such a fun day.
Brilliant!
You are out there shooting things while some others sit in their makeshift studios and chat pixels! 😅
Keep it rolling buddy! 👏👏👏
That’s my goal- more of this!
Wow !!! What an army ! Tank camera body + tank lens...?! ARMY ! Cheers mate !

Sick as always!!
Its wonderful, very minor differences with film, you nailed it! May I ask with presets did you use for this shoot ?

Would you say the same thing between a Pentax 6x7 vs a Canon R5 ?
@@definingslawek4731 Medium format look isn't only about shallow depth of field. It's a common misconception to think it is.

@@definingslawek4731 It's obvious you haven't shot with large format or even medium format, otherwise you wouldn't have said that.
Balmoral? What a lovely place. I was there last weekend.

I heard that one is great also.

Mitch I am going to try this with my Sigma 17-70mm F2.8-F4 on my Nikon D5500
Hey Mitch
Love the video !!
How have you been finding the GFX and the X line autofocus for portraits?
Nice pictures. I wish I didn't sell my 32-64mm. DoF wise it is a bit < 1 stop between FF and GFX, not the 2 stops.
Yeah it’s 1 stop.
0.73x crop factor (4:3 taken into account).
So 2.8 on ff (f4 on gfx (
Dude these are amazing, killed it!
Beautiful work Mitch
sold me at dof is similar to 28-70f2
Perfect photos, except that the shot scale might ve been more varied. Your shots mostly are medium shot or close up
Look on a backstage feels more pro and consistent than photo from camera with this presets
How’s the face tracking I. Single point mode for portrait ? How’s the shutter after pressing the button when shooting ?
having a GFX50R I’m really interested in this lens as my first GF lens. but the price… 😩
I agree, the price is hefty. I was able to get this one used for $1200 USD :)
@@MitchLally you gotta admit though, for a standard zoom at F4 $1200 is still outrageous
What should it cost?

Even with the crop factor apply, it is around f3. So shouldn’t it be compared to the sony 24-50 f2.8?
Looks a bit shallower than 2.8 to me when I put the two side by side.

Does anyone know how this lens compares to the GF 35-70 for portraits?

Try actually comparing it to full frame at f2 instead of just doing the maths!
We would like you label the pictures with info, thanks.
