    I run the pre 96 Q45 diff, with 350z axles.. bolts up fine, and retains factory S13 hubs. Plus the gearing is identical to the Manuel gear for a CD009 car.

      Did you just get the stock q45 Diff Stubs modified

      No, the older Q45 diffs came with 6x1 stubs. Z axles bolt to it, and spline into stock 240 hubs..
      compression length plays an issue on stock S13 subframe, height, LCA etc.

    Powertrain industries makes a companion flange to run a standard u joint on an r230.

    R32 GTR's use an R200 diff not R230. Yes they have 6 bolt front flange but they are still R200.
    The diff you show in this looks more like a Z32 300zx R230

    Theyre 32, not 30 spline, but good one.
    What would be amazing is some aftermarket axle (shafts) or a solution that doesnt use the wonky DSS spacer and VAG 108mm CV

    iirc the z32 tt also comes with an r230, i dont remember the final drive ratio but the viscous lsd is crap in it, i think kaaz still makes a clutch type carrier for it.

    great info bro, how about the bigger size of the r230 housing? Have you tried mounting it into the subframe? Ive always wondered about the r230 working cause of the bigger size housing. I just got my 300zx tt axles and q45 axles for 90-95 q45 3.54 diff swap. 1996 q45 got 3.69 and lost 6 bolt axle snubs for the 5 bolts. I looked for 300zxtt driver side axle for so long. I never noticed info about r32 axles working. so thank you again for the info. Also the drive shaft shop makes the cv shaft center bar so you can just buy a reman set of 90-95 q45 axles and change the pass side to work with the correct length. Im building my second ls2 240sx. Its s14 this time around. Im gonna give your cd009 adapter a try rather than the t56. Im not liking my t56 in my ls1s13 its like shifting a truck. I be hitting your web site up in next few weeks. thank you again

    Great info, but I cant see you confirm which covers will fit the 350z differential, I am mounting one in my 1jz rx7 fd, but am at the stage of either welding a second stub onto the stock differential cover unless their is a off the shelf budget option. As you mentioned information is so spread out even three years later

      our differential cover that we machined out fits the 350Z differential, and has a few different patterns in it here:

    I’ve got some 350z axles that I was going to use the Villains adapters for. If I heard you right, the 350z axles didn’t fit properly? I’ve got a CD009 going into my s14 and figured it would be a wise thing to do because I had the axles, what do think about those adapters? Hope to see you guys on track again soon!

    So if I use a Q45 I can change the back plate of the differential to the z31 and the U-joint shaft for the drive shaft to the z31 and it will fit directly in my 87 z31 cradle what drive shaft would I use to directly bolt up

    hello bro how are you i need your little help....
    i have crown 1994 model with 2jz vvti 3 coil engine with 4 forwad 8wire gear ..
    kindly tell me which diffrential is best for pick and fuel effeciant?

      @CollinsGarage_Crett_Bollins  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not sure if the Crown chassis is compatible with the SC chassis differential, but if they are you should get the 2001 SC430 differential and that should have a good ratio for daily driving.

    hello am running the last diff on the video i think its r230 on the s14 .... my problem is the driver side axles 350z axle is too tight there is no center play at all if the car on jacks there is clicking play only ... passenger side is fine there is like 20 to 30mm play on ground .... any ideas what to do guys?

      With a welder and some plates is the cheapest way, or purchase a professional Spool for the inside.

    So I have and r32 gtst with the r200 that has a 4 bolt pattern for mounting. Now would that diff cover swap to a 350z diff to make it work on the gtst ?

    • @CollinsGarage_Crett_Bollins
      @CollinsGarage_Crett_Bollins  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That actually would be a possibility for you if it is an R200 carrier, and the front of the R32 subframe is the same as the S13.

    Could i use 98 q45 diff and do you know whats neede to make this happen ?

  • @Jahoo89
    @Jahoo89 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    i bought an LSD diff from an R32 wich has no ABS... my S13 (180sx) has a welded ABS diff, both seme to be R200 but the R32 diff is 5x1 bolt and my s13 diff is 3x2, even if the flanges would swap directly over the R32 diff itself is shorter... ive been on forums past couple of months and came over this video, any tips? thanks maybe all the internals swap over? can i extent the non abs diff somehow? appreciate any reply

    • @CollinsGarage_Crett_Bollins
      @CollinsGarage_Crett_Bollins  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is a difference between the ABS and Non-ABS length. the mounting points for the Front two bolts and the rear cover is in the same position however, meaning they don't make two different subframes for the non-abs versus the ABS cars.

      @@CollinsGarage_Crett_Bollins so an internal swap from one to the other will work?
