Realistic? 😄 You are either tone deaf or beginner. I have tried TH-U a lot and it sounds very simple and not very convincing. The feeling when I play is horrible. Software like Amplitube and Guitar Rig is way much better and accurate. Not to mention the feel in your fingers when you play. BIAS FX isn't that bad either but not as good as the other two.
@@thomasanderson9202 I just got the TH-U this evening. For 29 euro you get the TH-U free if you buy a library. I think that's a pretty cool deal. I use my own pedals mostly but I think is a nice to have as well.
@@thomasanderson9202 dude, sorry but you suck at getting a good tone, or your setup is something like Harley benton and irig HD2.Guitar rig, haha pure gold.
Another great feature is the “Scenes” the ABCD up the top. I set A with a really clean amp the B with a different profile with a little more gain. I can then use the FCB1010 to kick between the different amps. Good fun. I do like your videos. Tony
I can't use the scenes with the Rig Player... If I choose a model in scene A and another model in scene B it is always the last chosen model that stays on scenes A and B.... Can you help me? Thanks
That was a great demo video! Thank you for that! I've never really messed with the Rig Player thingy on my Overloud THU-Slate Edition. This has definitely inspired me to mess around with it! 😎👍
'hey, how would you say it compares to the Neural and Tonex stuff. I saw you made a video with the Tonex, and is one im eyeing. I have a kemper which Im loving more than the THU, but I love the workflow of a plugin.
I think is pretty close to ToneX & Neural…it feels great to play…and some of the captures are amazing…you do have to buy them separately but you can try them out for free! All up I like it a lot…the George Lynch stuff sounds really good too!!
Great video! Quick question, I don’t see you wearing headphones, and you can also hear your own “effected” sound through TH-U. How are you preventing feedback of the guitar, bleeding through your microphone? As I understand it, for me and others to hear my effected sound through an amp sim like TH-U and my voice in a mic, headphones prevent that feedback/echo or bleeding my guitar sound into the microphone. Please explain or teach me how you’re doing it, and the audio interface, mic, speaker setup you’re using. Cheers!
I’ve had a few people ask me about that so I might just do a video about it sometime soon! I hear my guitar through my studio monitors - a pair of Yamaha HS8 monitors. My Microphone records my voice and I later automate the volume of the mic - so when I speak the volume is up and when I play the volume of the mic is off. The mic itself is muted from the output in Logic so there are no issues with feedback - as in I don’t hear my voice coming out of my studio monitors but it’s recording it to a track in Logic! I guess headphones could possibly make it easier for me but in the end I’d probably want to edit out the acoustic sound of my pick hitting the strings anyways so I’d have to automate it either way! I hope that helped…but I will try to make a video about my setup very soon!
@@TSFAHTPS Now, that makes sense, you mute the mic when playing guitar. Do you mute the speakers when you mic is “live?” I’m not clear on how the automation works, unless you’re using a MIDI controller. Thanks for being so quick to reply and share the knowledge.
@@eddiefay66 that’s all done after I film the video! While I film the video all that comes out of the speakers is the guitar sound through the plugin! I record the guitar in Logic on one track and the microphone, which is muted and doesn’t come out of the speakers on a second track…then once I finished filming I edit the audio by turning the volume of the mic up when I talk and down when I play guitar…then once all of that is finished I take the mixed audio and add it to the video…that’s all done in Final Cut!
@@eddiefay66 yeah that wouldn’t work with Zoom or for online lessons! I did online lessons during the pandemic lockdowns and I used headphones for that! You could possibly use a gate but that wouldn’t be very practical either

I am not sure but the software that Steve from Boston must be the most realistic software as you can hear directly in his videos. I came to know that it is actually TH U but I don’t hear that organic great clarity even in distorted sounds in this video, it may very well be Steve’s set up and playing. My suggestions is that try it before you buy it . Otherwise great demo is from a good guitarist.
I’m not really sure Robert...I can only find their “Premium” version which is everything and that’s currently €269...I wonder if there is a non premium version available somewhere?!?
Hey Gabor late to the party with this vid, catching up on vids. But WOW! Don’t think there was a single bad setting these all sound amazing be it clean or dirty. Really impressive bit of kit 😎💁🏻♂️🎸🎛
Hey Rob...it is pretty impressive...and there is another thing that comes with it that I still haven’t looked at called SuperCabinet...which is supposed to be a really impressive IR plugin too
Awesome sounds my friend. This is my favorite plugin. The sounds that we are listening are coming from DIRECT recording or they are coming from your mic which is recording the monitor speakers sound in the room? Thanks!
Thank you very much! The sounds you hear are direct sounds I recorded in Logic. I always automate the volume on my mics audio in post so that you only hear the direct sound and none of the room sound in my mic!
@@TSFAHTPS Wow! thanks for info my friend. I thought I was hearing your string noise/pick noise and assumed it's coming from the room mic. Well, if the sound is coming directly from your recording only, then it's a fantastic song. Love your videos. Thanks!
I have THU. I'm still mad they had me pay $200 for the upgrade from TH3 which was largely just a way of selling me their over prices impulse responses. I won't buy anything from this company anymore
Did you go with the upgrade price that you can get? I upgraded from Th2 for €69 and i notice you can upgrade from TH3 for €49 .. definitely worth it to me
Very cool. I'm comparing digital rigs, and this one seems as good or better than any I've seen. On a related note, I'm curious about the ethics of modelling/profiling, and what the reaction would be if a builder installed 'anti-profiling' software on their pedal or amp (if that's even possible). It seems a little different than cloning a pedal or amp, but I'm not exactly sure how...(personally, I'm pretty neutral on the morality of it, but I'm curious to see what others think) One last thing, you've totally sold me on Fishman pickups. Those sound and look amazing. Hope your families are safe and healthy!
Well…you could say that about any amp that’s not clean! They are amp sims that range from totally clean to super high gain and everything in between…and sure plug your pedal into it and use that too…
Hey fella. Just to clarify. I didn't mean your show is boring by the way or your playing. What I mean is that a lot of presets on these amp sims all seem to be just metal. Having said that, I did get a copy of TH-U because the selection of amps and speakers is really cool. For Black Friday if you buy a library you get TH-U thrown in. I got the BHS Metlx library which comes with a nice Symphonic 90 chorus. This means now that I have the TH=U player I can just get extra libraries if something comes out I like. Not bad for 29 euro. Keep doin' what yer doin' bro :)
@@agentcalm all good man!! Yeah often the presets can be leaning a bit on the high gain/metal kinda world…but there is a LOT more to it!! I should probably try to showcase more of the clean sounds too!! Thanks Xave Ryan
@@TSFAHTPS Righteous. Yeah looking forward to playing with this bro, I like the fact it also installs as a standalone as well as a VST. It means you have to open your DAW to do a bit of practice? Take a look at the demo for the BHS Metlx library. That Symphonic chorus is dope.
I believe TH-U and the Rig player is the most realistic amp sim out there
