Whether it’s a “lazy way” or “non Fijian way”, it looks yum and probs taste the same as our grandma’s would make. I like how they’ve simplified it for us non culinary masters who live in an international city that may not provide the exact ingredients our native home would. So many VaKilz in the comments. 🙄

I've never seen palusami made like this in Fiji but I'm sure it still tasted great judging by how creamy the lolo was😍😍😍
But honestly my bubu would smack us if we ever tried to use the yellow taro leaves😏😒😂 and mannnnnnn she would say the way we wrap the palusami would say a lot about us girls. So if I wrapped it like that I know I wouldn't be here today😂😂😂😂😂 We usually pile the taro leaves on top of each other from the smallest to biggest with the ends pointing in different directions. Probably using 4-6 leaves then carefully pour the lolo soko(creamy coconut milk) mixed with corned beef, onions and salt to taste. Then carefully and tightly fold in the the taro leaves to make like a little parcel and tuck in the last end to secure it. Then you wrap it again using aluminum foil.
Hope this helps someone 😊 Trust me I'm Fijian😉😊😂😂🧡

I live in Dallas now, so I have to get my palusami shipped from Hawaii for me in a Styrofoam cooler. I am always looking for ways to cook palusami that is somewhat comparable to those that are made in Hawaii, but it never taste the same. SMH I guess i'll go to my local asian market, get me some Taro leaves, and try this method out.
