One of my favorite movies. Couple corrected points, though. Mercedes wore her makeshift ring for 16 years. Edmond was in the Chateau D'if for 13 years, and then it took him an additional 3 to sail with the Spanish privateers, find Spada's gold, and build up the identity of the Count of Monte Cristo. ;)
@@indieupside Yea, no worries. :) It's one of my favorite novels and movies, so I thought you might appreciate the added detail. Really goes to show how much Mercedes continued to love Edmond.
As a grandiose adventure story by Alexander (3 MUSKETEERS) Dumas, a story that has been made into several films since the 1930's, a TV-movie mini-series, and even an Anime series, THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO has a lot to offer and the version championed here was the first one I saw (and enjoyed) in its theatrical release. I've seen most of the other adaptations of the novel and now have the book itself on my shelf -- to open and lose myself therein.
I paid a carpenter to handcraft a kings piece, with a wooden box, and gifted it to my husband with a card that said “Kings to You” for Christmas one year.
Your video skills are truly impressive! The way you capture moments and tell a story through your editing and visuals is captivating. You have a knack for making even the simplest scenes come alive, and your creativity really shines through. Keep up the amazing work; it's inspiring to see someone so passionate about their craft!
I saw the ads from it, it looks awesome! I’ll have to check it out 👍 I’m still hoping for an epic mini series that really aims to bring the book to life, there’s so much in it that would be amazing to see done right!
I saw this in the movie theater and it was ma introduction to Henry Cavill. When he blew up a few years later and people started recommending him it was really funny.
To Indie Upside: Well done. But what stuck out to me is that demographically it's absolutely accurate. For a change. Imagine another version with politically correct DEI casting. which would have been ahistorical and with e.g. Africans as some of the characters ( Dare I say) but by watching this version you get an accurate depiction of what European history was really like. Not angels by any means, sometimes monsters - but that's the point to show the human condition in all its folly as well as it's acheivements - the way it really happened. Meanwhile, in the U.S. we have a deluge of multi-racial casting which distorts or replaces accurate history with an indecipherable melange. Brainwashing by any other name and which Stalin, the CCP and the Comintern would be proud of. That may be the point for the coming Brave New World of no meritocracy but replacement out of guilt. (Maybe it's my maturity but sometimes I feel like I"m seeing what's going on from another galaxy where the planet has been replaced by lemmings. ) Maybe that's why it didn't make any money cuz the minorities here who make up a sizable portion of the movie house crowd felt 'excluded'. Too bad. Make a story about African Kings. Enfin: History - to make any sense out of it and learn some thing from it must not be re-written. Otherwise you end up IMHO with a hodge podge of a conused mess. Why isn't that kind of thing which is becoming overwhelming in the U.S. being called cultural appropriation? There's a price to be paid for the Decline of the West (Spengler). If you doubt what I'm saying come to the Apple and see some theater - even Off Off Bway - which exists in a bubble of PC brainwashing where anything but the original goes. Fair point, appreciate the correction, it’s even longer than I thought 😂

Such an underrated movie. Awesome video 😄😄
That random Hallelujah at "Jesus" made me laugh out way too loud :D
The Count of Monte Cristo is one of my favorite movies, especially the filming speed tricks they do during the fight scenes.

That is absolutely incredible, what an amazing gift! 😁
Damn what did he do to wrong you? Did you also wait 13 years to give it to him
This was me and my brother’s favorite movie as kids. It made us want to read the novel and it started our love for classic literature.
