You left out two details that I picked up through the discs. When he finishes coughing, you can hear a “shh” in the background. It’s not a creeper sound, meaning that it was possibly a SECOND person telling him to be quiet. It was too late, however, and the monsters found them. Then you can only hear one person’s footsteps, meaning that one of them could have gotten killed. When the arrow supposedly “hits it’s target” it could be killing one of the two people. I know I’m late but I wanted to put this idea out there.
I remember I was playing once, I had just watched a video about herobrine and I had just loaded up a new world, as soon. As I spawn I hear a cave noise on the surface and delete the world

Do you have any herobrine storiesnthat you or a friend experienced? I was alone in a world I had for a couple of weeks, had a small house with a basement carved out and a few chests and torches for light, far from collecting diamonds. But as I hover over my chest facing the outside of my house I see a name tag pop up like it would in multiplayer, like a little grey tag with no name as I had to get closer for the name to appear. And then I saw it shrink down like the player had crouched and the nametag disappeared. And suddenly in my 0 slot of the hotbar, a enchanted diamond sword appeared. I looked at its enchants and it was a "God sword" so I had to go see if whoever was out there was still there, and he wasnt. But I saw my nearby forrest on fire and strangely the fire only burned the leaves, and then went out on its own. This was on a single player server and has never been open to lan, so Im surprised I even have a story to tell.
Fun fact: While 13 is the same in the game as it is in the OST, 11 is completely different. Instead of being the horror that it is in the game, it's actually a nice and relaxing track in the OST.

depressed h0 when the disks came out i remember i wanted to make myself sit through the whole thing in the dark. it made me incredibly anxious and jittery all night. i was never scared of them until i forced myself to watch it in the dark and idk that just did something to me. mega fear factor..

As for my theory, I think that disc 5 comes before disc 11. When we hear disc 5, we notice that the character is walking inside caves towards the ancient cities and trying to open a portal, but he encounters the warden and tries to escape from him through the portal .... and here begins the story of disc 11 inside the portal

I tried once to find out why disc 11 was so creepy. All I could get was it was someone running away from something... Or someone. From disc 13 I got nothing, just a creepy song.

Disc 5 is a new one, but you have to reassemble the disc to make it and it has marching, cuts off in the middle, and has running, heavy breathing, and coughing, and a strange lullaby in the middle
In my eyes: Disc 11 was a character running on stone, as you said, got out a flint and steel and desperately trying to light it. As if something or SOMEONE was chasing it. After they got it to light, they jumped into a portal and realized they couldn’t get back. Out of panic they open a book to see weather or not they went somewhere safe, and in the middle of their reading an unknown entity cuts them off, killing them in the process...
i think they are trying to hide from the wither which they created by mistake (a different video was made in this) and they are in caves trying to find the stronghold they created to keep them safe
With the new-ish deep dark, the two discs may have come from that biome, giving off clues such as the warden screaming in 11 and the adventurer making too much noise, leading to his death.

It could also be the player firing arrows. Maybe that's what skeletons are, the remains of that lost civilisation, and that's why creepers drop the discs when killed by one.
What if Herobrine is one of these ancient builders that you’re talking about? He could be, other than the player, the last of his kind. Which would explain him looking like the player and not the villagers. When the builders jumped into The End to survive, he could have been the one who stayed behind and took out the Eyes of Ender from the portal frame to stop the monsters from following the rest of the builders to The End, thus saving (or so Herobrine thinks) his people..... but hey! That’s just a theory! Also, thanks for the likes! I didn’t realize this theory was that good.

Disc 11 sounds like someone building a nether portal and lighting it, then goes through, checking a book and running over (black)stone and then netherrack. Or exiting the nether for that matter
Mattpat when are you going to do a theory on ghasts. There’s an achievement in minecraft where you bring a ghast to the overworld and kill it “and the achievement description says :*rescue a ghast and bring it home, then kill it* and has mechanical parts in the bestiary. Suggesting it originates from the overworld and perhaps is made by the old builders. It also drops a tear when it dies which also suggests this. And theres also an unused ghast sound called: ghast’s affection. Likely supposed to be used when you rescue one
R Wade not to mention that in the fallen kingdom music video a skeleton shoots 3 arrows at the king before the scene where a creeper blows up the bridge and he jumps into the water.
Play the discs together and it will sound more like the old people (that maybe became endermen) running away from where they hid(mineshafts, the last spots they're on before they built the stronghold) from the monsters in the Overworld because the monsters found them and thus connecting to what happened in The End. That's just my follow up theory though 😂
Have you seen Predators? I like to think Steve and Alex are going through trials. Like when you go too far in the world it starts to mess up and when you die you just respawn. Except there’s no way out, so it’s more like a eternal prison or a place like Rekall from Total Recall. But hey but that’s just a theory, a it’s 4am and I’M TIRED THEORY.

Disc 5 is a new one, but you have to reassemble the disc to make it and it has marching, cuts off in the middle, and has running, heavy breathing, and coughing, and a strange lullaby in the middle
In my eyes: Disc 11 was a character running on stone, as you said, got out a flint and steel and desperately trying to light it. As if something or SOMEONE was chasing it. After they got it to light, they jumped into a portal and realized they couldn’t get back. Out of panic they open a book to see weather or not they went somewhere safe, and in the middle of their reading an unknown entity cuts them off, killing them in the process...
How do you explain the grass neither the end nor nether have grass

When you mention the arrow sounds at 10:25 it sounds to me a lot more like the very old dispenser sound when firing arrows
I don't think that update existed yet.
I mean if did it could take place in a jungle temple cuz they have dispenser traps and are made out of cobble
It could also be the player firing arrows. Maybe that's what skeletons are, the remains of that lost civilisation, and that's why creepers drop the discs when killed by one.
That's actually the sounds that the bows made when the game first came out.

What if Herobrine is one of these ancient builders that you’re talking about? He could be, other than the player, the last of his kind. Which would explain him looking like the player and not the villagers. When the builders jumped into The End to survive, he could have been the one who stayed behind and took out the Eyes of Ender from the portal frame to stop the monsters from following the rest of the builders to The End, thus saving (or so Herobrine thinks) his people..... but hey! That’s just a theory!

There’s an achievement in minecraft where you bring a ghast to the overworld and kill it “and the achievement description says :*rescue a ghast and bring it home, then kill it* and has mechanical parts in the bestiary. Suggesting it originates from the overworld and perhaps is made by the old builders. It also drops a tear when it dies which also suggests this. And theres also an unused ghast sound called: ghast’s affection. Likely supposed to be used when you rescue one

minor detail: the arrow sounds in 13 are actually the old arrow firing sounds, you can check on the "Removed Features" (Java Edition) page on the wiki
Play the discs together and it will sound more like the old people (that maybe became endermen) running away from where they hid(mineshafts, the last spots they're on before they built the stronghold) from the monsters in the Overworld because the monsters found them and thus connecting to what happened in The End. That's just my follow up theory though 😂
