- Kate MacLeod's Mind the Gap, a Neo-Traditional Americana band, has recorded this original song by Kate MacLeod. The band includes award-winning songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Kate MacLeod on vocals, acoustic guitar and piano, Paul Hammerton on vocals and acoustic guitar, John Bryant on vocals and acoustic bass, and Matthew Metz on vocals and mandolin.
The photographs and video footage used in this video were taken in Harpers Ferry, WV and White Post, VA.
Mind the Gap has banded together since Kate's been living part-time in Harpers Ferry, WV, looking after an elderly parent. New friends and musical avenues in the area have given Kate new inspiration, as you can hear in this inspiring love song.
Kate MacLeod's Never Looked So Good to Me Before, captures the bright and optimistic feeling of new love, that renews the soul and rejuvenates life. As with many of her songs, it began from hearing something that someone said, this time during a car ride on winding roads through green fields and sycamore trees.

LYRICS
The green grass in the fields
The white bark of the sycamore
The dry leaves from last year
That cover the forest floor
CHORUS
These roads that I have driven
The sky that’s been here every morning
This world that life has given
Has never looked so good to me before
There’s a smile on my face
That wasn’t there before I met you
Now even time has a different pace
And even my friends can see I love you
CHORUS
These roads that I have driven
The sky that’s been here every morning
This world that life has given
Has never looked so good to me before
I didn’t know that things could change
So much by being loved
By the way that you are
By the kind of love I’d only heard of
CHORUS
These roads that I have driven
The sky that’s been here every morning
This world that life has given
Has never looked so good to me before, you
