    Explanations:
    *Hamster Ball:*
    •Their toes can get stuck in the ventilation slits, breaking them.
    •They don't have enough ventilation.
    •The hamster can't stop the ball, and it can crash into walls, hurting them.
    •Hamster balls cause disorientation and stress.
    •Most hamster balls are too small.
    •Hamster balls can cause infections from urine and faeces build up.
    •They trap heat.
    There are many other reasons, but these are the main problems!
    •The lids can fall off easily, making it easy for them to escape and get lost!
    *Please don't bathe your hamster!*
    Bathing your hamster in water washes out the natural oils in their coat and can seriously harm them, as they will be extremely stressed during the process. They could also die from hypothermia! Calcium, colour and dust free reptile sand is must better to let them bathe themselves in!
    Hamsters much never be kept together, as they are solitary animals! If they are kept together, they could potentially have a lethal fight!
    Bendy bridges:
    Hamsters can get their feet or toes caught in between the gaps, which can break them. They can be used and are safe, as long as you stuff the gaps with toilet paper, bedding, or moss.

      I got a large rat cage to start with, waiting for the pet store to put aquariums on sale. Now she's in a 40 gallon breeder, and next year will be upgraded to a minimum 55 gallon, if not larger. I currently live in a small apartment so space is limited, but will be in a house next year where I can give her even more room.

    I love this video! Im a 6'5" 200lb dad that absolutely fell in love with his daughters hamster. We had her for a little over 2 years before she passed. Her passing was a lot harder for me than i thought it was going to be, i felt just as bad as losing a family member, i was absolutely distraught and im still pretty upset. I also had a hard time talking to people about this because i thought people would look at me like i was crazy for loving a hamster that much. My wife and daughter supported me through it and my daughter actually said it was the first time she had seen me cry. I was just beside myself but i quit caring what anyone thinks and I'm getting a picture of her poking out of my pocket right over my heart! I loved her and thats that, she wasnt a normal hamster, she waited on me every night the same time id walk into the room and she would jump on the enclosure wall in anticipation! I really miss that, RIP TOOT!

    When I first went to buy my hamster the shop said that they have to be sold in twos , threes or fours.
    They had also advised that I got a hamster ball, bendy bridges and they showed me a very small cage then said “this cage would be perfect for your hamster to live in”Thankfully, I had done lots of research before buying my hamster and I didn’t buy those items. I was also just looking for one hamster to prevent fighting so I had to buy him from somewhere else now it’s been a year with my little sunny, healthy friendly and happy.

    I gave my hamster a ball, before I had found out that it could potentially injure it. It loved it so much. It would get into it voluntarily, and when it wasn't around it would try to escape and climb onto the shelf which I kept the ball on, and get on top of it. It could have gotten hurt, but it never did. I think the happiness it got from it, overweighed the potential risk. I'm not saying you should give your hamster a ball, but it's not so black and white as yes or no.

      They are forbidden in some countries because of some good reasons! One point is that they are locked in them, they can't go out alone. Some panicked and died!! • @bozieduble8541
      @bozieduble8541 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I was similarly lucky with two dwarf hamsters and they grew up together in the cage just fine. But then when I put two dwarf hamsters together last year (bought from the same pet shop and tank), it was pretty clear they wouldn't get along. We got another cage the same size as the big one and separated them. They're both much more relaxed, and living stress free lives. One even likes to hang out on a platform and sit with us while we watch TV. He even watches me when I sing. Lesson learned.

      @sadmanmostofazawad5573 I've heard from people who tried that that it doesn't work. Specifically, the Odd1sOut and a few other sources from my hamster discord. New enclosures can lead to stress, and that stress could most likely cause something to snap in their brains because they feel unsafe. I wouldn't recommend it

    About the bendy bridges:
    - You can use them as walls inside your cage, in order to create terrain.
    - The rooms in between can be padded with fiber and moss. We did that with our little one, and it worked really, really well. You can also get yourself some natural glue, that is safe to eat, and glue the moss/fiber down.
    You can also do that with those wooden ladders and "weave" hemp-mats in between the rungs, so the little ham can easily traverse heights. just keep the height-limit in mind ^^

    The key is to imitate their life in the wild. They are social animals and are very active and crafty love to burrow and do splash in water to clean when dirty. As far as I know, the bendy bridges with perfectly sanded edges and that are made from straight sticks will lay flat against each other and won’t have gaps. I have a rabbit and over all the small animals such as hamsters, guinea pigs, chinchillas rats mice and bunnies are taking such bad care of by some people and people need to realize that most of these animals cannot be bathed in the water and need a lot of open room to run and not just a small cage

    Hamsters can actually be kept in the same cage but 1. The cage needs to be pretty big and 2. You need to get the hamsters used to each other by slowly introducing there sent and maybe dividing the cage in half with a glass thing with little holes

    I heard from an influencer I saw on TH-cam, that it’s better to not give hamsters anything that has the smell of meat because when u eat meat and the smell stays in ur hand they may tend to bite, is that true guys? I’m actually planning on getting two hamsters but I really need someone to explain to me properly rather than me watching several different youtubers

    • @pancakespets
      @pancakespets  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's not true at all! Hamsters know the difference between hands and food. You can give them a little bit of plain, unseasoned chicken occasionally, and it is a good source of protein. 🐹💕

      @@charvi5146 Sometimes the sellers in pet stores really don't know anything, they are just selling. Read a book about hamsters living in nature, this tells you a lot about their needs. It' s an imteresting animal, very sporty, they run a long distance every night, they love climbing. That's why they need a big cage or an old aquarium with enough space in it.
