I have the Perfect Layers guides. Got them back in my scrapbooking days and they were wonderful for matting photos. Now I use them when I need to cut something with a craft knife and need the metal edge 🙂 TFS!
Those ‘rulers’ were originally called ‘Perfect Layers’ and were from a different manufacturer. I have used them for years for scrapbooking and card making because I can’t seem to cut a straight line for anything! Just bought a new set because mine have cut marks and glue balls, etc., they have been used lovingly! Love your project!
I imagine after a while the plastic start getting lots of cuts in it! (:
It’s supposed to be -20 below tonight with feels like temperatures of -35-40. Now that’s cold. Can’t wait for spring.
I love watching your videos because you truly share your experience. I have the layering guides and sometimes I have problems feeling the groove or the paper doesn't seem to be thick enough to stay at the groove. So seeing and hearing you is very helpful.
Interesting tools,
They are!
OOh, I have those layering guides. They are great for making mat layers under an image/main focal point. I love them. I have wanted the tear rulers. Yes, just the deckle edge one. But kind of expensive if you just want one, so I just use a regular ruler and tear the paper. Junk journal makers like the tear rulers look. I do have the Tim Holtz deckle edge trimmer. It works well.
If you prefer a "cleaner" deckle edge. I suggest using the Tim Holtz deckle edge paper trimmer.
I’ve been using the original Perfect Layers guides for years! I have the We r Makers as back-up. They’re great for scrapbooking and card-making. I’ve never used them for creating layers on shapes other than squares or rectangles! So, thank you for this demo…learned another technique from a great instructor! 😊
I have a metal deckel ruler that I’ve had for years. I use it all the time and it works very well. Thin and thick papers. I love your card. Thanks for sharing. Hugs
So happy to watch your video! I had to laugh while watching ... I have those We R Layer Guides, purchased at least 4 years ago and I have never taken out of package. Thank you for showing me how to use.
Lol... I have the Perfect Layers. I believe mine were by Stampin' Up. They are pretty beat up now and I don't use them. I've never been a fan of the tearing ruler things. I've had those as well. Lol... as for the funky ruler, it's a centering ruler. Put your desired center at zero and make sure your outer measurements are both equidistant from the center.
I have the perfect layers that I used when scrapbooking. Really liked them but they has a metal piece and on some metal came loose at the end. Could still use just not at end. Looked for them but can't find. Never was a fan of the rulers to make edges with. We are barely making 12 degrees heare in West Virginia. 3 or 4 tonight I hink. But it is winter and snow on ground. Love the purple. Blessings
You show us the real deal. Love that. Like the layering guides, but I’ll leave the tear guides for others to enjoy.
That’s brilliant! Let’s stay in touch :)
I got those layering dies to help me get even borders for scrapbooking pictures. But I have forgotten how to use them, so thank you!
PS I don’t care how short the cut is but I cannot cut a straight line on my own. LOL I like where you placed the sentiment. I was saying, yes!
I have the perfect layers somewhere in my stash. I used to use them all the time, but then everyone come out with nesting dies and they weren’t important anymore.
I have had the layering guides for years. Once you get used to using them they become a "must have".
People have said such great things about them, I see why! TY for sharing your experience!
I don’t think you gave yourself enough “pull” room. I have had these for years & love them. Try
For sure, I mentioned I needed "more." LOL!! TY!
So beautiful love the colours too
Thanks so much, Sandra!! 😊
I have that glue gun as well!
It's a goodie!
Wonderful card!
Thanks so much!
