Very nice. Appreciate all the work for putting in the exchanges. Very helpful in learning beyond just the code but how it all comes together.

Nice and simple. There’s nothing quite like portable QRP CW using minimalist gear.

I really enjoy QRP with minimalist gear. But I usually end up bringing a spare radio (IC-705 for SSB), a few antenna options and telescopic mast. So I never seem to travel light. Thanks for your comments Steve, 73

Great video. Love the setup, especially the clarity of the speaker and the cw keyer. Thx

Thank you, I also like this combination of the QCX-mini, portable speaker and key. I was using the spark plug gear EFHW antenna so the whole setup is very light and portable, 73

James, thank you for posting this video. Your style is great. I like the scenery that you mix in with the QSOs. I hope to get outside this coming weekend. We've had a winter storm, and now a few days of rain are on tap. Weekend should be nice. Hope springs eternal. 73 de David AE4LH

Thank you David for watching and your feedback. This park is one of my favourite places to operate portable, there are some very nice views from the headland. It was very hot and the beaches looked very inviting but I did not end up having time for a swim afterwards, 73

Thanks for the real nice video James. I really enjoy QRP cw operation and also enjoy watching others having fun. I've built a couple of those QCX minis and they are a fantastic, feature packed little radio. 72 de Brent VA3YG

Thank you Brent for the feedback. I really enjoy operating QRP too. I have two QCX-minis (40m and 20m) and an SW-3B which are great radios for operating portable. Thanks for watching, 73

Thank you, James, for another encouraging video! The QSO before the last one was really hard to receive due to suboptimal straight key (?) sending. Sometimes also hard to receive not super experienced bug operators. But you managed it! Congrats!

Thank you kao for your comments. There is certainly a wide range of styles with the different types of keys. I enjoy listening to the different sending styles. I am now practicing using a straight key (and I still need a lot more work) and I also want to try using a cootie, 73

James, after listening to RX sounds, on the QCX, anyone close to you mate seem to get this tinny sound on CW. On the TX sound it's sounds great. Have you been able to get your AGC working? Thank you so much for video. Looks like real hot day mate. Cheers 73 de Dennis vk4oc.

Thanks Dennis, yes the local stations were coming through very strongly. I still haven’t gotten around to installing the AGC module. The QCX-mini handled the strong signals well. It was a very hot day but luckily I was in the shade of some large trees, 73

Hi Garry, the speaker is a Native Union Monocle, you should be able to buy it on Amazon or EBay. I just purchased a second speaker last week as a backup, 73
