From almost the very first episode, the Hollywood sitcom Friends was destined to be a hit. Its brilliance came from its simplicity. Each episode was beautifully crafted and lovingly performed by a charming cast. For ten seasons the friends on the show made us laugh so much we felt like they were our friends. It’s the reason why, in the two weeks since actor Matthew Perry died, so many tears have been shed around the world. One person who knew Matthew better than most is award-winning television director James Burrows. He worked on the very first episodes of Friends, forging a fatherly bond with the entire cast. In an emotional interview with Karl Stefanovic, James remembers the best of times with his great friend Matthew.

This poor man ...I'm so thankful to him for "Friends" u can tell in his eyes how emotional he is and when he calls them his kids he seems so genuine. I hope he and all the cast are able to get through this and i hope the directors know how much "chandler " and Matthew Perry was loved ..and that we will forever remember chandler bing ❤️ xx

You can see the grief, heaviness and sadness in Jim’s eyes and energy. May all his friends and family get through this difficult heartbreaking process and emotional raw devastation. Matthew Perry will forever be with us in his larger than life, light, love and gift of laughter. And he doesn’t have to deal his pain and addictions anymore. 🕯️♾️🕊️ 💔 ❤♥️
Very sweet, such real raw emotion. It's lovely to see people share how they really feel, it makes us feel that they'll understand how we feel too.
He really feels he has lost a part of his family and in Hollywood that's a very special thing to find within the superficialities of the industry.

Matthew loved James Burrows. Matthew said he let Matthew be who he was. He said Burrows was an Actors director. He didn’t try to control him. He let the cast follow their own lead. Ty Mr Burrows. Matty loved you.
A real sad ending to one of the 6 cast members … this sitcom was historic to have 6 stars all making exactly the same big money .. for a decade … there will not be any series to have that success even with 3 equal status members .. let alone 6 …. and they didn’t have ego conflicts between them … what a great great series for the ages

What? People are just talking about the good aspects of his personality and his contributions to helping people. Things tgat were being talked about long before his death. Chill
He was a good person in many ways. He was flawed too. All this was known to people long before he passed. It’s just been highlighted more now. No one said he was a saint.

Chandler was always my favorite, the other ones were way to cuckoo, spoiled, whiny, annoying and stupid (you know which attribute goes with whom) for me. in fact all my Sims bear his last name Bing as an homage to Chandler. RIP, Matthew!

if you watch another video of perry and some English guy .they are disagreeing about how addiction affects you .the guy thought you could just say no to something or go " cold turkey " and perry is telling him it's not always that easy for people like him .the rest of the cast could handle going out for beer or " gambling " together perry tried but couldn't do that .but addiction isn't just alcohol, drugs .

Likely because Matt Perry was on his path to redemption and had recently released his autobiography so was front & centre having done interviews etc and was getting his life together optimistically so people were shocked & sad he didntget that chance. Robyn Williams had withdrawn from public to a degree due to his Lew body dementia and committed suicide. The media doesn't like to report on suicide and dementia.

Never was interested in Friends. six supposed friends living together never appealed to me. Never really liked any of those actors.
