      Thank you for the comments. I greatly appreciate them. I think I don't have a million followers for two reasons: #1: I make my content specific to one year/make/model of vehicle (in this case a 2001 F150) rather than a generic "How to replace a master cylinder" and #2: I am an educator...not an entertainer. People like funny, silly stuff that doesn't help them. I don't do that.
      Good luck with your repair.

    You have a new subscriber! Great video! As a DIY'er, I watch a ton of videos on the "How To" aspect, and this by far is one of the best I've seen. The attention to detail (right down to the size of the tool you need), step-by-step tutorial is great. The explanation of bench bleeding the master was a nice touch as most don't bother with this step, but should just for the fact that you can get a bad master right out of the box. (especially if it's a remanufactured one) The color variences identifying the peticular parts are extremely helpful to those who are just learning how to work on their own vehicle. I've replaced pretty much everything for the brakes on my truck and was stumped as the "how-to's" the first time I did it. However, I still reference back to a video just to see if I can find a new and easier way to do things. I have ABS and believe one of my soft-pedal issues lies there, but have yet to see a good video on how to replace the ABS module and pump. Thanks for the video, great job!

    Can you replace the brake pressure switch by itself? Mine is allowing fluid to come up making the connection wet and shorting out the #15 5amp in cabin fuse.

    Nice video.
    If you remove the reducer like you did at 11:00, when you start the process, do you think this would eliminate the problem accessing the mounting nut that you had at 3:45?

    Very good video, especially using the highlighted pictorial graphics that isolate the part in question. How about a video on changing out the Fuel Filler Neck on Ford F 250's? Or changing shocks on Ford F 250's? Maybe do one on changing out the Condenser, Dryer and Evaporator on Ford F 250's....Perhaps trouble shooting A/C issues within Fords......

    I have a 2002 f150 and i had the brakes and differential replaced and maybe a month afterwards when i would drive the truck for over an hour the truck would start putting bressure and breaking on its own and if i were to let off the gas doing 40mph it would instantly start slowing down. I noticed i had brake fluid leaking from outside on the rim. Would the master cylinder cause that

    • @InsaneOil
      @InsaneOil  ปีที่แล้ว

      Outside on the rim of the tire or the rim of the master cylinder cap?

    I am doing the same job this week. Just want to know if its necessary to swap out the black wire connection on the reservoir on the side, like you did? Will the new one work just fine? Also, did you do anything special for the ABS System?

    • @InsaneOil
      @InsaneOil  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I swapped out the black wire connector because the one that came in the box would not match the existing connection in my vehicle. If the new one matches your harness, you should be able to use the new one without issue. I did not bleed or do anything special with the ABS System for this repair.

    Don't you have to bleed all brake lines One stem new master cylinder is installed starting with the furthest away

    • @InsaneOil
      @InsaneOil  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, any time you disconnect a brake line you will want to bleed the system.

    A little too much focusing on how to lubricated. I recommend cleaning all the wiring harnesses before connecting to new parts. Other than that the capturing and showing the actual work is brilliant. Normally other just move cameras all over and very annoying. Good job!

      @InsaneOil  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1
