When Mary and Joseph presented Jesus at the synagogue Simeon I believe told Mary a sword shall Pearce your heart.
That could be the crucifixion.
Mother Mary would probably be helping wash out some of the oils from Lazarus' sister's nard gift. Takes a looong time to get oil out of the hair! Side note: a pastor one said that the nard would have been so strong that Jesus would have still been able to smell it on the cross and remember his friends.❤💔

Since, Dallas said that we might get the whole season on the big screen. Also, March 24, 2024 next year's anniversary of The Triumphal Entry. With that said, the season 4 final installment on the big screen would be about the same time or very close to March 24, 2024.
Thats exactly what I think they will do! Its perfect timing if they start Feb or late Jan!
Your attention to detail and analysis, together with your knowledge of how film production works and familiarity with the Gospels, is so enjoyable. I am astonished by Andrew's house--unless he just rents a room there. For a debt-ridden fisherman, young enough to cause his debt-ridden older brother to stay awake at night worrying about his upkeep, he has quite a place. Am wondering why all the disciples were piling in at Simon's house when it looks like there'd have been room for all of them right there...😯🙂 Hard to wait for the finished season to have all these mysteries solved!

Thank you for this! My Bible app pronounces his name differently than the chosen. Perhaps I also don't pay as much attention as I show to the names in the letters also!

@ 12:11, I think that guy becomes one of those who yell crucify him. I wonder if Atticus and Quintus are brothers? In the context of The Chosen, I think Gaius is curious about JESUS because of his fisherman father/grandfather who taught him how to tie all the knots of the fishermen. There was a scene with Gaius in tent city where he lifted his head as if he'd heard an audible voice, or something within, telling him to help that man and woman trying to move that heavy object. That was cool to see, so I think Gaius has been searching for GOD in some way already.

Speaking about Mother Mary, some time ago Dallas shared a photo with her on his stories, it was on set(somewhere in the desert?) and Vanessa was wearing her Mother Mary outfit so I suppose we'll see more scenes with her. In the BTS of season 3 we didn't see much photos with Mother Mary as well, but she appeared in episode 3 and in the whole scene in the syngagoe so yeah, I think we'll see some interesting scenes with her. The Crucifixion is planned for the next season so I guess Dallas will show us more about their relationship before that. Thanks for the information about the process of production!

The fact that Jesus was miraculously conceived by Mary, it would probably make sense that she has an inkling as to where things would lead up to. She would know about the prophecies of Isaiah and others. I kind of agree with both the chosen's and your side. Maybe she knew something but obviously not everything. And she could also have been talking about stuff with her son. And Jesus wouldn't have revealed everything to her as that would be utterly heartbreaking to even go about your daily life knowing your son is gonna be brutally murdered.
I think its the Transfiguration when Jesus is up on the mountain.

In Luke 2 - Mary & Joseph take Jesus to the temple were greeted by Simeon who straight out told Mary th a sword would pierce through her heart too. Also, there are all the prophesies of Isaiah, and what she was told by the angel when she was chosen to be the mother (and what he will be called) - I cannot believe that Mary did not know. But I respect your opinion, even if I cannot share it.
I love your observations I kinda disagree on whether on Mary knowing, a little, as a mother with a close bond I feel she would if not known she had to suspect it was coming, also I find it hard to believe he would not prepare her for what was coming, asshown that some of his last words were to her and John for her care.

Ananais and Anna the prophetess admitted that Jesus was the Messiah when Jesus was presented in the temple. Ananais said something to the effect of "now I can die because I have seen the Lord!" He also told Mary that a sword would pierce her heart. Also, Jesus and Mary always say if not now when? They knew. She may not realize what but she knows!
Jesus was pretty clear with his apostles about his death, but yet they didn't truly understand. So, while Mary probably knew her son was going to die, the timing and manner was not. That much is true of all of us today. We all know we are going to die, but not when or how.
Sounds great. In reality I think you have to make things up, if you are going to make a story about the Bible and Jesus. There are things that definitely cannot be known, so you have to make things up.

I think the intimate conversation btwn Mother Mary and Jesus may be about Joseph and Lazarus and Himself. It would be very cool to even have a flashback (verbal or visual) about what Simeon said to her and Joseph when they came to dedicate Baby Jesus in the temple at 8 days old (a sword will pierce your own soul)

Jesus did know about it. In season 2 there was a moment between Jesus tried to warn John to not say things bluntly but he said he will be ok then Jonathan saw him like he is sad. I remember they can relate to that scene with this to show Jesus knew

In the Gospel according to John, Jesus changed Simon's name the moment He met him, in Chapter 1.
