- The final sluice boxes have arrived, and its time to start SLUICING! First we have to complete the settling pond, build the New 6" power sluice boxes, get the pumps ready - get the boxes level, and fire up the plant! We have dug the settling pond larger, deeper and have shored up the walls with cedar wood. This will help prevent erosion, and the cedar wood will help prevent bugs from eating it. I do believe this is the worlds first 1/14th size functional Gold Mine on TH-cam.
A lot of folks think that I am building a miniature mine site.. and in some ways I certainly am. I am building a scaled down version of a mine site.. that can ACTUALLY GET GOLD! TH-camGOLD is a parody series based around the GOLD Shows of TV that we all know and love. #GoldRush #YukonGold #BeringSeaGold all of these are shows that my family enjoy seeing!
I have always known that making a GOLD MINE would be possible with RC models.. and finally I get to realize this dream. I have been watching these shows for years as I have been collecting my miniature mining equipment. Now, in good spirit I a putting all the shows together.. and doing something fun on TH-cam in our own way.
We did use some pay dirt in our video today, to demonstrate how the sluice box's work. We still have to dial in our angles, learn to pan more effectively, and continue to work our way towards our season goal of 1/2 an ounce.

That is a good set up as a prospecter that is vary cool. just in case you didn't know the rule on a sluice box is for every foot of sluice you should have one inch drop

The darker mush left in the pan at 20:50 is what I believe magnetite. They have this thing called a Magnetite separator that using a completely vertical magnetic conveyor belt that separates the magnetite from the gold into two separate buckets. There is also a wash table that moves back and forth and washing it at the same time which helps reveal the rest of the gold without having to use a pan.

I started at part 8 and have advanced to season 2, eps. 4 or 5 if memory serves me. It has to be illegal if your having fun like this with clothes on. I did see the mining licence... nice touch, like I posted before, better than the series. You Canadians know how to have fun, wish I could travel. I could play the part of a investor who is pissed off about his return on the mine or something

All right, NOW you have a proven system working. NOW try some REAL unknown paydirt. Time for a road trip. Find a local stream
and dig up a couple of 5 gallon buckets of the sandy bottom at the end of a water rapid section, or at the bottom of a small waterfall that has been there forever and run that through the plant.
Lets see if you can find it naturally using local pay dirt.
That is exactly what Im going to do.. :) But the road tip will take hours..
