- Episode 10! ...And we need to weigh the GOLD. But first.. we must properly level the plant, fix a conveyor, build spray bars.. and then move some micro-yardage! The Dozer is full of battery, so is the wheel loader and excavator. The shaker plant is need us to install the new spray bars.. and a skirt has to be installed onto one of the conveyors. Lot's of challenges running a 1/14th scale Gold Mine.. and the interesting thing for me is noticing how many of our problems are similar to the problems I have seen on the TV shows.. and other Gold Mining operations.
Yes, we are mining for real gold (yes it's real pay dirt - I ordered it from the world wide net..), but the true Gold is the experience we get as friends, what we hope the viewers get watching a couple of goofballs entertain you with some very cool toys. One mans hobby, is another's entertainment on TH-cam! Now all I have to do is to continue learning how to sluice for Gold. We are all rookies, we have never mined before.. yet, I have always had a passion for Radio Control, and for finding Gold!

Your conveyors going to need rollers. Conical shaped units will help centralise the durt too. Probably something printable on the net.
I really do enjoy your channel. Loving this You Tube GOLD project. Especially with the teamwork from the crew. Until I started watching your channel I had no idea the RC hobby was so vast. There really is something for everyone.

This is so badass Medic. 😎 one suggestion, you should have the excavator at the end of the conveyor belt so when you dump the bucket, the arm of the excavator is is going to same direction as the belt to eliminate the chance of losing pay dirt off the sides. 👍 👍

For the conveyor you can make little triangle shape out of wood to put on each side of the belt underneath so it makes a V shape.

RCmedic , your youtubegold series have been One of the most mesmerizing series on your channel, we still talk about it at my local rc club and I still drop in to rewatch the episodes. I think it is because you and the guys pioneered a new trend in rc that demonstrated how to perform a practical task and still have rc fun. Please do something similar again in the future. Your videos have already inspired me to buy a trommel, belt loader and conveyor . Regards to the gold mining crew and merry Christmas from Denmark.
You should take the conveyor for sluice box and dig a hole and set it in it and then use the dozer to push the dirt onto it

I think you are loosing gold when panning use a smaller bucket or not that much water

They aren't losing gold because panning uses the fact that gold is much heavier then normal rocks and they also have a nugget trap so they aren't losing the tiniest bit of gold.

As someone who has used fleece traps in sluices (an ancient technology) I keep wondering if the water speed on the right hand (looking from the bottom) sluices on both machines is a tad too high. In both cases it seems to be washing over too fast rather than washing through?
_it may need to be for that modern system_

Just a thought but beings the larger rocks are getting dropped into and past the bars you might build a rock grate. A structure that has the same size grating you have in the sluices mounted on a frame at a 45* angle, use the front end loader to drop scoops of material on the top edge and then let gravity work it magic by letting the smaller rocks and dirt fall thru and the larger rocks just continue it race to the bottom of the frame/screen. Then you can use the loader again to scoop the cleaned dirt out from under the raised frame and then drop into the trammel. Just throwing an idea out. Great series BTW!
Your first sprayer on your Shaker needs turn toward your conveyor belt a little bit for it will help clean the walls at the front. But over all you guys rock.

The buck wall around your pond, put the Sam wall along your conveyor and put the paypile. So the loader is closer and quicker to the hopper

You should mount the 2nd conveyor above the trommel fed from angled grizzly bars to wash the large rocks.

I love the show & channel, & way less drama than the tv show. I have an idea for the conveyor belt that feeds the shaker. instead of a skirt maybe use rc wheels or such to create a roller system along the sides to give the belt a concave type shape, or a couple pieces of pvc or metal pipes running down the sides of the conveyor box under the conveyor belt to give it a concave shape to help keep the gravel in the center of the belt & from getting up under the belt jamming it up. Keep it the great work, cant wait for the next episodes!

Awesome video per usual! One suggestion would be to get some sound proofing panels, and make a 3 wall, 1 roof box with one open side, to put over the gas engine. It will allow it to still ventilate, as well as really reduce the sound levels. I've done this with Generators with great success!

You should weld a pre screen above the trommel with a catch guard underneath so you don’t loose any. Just a basic screen like we do in full size construction/mining.

First time commenter here, long time watcher. I love your channel, ambition, and your helpers are great too! I did some small scale RC gold mining myself with pay dirt and a bilge pump powered clean up sluice using a converted hydraulic Bruder excavator. I gotta say that trommel is where is at! and it should be able to handle all your material all by itself with some spray bars and a shaker feeding it. Gotta have that water to wash the rocks off first thing, and a shaker to clear out the big junk. 3 sluices for that amount of material might be a tad overkill lol

I think you should install a pressure washer wand on the shaker box to blast the rock with higher pressure and a lot less water.
I think you need to swirl the gold pan at less of an angle but with more water. I've panned for copper grindings from a sanding wheel. I hold the pan (bottom) at about a 45 deg. angle and swirl agressivly to sluce-out the large stuff. The ribs in the pan will keep the heavy stuff. Gold is heavier than copper so this should work. Also, are you weighing in imperial or Troy ounces?

loving this series Medic , Sluice Box is kicking butt out there! A couple of thoughts... is it possible to put a hopper above steve's belt so he can dump into it and then the chute of the hopper is let's say a 1/2 -3/4 inch smaller than the belt width (as wide as where the new skirt lays on the belt), have the chute 1/2-3/4 inch off of the belt and as the belt moves it pulls the allotted amount(width and height) of "pay" onto the belt in a more consistent and uniform manner, it would take a bit of adjustment as everything does but may save time over all. This is how we get frac sand from our silo's onto our belt's and to the "blender" , as long as the chute height doesn't exceed the height of the edge holding the new skirt it will never spill out of the chute if the belt is stationary and full hopper.
Also if you wanna learn how to pan properly check out Jeff Williams he a certified nut and has the gold fever lol , all jokes aside he is one of the best prospector/miners around imo.

y'all need to swap rolls, use the loader to sprinkle pay onto the conveyor and use the ex to feed the auger, this would keep the dozer pretty busy tho.!!
