In 2011, Bron choked averaging 2 points in the 4th quarter. The fourth quarter is the most misunderstood part of the game. it's different than all the other quarters because the clock runs down so you have to think in terms of how many possessions ahead you are. A 2pt field goal and than a quick transition 3pt can put you ahead by two possessions.
    heres a really super simple, uncomplicated example. you are behind by 1 pt. you make a 2pt field goal and now you are ahead by 1 point. The opponent either misses or a turnover is forced and you get the ball back. You hit a quick 3 pt and now you are up by 4 pts. The opponent needs a minimum of two possessions to tie or get ahead.
    that's why you absolutely have to hit your 3pts down the stretch.
    fg% does NOT win you games. big plays (a crucial 3pt or a forced turnover) that puts you ahead in possessions are what win games. This is where kobe excels the most.
    because you shoot much more 2pt field goals than 3pt shots, you can technically go 0-3 on 3pts in the fourth and STILL BE be 50% on fg. This is why lebron can have a bad fourth quarter and still look good on the boxscore.
    If you took the time to read this, please give it a like. I hope it gets a lot of views. I'm hella tired of people disrespecting kobe.

      JMS1089 Well guess what, in go ahead baskets with 10 seconds left in the game during the postseason, lebron is 6-14 and kobe is 5-22. Lebron also demolishes kobe in every statistical category.
      So lebron is much better than kobe

    • @angelluis762
      @angelluis762 7 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      Safwat Khan Well that's just going off postseason. Lebron is 5-47 when attempting a tying or go-ahead shot in the final five seconds of the fourth quarter or overtime. Kobe is 13-48. Now I took this from an espn article in 2016, those numbers could be a little altered possibly from this year, but it illustrates well that Kobe is the better clutch shooter.

      Kobe is a proven legend & what he has accomplished over his 20 years can not be compared to anyone still playing.

      You do realize when you play ISO ball, your teammates become cold, and when they have the ball, they won't play as good. These are NBA players not a bunch of HS kid. They can ball. Play as a team, and watch the beauty of basketball. But I digress. LeBron has proven that he can hit those tough shots time and time and again.
      You're double teamed and Kyle fucking Krover is open in the corner. Do you A, force a low percentage shot, or B, Pass to Kyle Krover? You're dumb if you pick A. There are so many games where Kobe bricks game winners because he's reluctant to pass to the open man. It's funny how fast people have forgot about this. Must be because of new fans popping out of the Internet who never seen Kobe bomb a game and just watched highlights.

      @@billiondollarbull no doubt and I respect your opinion. To be honest I can't really disagree with you , because what you are saying is right. Basketball is a team sport therefore the player who plays for his team should be rewarded (LeBron james). But what I would say about Kobe is that although Kobe is not at the level of a LeBron teamplayerwise, when it comes down to it I rather have Kobe take the last shot. Now don't get me wrong I was born in the 2000s so im not an expert in basketball , but all I'm saying is that Kobe deserves to be compared to LeBron. Like, at least Kobe dares to take the last shot. I'm not saying that ISO ball is the right way to play basketball, because it isn't. But when you're in the NBA finals in game 7 , then who do you want to take the last shot? And also the point of basketball is to win. So in other words, the last minutes of a basketball game is what matter. If you are leading or losing, it doesn't matter. Did you win the game? That's what is important right? And if I want to win a ball game I'm personally picking Kobe and mj. This is of course just my opinion. So it doesn't mean I'm right. I'm only trying to give credit where credit is due. And especially after Kobe died 😢 , I really think that Kobe deserves his props. ☺ but anyways, have a nice day ☺

    I’ll try to be as unbiased as possible.
    Argument for LeBron:
    -LeBron has 3 Finals MVPs to Kobe’s 2
    -LeBron has 4 MVPs to Kobe’s 1
    - LeBron averages more points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks
    in the regular season and playoffs
    - Averages 50% from the field to Kobe’s 45%
    - LeBron’s PER is significantly higher than Kobe’s
    Argument against LeBron:
    - Has 6 Finals Losses
    - Jumper is questionable
    - Freethrows too
    - Has played weaker defense towards the latter end of his career
    Argument for Kobe:
    -Has 5 rings to LeBron’s 3
    - Has 9 first team all d’s to LeBron’s 5
    - shoots a higher % from midrange and from the free throw line
    Argument against Kobe
    -LeBron outranks Kobe in the majority of stat categories
    - Kobe shoots a significantly lower % from the field than LeBron
    Conclusion:
    I think LeBron is clearly the better player.

      Jaccobtw Defense Matters...n Kobe wasn’t s bad passer or rebounder 🙃 n if not for the injury Kobe suffered this wouldn’t be a discussion because it brought his statistical career average down not to mention his rookie season as well if we focused on more so the prime years u will see clearly that Kobe is a better All Around player plus everyone knows Kobe Bryant wouldn’t lose a one on one match up against lbj 🙃

      @ajdaking507 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jaypeee97 that argument doesn't work at all. Primarily because you used Russ and KD as an example. KD is far better than Russ at pretty much everything and was successful in OKC despite how bad Russ is. So that's a piss poor example. Lbj is a better basketball player than Kobe Bryant and that's a simple fact. We can talk about Kobe Bryant's sheer scoring power, skill and versatility in that department all day long, but it doesn't make up for the fact that LeBron scores more at a much higher shooting clip across the board, except from midrange and freethrows. Kobe has 2 scoring titles and LeBron has 1. Not much of a difference considering that LeBron isn't a natural pure scorer like Kobe is. Defensively, to me, they're dead even. But LeBron is better than Kobe in more aspects of the game than Kobe is better than LeBron at.

      Son of Ethiopia That's was AFTER 3 straight finals trips at ages 28-30. They were old and tired. Lebron was losing to the Celtics and inexperienced magic all those years. The Celtics were older than the lakers ffs. There's no excuse for those losses with Lebron. Plus People tend to forget that game 1 of that mavs series came down to the final shot. So if Kobe's game winner goes down that's a whole different series.

    • @MrAVGNdude
      @MrAVGNdude 7 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      DanTheMan1026 No it's not. Your prime is your mid 20s. Kobe's prime was from 2002-2008. He just didn't start winning championships until the beginning of the end of his prime. His body slowly broke down after 2011. And stop it man. Kobe was damn near the only guy on the lakers and he was in the finals all those years. And he came out of the west. Both Kobe and Lebron played with one all star back then. Pay Gasol and Mo Williams. You probably don't think Mo did shit but he put up impressive numbers in 2009 plus I think he scored like 50 points in a game before. The only difference between the lakers and cavs back then was Phil Jackson was on one side and Mike brown was on the other. There was no excuse for Lebron to lose in 2009 and 2010. Bruh in 2009 they won 66 games that year and beat tf outta everybody except the lakers (who swept them in the season). They swept thru the first 2 rounds of the playoffs then Lebron just choked in the ECF after game 2. Keep in mind the magic was a lower seed... and then in 2010 the cavs won 61 games, beat up on everybody again (they swept the lakers in the season) and then swept the first round before choking against an aging 4 seed Celtics team. Seriously, they had no business beating Cleveland but somehow they did. Cmon man you can't say Lebron had no help when he lost and then say he's the only factor when they win. Lebron had a decent squad for the east back then. He just couldn't get it done in the playoffs without a big 3.

      eric vander are u crazy? give prime kobe either wade or irving and he wont lose any ring. And i wont say if he had wade and bosh or irving and love cause that would be unfair for every team. He won 2 back to back with pau gasol being the second best player.

    • @meoww12397
      @meoww12397 7 ปีที่แล้ว +36

      Eric Vander wade was 29 in 2011, averaged 25.5 pts, 6.4 rebs, 4.6 asts, 1.5 stls, and 1.1 blks as a guard. 7th in MVP voting. not sure you know the definition of "out of prime" mate.

    • @kiriakosdimtsis1016
      @kiriakosdimtsis1016 7 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      when kobe did have a good pg? he always had to make his own shots and never had someone to give him easy shots. you mean if kobe had wade who was an all star and dont you think Bosh is good enough at 6'11? wtf young kyrie ?? he averaged 25ppg in playoffs 2015-2016. kevin love had 17 and 10 averaged. well if kobe needed someone to clean up his bricks then lebron always need someone to make THE SHOTS. kobe beat the super team of celtics almost alone(gasol was very helpful)

    • @kiriakosdimtsis1016
      @kiriakosdimtsis1016 7 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      well i compare fischer to kyrie.. kyrie is one of the most skilled players in the league. fischer was nowhere to that. artest was a great defender but he didnt have much role in the offense. so was odom. only thing kobe couldnt do was rebounding and he had great teammates to do that.
      We have seen that kobe can easily adapt to a game. In game 7 of finals 2010 he had a struggle in offense yet he grabbed 15boards. We have seen him having games with many asists too. so dont tell me he cant rebound or asist but His game is based on scoring thats why he does it the most. If he had good offensive players such as wade or kyrie he would take less shots obviously and give them a chance cause he can trust them. Yes he wants to take shots but sometimes he does it because there is noone else that could do it.
      well kobe doesnt afraid of great teams. he beat suns(finished 2nd) in 2010 to get to finals which they were a great team and also the spurs in 2008(3rd) when they had manu parker and duncan all 3 of them averaging 19ppg. werent they good enough? orlando was the worst final team yet lebron couldnt beat them? how you explain that when cleveland finished 1st in east. you think that year kobe would lose to that orlando with any team? NO, cause he would take over with his scoring. He didnt have to rebound or asist against that crap team cause ofensively noone could stop him.
      Lebron has a higher FG% cause he drives all the time, he doesnt shoot. Thats why gasol had better FG% sometimes than kobe. Yet everyone just see stats and say kobe was horrible at offense wich is nonsense.
      And if Kobe had his ass saved in 1 game lebron had how many?

      percentages qualitative numbers all that shit go out the window when games on the line. the best thing LeBron has done in my opinion is to realize he's not clutch 8 min and beyond in the 4th quarter it clear he's acknowledged it just look at who the Cavs run plays for in those situations. out of all the games LeBron plays he has maybe a hand ful of walk of made shots and quite a lengthy number of misses but that not really the point every knows its a make or miss league but lets count how many time LeBron shrunk or didn't seem to even want the ball in those moments ima a mavericks fan since way back with j kidd jimmy jack and monster mash. when my mavs won that series I was forever officially off the LeBron wagon no matter what he does going forward itl never erase the look on his face when he looked at a 2-3 zone !

      Stephon Cromartie Lebron missed 11k shots in 15 seasons so what you mean ?
      Kobe one game
      Lebron choked in 2007 (4 games) and 2011 (6games) (with Wade and Boch)
      Blew a 2-1 lead in 2015
      2017 KD scored 180 points in his face 🤷🏽‍♂️
      So what’s your point ?

      Paulo Santos Lol 2007 finals wasn’t a choke, he lost to a team with 3 all stars and he was the only star on his team, in 2015 Kyrie and love were injured he was only star again. Kevin Durant barely outplayed Lebron In 2017 and ontop of that Lebron averaged a triple double the whole playoffs. And in 2018 he averaged a triple double again and also scored 50 points on Kevin Durant head in game 1, east isn’t weak at all, Jordan played in the east too. Lebron been up against the team that Kobe choked to In 2004. Prime Kobe and prime Shaq lost to Chauncey billups In 2004 4-1. Kobe also got swept in the playoffs several times, and failed to make the playoffs 3 times. He couldn’t even make it with Dwight and Nash

      @@TheKingcardo east is weak. Only a few teams he took to the finals would have made it to the 3rd round in the west. And thats being generous. Nobody worried about the 8th, 7th, 6th, or 5th seed in the east.. In the west, the 8th seed still had a chance and one year they got pass the first round. Kobe has played way harder competition than lebron.. FACTS

      jaccbolton u sound crazy, if u really believe that. The east has always been competitive, Kobe played nowhere near the comp Lebron been up against. Lebron had to get passed the 2008 Celtics(superteam) he had to get passed the 2004-2005 pistons that beat Kobe in he finals. He had to get passed prime iverson, Prime pg13, MVP rose and Defensive player of the year Noah. The 2012 knicks with prime melo,linsanity,Smith,chandler,stoudmire,baron davis. The bulls with Rose/Butler/Gasol/marotic. Also faced them when they had Wade,Rondo,Butler. The east would be better than the west if u take the warriors out.

    These commentators need to understand that Lebron taken the teams to the finals as many times as Kobe and Jordan combined. The games don't always come down to making the clutch shots, in fact, the clutch shots are for those ball hogs who refused to give up the ball to their teammates, because they wanted to be hailed as hero. These are the clutch shots in their career. Jordan went 9/22 .41% and Kobe 97/287 34%, James 90/231 39%. The guy with the lowest percentage of clutch shots actually taken teams to the finals more often than the guys who have better clutch shooting. Jordan who has the highest clutch shooting but failed to lead teams above 500 6 times to Lebron once.

    Kobe come from the era where analytics weren’t what defined the player overall. You can’t judge this comparison based on stats. Basketball is a two-way game, offense and defense. Kobe was undeniably a better defender, a better ball handler, a better shooter, better in the post, mid-range, 3pt, footwork, clutch, etc. Lebron plays on teams that require him to be a passer, you can’t knock Kobe for doing what was required of him for his team.

      This just false, he is not a better 3 pt shooter at all. lebron was 40% 3pt shooter in his prime, he was not a better defender in their prime either. lebron was more of a team defender and was twice the runner up for dpoy. Lebron is also a better post player, he is way better in the clutch especially in the playoffs(just look at the stats), kobe is like 3-13(23%) in the last 5 seconds of a playoff game, while lebron is 8-16(50).
      And all this is kinda pointless, kyrie is a better 3pt shooter, shooter, ballhandler than kobe. Does that mean Kyrie is a better player than Kobe? no ofc not. what matters is overall impact on the floor and production and Lebron is just way more impactful than kobe.

    Not even a discussion. The fuck is Max on about? "Kobe had Shaq when he won 3 titles" Lebron had a motherfucking full team roster of allstars everytime he won a title. Wade, Allen , Bosh ,Kyrie , Love and even the year when he did have Shaq in the Cavs they didnt do nothing. So Kobe still has 5 titles , Lebron has 3 titles. IF Lebron gets 6 titles then he might be better than Kobe.

      Wonderlandian you're really comparing a washed up shaq to a prime dominant shaq? Plz when shaq went to the cavs he was almost 40. If you switched both players on each teams lebron would've won at least 4 chips with shaq. And let's put career accolades into perspective kobe has 5 rings to lebrons 3 which isn't too much of a disparity and lebrons career ain't done yet. 4 mvps to kobes only one. And I hate this, "oh but lebron's a Stat padder." Gtfoh lebron doesn't try his best until the postseason starts. You think he couldn't avg a triple double if he wanted to and westbrook did? Who is 5 inches shorter? And don't act like kobe doesn't shoot his teams out of games. He goes out trying to score 50 all the time without getting his teammates involved.

Pau Gasol never got out the first round of the playoffs during his 7 years in Memphis. His 7 years in LA, his stats are nearly identical, so tell me how the fuck was he the biggest reason the lakers got better, before the trade, lakers were 3rd seed in the West, 2 games behind the 2nd seed. This is the a same Pau Gasol that lit the US big men up every single Olympic and World Championship playing for Spain. There is a reason Kobe shit a gold brick when learned about the Pau Gasol trade, he KNEW how good Gasol was, and how good Gasol would complement his game. Kobe couldn't have asked for a better #2.

Lebron willingly made his decision to get traded to the Heat with a team who had one superstar and asked another one to join.
