Aw thank you so much. I am glad you do appreciate the difficulty in doing them as it’s easy to see a video from your armchair and not realise how Knackered I was doing it LMAO : )
Quite a lot of history behind it, even though it is just a large Pike LOL. Yes the views are amazing. The weather wasn’t very good but I had driven all the way there and decided what the heck I am not going to abandon the video LOL
You need a Torch as it’s complete darkness for quite a while. There are Masonic symbols outside and inside plus the staircase goes up anti clockwise for symbolic reasons.
Stoodley Pike’s history and stunning location make it a must-visit for hikers and history buffs alike! The views of the Calder Valley sound breathtaking, and the spiral staircase to the viewing platform adds an adventurous touch.
Thank you and yes it is a great place to visit if you’re into hiking and walking. Take a Torch with you though as that staircase is completely dark inside. You would think that light would find its way inside but it doesn’t lol.
@ I would say about an hour or so but took a lot longer getting down as the ground was quite wet and so though it would be slippery walking the same route back down so went the long way round back down which was about an hour and half lol
Your footage is absolutely beautiful!thank you for sharing parts of the world with us!❤ parts I’m sure I’ll sadly never see in person but thru your videos, I feel as if I’m there
That is actually the second "pike", the first collapsed in 1854 During the laying of the first foundation stone " A youngster perched on his father's shoulder, leant forward and was touched accidentally by the Tylers sword and blood flowed freely " :-)
@@Martyn383 Brilliant extra info that Martyn, yeah I saw that about the first one not surviving but I didn’t know about the other part lol. When I got to the top there were some amazing people who had come from all over the country to go there.
A very good aerial flight using the DJI drone. I also own several DJI aerial drones and FPVs. I share your passion for flying drones. Best regards from me in Indonesia

Thanks. Yeah I must admit I was very tired doing this one. It was actually worse walking back down. Decided to take the long way around which took a long time lol
@@Gkofilms Hahaah lol to be honest I was more out of breath right at the beginning whilst talking than I am going up the hill. When you can see your nearly at the top that’s usually the worst and have to stop for a breather lol. Besides it’s all good exercise and I need it lol
Thanks Elaine, Glad you enjoyed this one. Did you see the look on Ross face at the top lol. It was very tiring getting there although it was harder getting back down if I am honest
I thought I had seen your video before. You are clearly much cleverer than I. I regretted it half way up LOL. It’s worse trying to talk and act like it’s nothing without breathing heavy LOL
Football club “graffiti” around the railing is so “Up North” to me. As always great video all around. Did you shoot much of the main video with the Neo that you keep flashing in your lead up description?? You’re super fortunate to have so much beauty and grandeur effectively on your doorstep. Enjoy your non-drone videos as well. “You can just feel the moisture in the air…”. It is The North of England, after all. 😂 Thanks for posting!
@@JWNRW59 Thanks for watching and commenting Wendell I really appreciate it. Yes it is a shame that it has the graffiti on it. The shots whilst climbing the hill were both the DJI Pocket 2 and the DJI Neo. The main drone flight was the DJI Mini 3 Pro as it handles the wind much better and was quite windy. The NEO is a clever little drone to add a little extra to the shows where your joining me on the mini adventure to get to the finale location : ) I keep experimenting to see what works and what doesn’t plus what people like and don’t like : )
@@flywithmetrevor well whatever you are using and doing just keep it up mate. We recently returned from what used to be an annual trip to North Yorkshire (hasn’t been back since our 2020 trip was COVID cancelled). So much to see in God’s Own County. You’re fortunate to live there. We only get our dose once every fall 😉😊
@ Thank you for the kind support. Well if you can think of anywhere for me to go and do an Adventure for you then give us a nudge and will see if I can do it for you. Both this and the last video were both suggested by the same person and I am glad I took note. Great Places : )
@ Where should I start … Whitby/Sandsend, Staithes, Robin Hood’s Bay (see the commonality??😊), Malham Cove, Gordale Scar, Bolton Abbey, …. I could go on and on 😉. Seriously, anywhere Yorkshire works for me.
