Very interesting Tri-ang is more or less unknown for me, learnd the first time something about these models by David Atkins. Also running modern stuff, Ilike these old models and their technique . Thanks for sharing. Cheers Andy 🤠

Hi, again another interesting video. I now find that I was right in thinking that you were knowledgeable in the repair and maintenance of clocks. I am regaining an interest in the model railway hobby,
Very basic at the moment. Aged 89 years, and with sight impairment,(AMD), it is a slow progress task. Keep up the good work, I am gaining knowledge all the time, thank you.Kind regards, James.

Nice introduction . Just found your channel so gone back to introduction and hope to binge watch you ! I’m a Tri-ang enthusiast since 1965 . Still have layout in loft . Analogue . Run everything from my old childhood trains to the very latest locos . Like you it’s the trains I’m interested in , with scenery incidental . Really looking forward to watching your films. Impressive slow running on dock Shunter . Don’t think I’ve seen that model ever go so slow!

Hello Russell, It seems a while since April and my first try at a video. A lot of people underestimate the abilities or Tri-ang locos. A bit of care and attention and they run superbly, although a little noisy at times. I do like a bit of slow running too, its fun with the little Dock Shunter. All the best to you

A very honest video. I'm just starting out and deciding between DC and DCC after running DC as a child. Great to see how to re-use the abundance of old track and kit.

Hello James and thanks for looking at the video. It is a choice that is difficult if you have no real thoughts one way or the other. For me I wanted to run my old models as they were run back in the day so DC all the way. however the DCC offers a lot of new ways to enjoy running model railways. If I were to offer any advice it would be to try and decide what sort of layout and equipment you are drawn to and then think about making a choice. You could always start DC and change later, DCC is quite a bit more expensive initially as you need a controller etc. Good luck with what you decide. Best Regards to you

A good introduction. This shows that there is a lot of life left in the old stuff yet, and could even out live the modern equivalent. My main OO gauge layout is all Peco code 100 with the odd bit of Hornby thrown in on the DC section so early Tri-ang will not run very well without converting to modern wheels but most stuff will run that would struggle on finer scale track. I do love the realism and detail of the modern models but also have an affection for older stuff. To that end I do have some old Tri-ang TT in storage so will one day when I find some room get that out as there is no modern British line equivalent and I think it's such a nice scale.

Hello Rob, you are right about the larger flanges of some Tri-ang loco wheels not liking Code 100 track. It's good to hear you have some TT, it is a nice gauge and a layout would be excellent fun. Best festive greetings to you

WOW 🤩 that’s incredible 👏🏻 Will you fix the little dock shunter front end 🤔 I can remember running my old trains flat out a getting a distinctive electric smell from the motors especially with some carpet hair’s inside lol 😆 Looking forward to seeing your progress as it’ll bring back some happy memories as my late Dad got me into trains. 👍🏻 I’m 65 now so it was many years ago & before the days of DCC 😂 Cheers Stevie
