    Those game lairs are well worth the money. I have 3 and my LCGs get to the table soooo much more since buying them.

    Oh my god, I was about to make my own dividers for the core box and saw just right now that there are buyable ones. Well of course! More neat and precise. I find those special sleeves difficult to find in my local place hence I settle for regular ones (Mayday or Sleeve Kings usually). Everything in that first box was just a dream accessory. I understand getting into LCGs is quite an expensive hobby, but man, any robust card-heavy game is. This is a commitment 😅.

    This is exactly the video I was looking for. These accesories add a lot of value to LCGs, which are by nature difficult to organize and get to the table. I had tried to get into Marvrl Champions 3 or 4 times and I couldn't really get into it until I got the Gamenic box, card dividers, and dice to track resources. Thanks!
    Question: I've been having difficulties finding wooden cubes for exhausted cards like the ones you show, do you remember where you got them? All I can find are packs of large multicolor cubes which wouldn't help.

    • @TheGameLocker
      @TheGameLocker  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I sourced mine from a board game (Lords of Waterdeep), but you should just be able to search for 10mm (or 1cm) wooden cubes, that's what I used and I think they're the perfect size.

    Just wanted to say, i started collecting this game two weeks ago. Bought all the revised content. Played my first game last night after watching your how to play video twice. Absolutely brilliant tutorials. Thank you so much.
    I have a quick question about the game. The action zones. Is there only one where you can play allies and attachments in the planning phase only? And ALL the other action zones you can play event cards, actions. Im confused about what action zones i can do what in.

    • @TheGameLocker
      @TheGameLocker  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You are quite welcome, so glad I could help!
      To your question, it sounds like you may be mixing up two concepts. First - the planning phase is the only phase where you are allowed to play allies and attachments. That has nothing to do with action windows - playing allies & attachments is just something you're allowed to do in that specific phase in the round; playing ally/attachment cards from your hand is not an "action".
      Second - the concept of action windows. Action windows are the specific times during the round (usually between phases) where you are allowed to use "Action" abilities on your cards. You'll know what action abilities are on cards because the card text will literally say "Action" on it. Though action windows usually occur in between phases, there is a special action window during the planning phase that lets you play action abilities any time DURING that phase (before or after you play ally/attachment cards). So I could PLAY Steward of Gondor in the Planning phase by spending two resources, then immediately trigger its Action ability on Steward to gain two resources, then spend those two resources to play something else, all inside the Planning Phase.
      Aside from that "special" action window that's open all throughout the planning phase, all action windows behave the same - you can play any kind of Action ability during any action window. You're not limited to playing certain kinds of actions in certain action windows (unless the card ability says something like "Combat action" or "Planning action", in which case you can only use that action in an action window in that specified phase).
      I hope that helps clarify!

      @TheGameLocker thank you so much for the detailed response. Yes, that helped clear it up for me, thank you.

    I have been hoping that you would make a video on what you use to store your Lord of the Rings LCG collection! Thank you! This is very helpful and I learned some new good ways to store cards. I've never seen or heard of a few of these accessories! Where have these been for the majority of my life?! I actually had never seen the foam pieces before until just a few months ago that came with another card game, but it never crossed my mind to use my spare ones for my Lord of the Rings collection for some reason. I'm storing my cards in the repackaged boxes as well because like you said they are very nice! That Games Lair looks so nice! I remember the cubes. I think that is a great idea by the way, and I'm thinking I will try out using them instead of taping because it does get annoying turning them twice every turn, especially when space is an issue when you have a lot of cards in play, and being easier to pick up sounds nice. I can't count how many times I've tried picking up flat pieces and having a hard time. Where do you get these cubes from? I didn't see a link for those. Those number trackers sound so handy! I unfortunately can't 3d print them. I don't have a 3d printer. Is there any way that I can purchase the 3d printed stuff from anyone that makes them? About the Uberstax. I don't know if you remember that I mentioned getting those back when they had that huge clearance sale. Maybe the ones I got were defective, but the ones I have are really hard to put together and pull off to the point that it hurts my hands trying to push them together. I even broke one of the pegs off while trying to put two pieces apart so now part of the peg is stuck inside. It's a cool idea and would be nice if it wasn't a pain (literally) to put together and take apart. The black ones you have look nicer than the ones I have for some reason. The black on mine doesn't look quite the dark and looks a little faded? I'm not sure how to describe it. The card sorting tray also looks very nice! I would build decks all the time with Mtg for years, so this would have been very handy for that, although it would be handy still now for the Lord of the Rings Lcg. The draw and discard holder also looks nice! Oh man! I wish I had known about those Sleeve King sleeves before I went and spent all this money on Bushiroad card sleeves for all of my encounter cards. These will still be handy for the scenario cards however because I still have mine in "penny" sleeves and toploaders, which is not ideal. I have been looking for good affordable clear sleeves to use. The only option I had found were Titan Shield clear sleeves, but those aren't cheap. They're currently $12 for 150 sleeves.

      Hi! I got my wooden cubes from another board game (Lords of Waterdeep), you can buy wooden cubes in bulk from lots of places though. For 3d printing, you can check with your local libraries. Many around me have areas with free 3d printers and laser cutters and wood engravers you can use for free. For the uberstax, I don't think they're supposed to be 100% flush with no gaps - I've hurt myself trying to get no gaps. Just leave a little space between them, and to take them apart again just wiggle them loose instead of trying to pull them straight apart. Hope that helps!

    • @GuardianAngelEatos
      @GuardianAngelEatos 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TheGameLocker That's interesting! I had no idea that some libraries had 3d printers for people to use. I haven't been to a library in a long time since I hardly read books. Oh really? I normally do try to take them apart slowly, but that often Isn't enough to pull out. The same thing for putting together. Maybe I should wear some heavy duty gloves or something? Haha! Thank you so much for your advice dude! I hope that you're well.

      @@TheGameLockerBy the way, what are those mini cubes called exactly? I have been trying to find them, but they don't come up no matter what I try putting in the search. I really like your idea of using cubes when exhausting instead of turning the cards sideways and when you have used an ability.
      I eventually found some on Etsy. What do you use the red cubes for by the way? You didn't mention what you use those for.

      @@GuardianAngelEatos Just search for 10mm (or 1cm) wooden cubes, that's what I used and I think they're the perfect size. Do you mean the purple cubes? Those were just overflow if I had more players. I typically use three colors - White for questing characters, black for exhaust for any other reason, and green (or any other color) for marking something else (like a condition, or using a once per round/phase ability like on hero Arwen/Gandalf).

    • @GuardianAngelEatos
      @GuardianAngelEatos 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TheGameLocker Ah okay, got it. Those are purple? I couldn't tell from the video. They looked closer to a red color to me. Whichever other color the ones that are with the white and black ones are. I know you mentioned in the video you use the white ones for questing, the black ones for anything else, and the green ones for conditions and once per round abilities. I like using cubes for reminders for the once per round abilities as well by the way. Thank you yet again! Where do you get your cubes from? I'm having the same problem on Amazon, and on Etsy the problem is shipping costs ofr $8+ on these small amounts of cubes which is ridiculous because shipping wouldn't cost that much for something so small and light.

    How do you organize the player cards?
    You got me into the game. Thanks!

    • @TheGameLocker
      @TheGameLocker  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi! It's changed over the years. As far as containing them, I put them in the revised core box, and then I usually had a set of decks pre-built and ready to go in the Games' Lair. As far as how to sort them inside the box, I used to sort them strictly by sphere, then card type (hero/ally/attachment/event), then by cost. Later on when I had just the revised content with all the starter decks and such, a bigger percentage of that collection has cards that are very trait-specific (silvan, dwarves, gondor, rohan, traps, hobbits, noldor, etc.). So when I cared more about making trait decks, I would separate the trait-specific cards from the rest of my collection, and then the rest were by sphere > type > cost. Hope that helps!

    • @andreshazard2088
      @andreshazard2088 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TheGameLocker that does help. I'll try to use that sorting method. Thanks! I like binders for deck building, it's kinda cool to pass the binder to friend and tell him to try to improve the deck. Feels better than just using ringdb for me. But I have a really small collection though. Regards from Chile 🇨🇱
