- Yo I'm so stoked that I finally used my new roller skates by Flaneurz. Enjoy my first ever unboxing video and me trying to survive on them on the way to Hyde Park. I had to bring my inline skates with me as I am a skate instructor and I had a lesson to do that day. It was so much fun to jam with the other roller skaters and finally I could do that on a pair of quads! New beginnings!!! I also experimented some basic Wizard moves on them and I honestly can't wait to spend more time roller skating and see what i can come up with!

Tried when i was a kid, sucks compared to skates ( atleast for me)
Personally I have tried and they are even more stable than inline skates
i tried..... kept falling backwards!
I had a pair in the 90’s and didn’t like the stops on the front. Much preferred the rollerblades I got in 1998. I’m thinking of getting some this week, even if I just skate round the living room.

OK you made the transition look pretty much effortless! I am impatiently awaiting my pair. I'm returning to skating after putting them down for MANY years. Always have been a quad skater. I was in HS when inline skates became a thing. I'm glad you enjoy them. I'm looking forward to see how different they feel from the classic boot with heel. Lovely video Nic, I enjoy all your videos. I've been skating quads since the eighties but moved inline because I just like the speed. Toe stops super for braking when you are going backwards but only time I ever broke a bone was to try to brake for a dog in Greenwich park forgetting there was no toe stop on my inline skates. Better the wrist than the chin though!

A less misleading title would be “Skilled Rollerblader Tries Quads for the First Time”. That was the quick speed, jumping off curbs, transitions, backwards skating, carving, and city skating on day one would be more believable. Great skating and super cool skates, but you’re no newbie, Sir.

Hey I’m abit confused.. did you have to send them your air forces or do they send you the shoe that you want (url link) ? X
You can do either one! I use these to commute for work in NYC. I have white Air Force 1s from their site. But I have also sent in black suede AF1, Doc marten boots, and Mary Janes for customs orders. Having multiple shoes makes these twice as fun! If you live in a skatable city, you can go to or from any where in skates and just throw the plates in a little bag when you get there. 😊

hahahaha ... use the front brake, both to slide forward and to brake, it is very easy to transition backwards and you nail the point ... if it's cool ...
that front brake feels so dangerous!!! 😂😂😂
Get rid of the stoppers!!! You don't use them on your blades so ditch em.

Quad skates are like having a car on your feet and in-lines skates are like having a motorcycle. I like to lean over...I'll take a motorbike over a car anytime when it comes to having fun.
You feel freedom on a bike and inline skates.
The only way I'd ever quad skate or roller skate is if you put me in a time machine back to the 50's to the 80's and there were no real skates. Give me the 90's! lol
They both have their advantages. I skate both. Inlines are better for speed, adrenaline tricks, getting from one place to another, and skating comfortably outside. Inlines can never beat quads when it comes to dancing and style. Quads also function well inside in in small spaces. On a snowy day, I can be happy in 3 square feet inside my quads, practicing footwork. Also the roller rink culture on quads is a serious vibe. No need to declare a different sport “lesser than” just because you don’t understand it or it is not your thing. There are some things that inlines (or any great sports equipment really) suck for too. Both quads and inlines are amazing if you use them in their strengths. 👍🏿😄

Well you obviously have never skated on inline skates that have been rockered, if you know what that means. That’s when the wheels have a banana rocker to them instead of a flat setup. You should try it sometime. That’s how most ice skates are set up. You can literally turn on a dime.
Are you going to tell me figure skaters can’t dance or are as agile as having a clunky truck on your foot?
On a banana rockered in-line skate you are as fluid as water and it’s night and day different to a flat set up that you have to fight with to turn.
And yes you can skate on a 3 foot square tile. Trust me, I’ve spent enough time on quads back in the 70’s... and have no intention of going back.
@@kchappelle almost all of my inline skates are rockered or double rockered and my initiation into skating period was as a figure skater 😂😂. So, I’m far from unknowledgeable love. I stand by my statement. You are talking about two different skate dance styles. I would never jam skate on my inlines. I also really dislike artistic roller skating, because I think that style is better done on inline figure skating. Quads are the king of dance and style skates period. Inlines are great for précision, grace, speed, and agressive street skating. But there are things you can do with two sets of wheels that you can’t with a single lined set . It is a physics and weight balance thing love. There is a reason that inline dancing is not popular outside of artistic/figure. And people who do attempt it, can only do about half the moves people of quads can.
I am not arguing your preference. I wasn’t even a thought in the 70s, so I don’t doubt your possible expertise and experience. I am just saying, as someone who still rides both, that quads are not “outdated” they are just different and not interchangeable for all styles. Love both, for different things.
