Mercy! 20 mins in I was praising God! Outstanding conversation! I chuckled a little as it seemed Chrystal was a tad quiet as she was worshipping right along with us. It was amazing she could still remember to ask questions! One of my favorites now! Definitely have to listen to over and over again! 🥰

I was born in the UK 60 years old. At 10 1/2 years old I received Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. 😀I have been learning all my life to find my identity in Christ and God's word, despite being discriminated against because of my black skin.
I HAVE NEVER BEFORE heard anyone outside of my parents and family (earthly Caribbean origin) speak like Dr Sarita Lyons about black Christian women in this way. THANK YOU.
We are Royalty, children of the King of Kings once we are saved/ born again through Christ Jesus.
I believe that this truth and God's Word should govern my life. For the last 50 years I have believed being a Christian and a child of God, comes above my blackness, gender and culture. ❤😊❤
Thank you Chrystal and Dr Sarita for sharing and going 'there'. ❤🙏🏼
    I'll be buying this book😊

What a therapeutic and knowledgeable session!
God bless you Chrystal and Dr Sarita!!!!
Dr Sarita spoke about Sankofa and it originally from the Akan tribe in Ghana, which means "To go back and get/retrieve".
It's is usually depicted by a bird with its head facing backwards.
Its literal translation comes from the Akan proverb, "S3 wo wer3 fi na wosan kofa a yenkyiri," meaning, "It is not taboo to go back for what you forgot (or left behind).

I'm sorry this conversation was complicated for me.😩 I feel the same I don't want my life to depend on race.
I do not focus on these things that cause distractions for me and my mental. 🥹
I do not want to navigate my beliefs in Christ by trying to understand why he created me as a Black Woman. This conversation is so good! I also want to run away from my responsibilities sometimes!🫣🤭😅
I will stop here and just try to soak this episode in.🥹
Thank you for sharing Dr. Lyons with us.🙏❤
