i defy even the hardest-core Bunnymen fan to distinguish this from the band themselves, it is such a faithful, respectful cover, especially the vocal. More Mac than Mac himself. Fairplay to them, I'm not the biggest CP fan but I think they've done a great job with this, and paid respect to a band who I'm sure must have been a huge influence on them.

this is a great song and coldplay is a great band, but this song was not written by coldplay. The original recording by echo and the bunnyman is actually better than this.
@echo962 i would easily place Lips Like Sugar in the bottom quarter of the EATB catalog. don't get me wrong, i like the song a lot... but it's one of their more straight forward pop songs. my point was that even the weaker EATB songs rate higher than the better of Coldplay's library.

God this is awful he just can’t get Mac’s vocal right there is just something special about the way Mac sings that just can’t be replicated and chris just doesn’t have the right tone give me the orig any time echo and the bunny men are just amazing and tbh I don’t think any band could do a decent cover of their songs the music is good it’s just the vocals are awful
