Cutting off ends of brackets made a great improvement to the looks.
I agree with Lorraine on this. What a difference that little "extra" made! It looks so much better since you cut it off of each bracket.
The shelving is perfect. Love that you cut the lip off makes it more seamless.

I agree, paint them white. I would have kept the “lips” because they serve a function. I would also would paint the shelves white.
Just my opinion. But the shelves are actually well made. He’s a pretty good carpenter.

I’d paint everything white otherwise it looks too busy. You have enough features already
I would cut off the lip and paint the brackets white like the walls
The Open concept is really nice. When you live with the change a bit longer you will not even notice!

How about painting the Brackets the same color as the walls, then they’ll disappear and only the shelves and what’s on them will be the stars. Looking great!

Those shelves you saved from the mudroom look wonderful. I like your shelving brackets you're using! That's great that you sealed the tiles and caulked all around them. That L shaped shelf looks beautiful and the shellac made it really pretty! I think it looks nice. Okay, without the lip they do look better! It's looking so nice guys! Nice job with the turkeys. Without the lip on the brackets, it looks more like the shelf is floating. It's going to be so nice when you've finished.

I love the "lipless" look. The lips, because they were black and the other parts of the bracket are also black, were too many little different black areas for the eye to go in. This now looks much more cohesive, and very minimal, which is Lorraine's style. Beautiful, and great work on Jason's part. Thank you for bringing us along on the kitchen redo!🌻

When you started this video in the old kitchen wow it was dark now so lite, going to take a little time to get use to the new shelves, I have only used recycle wood for over 40 years , it works, You need beefy boys again pasture is sure growing

I never use store bought wood putty. I make my own custom for whatever wood I'm working on. I save the sawdust from the sander, preferably from 120 grit and mix in a little white glue or varnish . Always a perfect match.
