Great episode Dave! I have heard you talk about this director before. I have not seen any of his movies. It sounds like a really good movie. I might have to check it out. I watch a lot of foreign films and I always get nervous towards the end because about half of them don't end the way I had hoped. But anyway, thanks for all the info.
Thanks very much. So far, Aki Kaurismäki films leave me so hopeful. I always think the endings will be sad (and some of them are) but most of my favorites have a good resolution/happy ending. If you watch one/any, let me know what you think.
I love this movie, have watched twice on Criterion Channel, it deserves to be in the collection imo. You nailed it with the deadpan style comment, brilliant, unique, funny, sad and very heart felt. Oh yes, the music is great and keeps viewer immersed, well paced.
@@pete49327 Thanks. This film is one of my favorites too and would love to see it in the Criterion collection.
