Notoriously shy Matthew going out of his comfort zone to buy a special present for Anne never ceases to warm my heart. This miniseries' shine will never dull, it's timeless and classic. The cast was so perfect!
Matthew makes me think of my Dad. I was adopted also. When I was in high school, Dad was quick to buy pretty formal dresses for my school dances too. I love and miss him every day😔💕
The twist in the story, from the beginning. It isn't about an orphan who was never loved. She came especially to 2 people who never figured out how to love, but had so so so much to give. Matthew was such a lucky man and I love that he knew right at the start but didn't realize it in the moment just quite. I love the part of the story, just before this, when in the book it says he was glad he wasn't in charge of Anne. Because that meant he was free to spoil her!
This scene was soo funny and cute!! When Anne tries it on and shows Matthew and cries to him that she’s never had a more beautiful perfect dress! 😭😭😭😭 I’m so happy Gazebo has the whole series! I bought it right away! This version is always my favorite!
The first time I could not hear "garden rake" very well. As the title was telling me "Matthew Buys a Dress for Anne", I thought he was buying a fashionable garden rake without realizing that it was a huge (plastic) chicken foot, used to rake the leaves in a garden.
So love Mathew
Yep! ❤
Loved him so much. When he died I cried for a half hour!
A great part of the genius in this series is the casting. Everyone fits their role so well. The shopkeeper is as well-cast as Matthew.
Lovely man and great great father. Even though he did meet her later in life he was indeed a perfect father.
This was the best version ever. Each character was perfectly cast. I love how everyone’s world got turned upside down in a good way when she came.
I love Matthew so much!
Same for me ❤
He was the sheriff in Misery
This classic was just so good. The newer iterations of Anne just weren't as good as the 1985 has been.
i agree; I love Sullivan's adaptation. It's the best.
@@emiline_of_avonlea Sullivan's adaptations were so well written, well casted, and well executed. No wonder they are still so popular nowadays.

Yes...much as I love Martin Sheen, when I was watching the newer version I had to come back and watch the Master Matthew at work ;-)

Marilla's reaction to the 20 lbs of brown sugar was priceless! 😂
SO TRUE,CASTING IS THE KEY TO THIS ENTIRE WORLD OF ANNE!❤️❤️😎✌️BOB
Yes ❤
Definitely my favourite part! Matthew was beautifully cast!😊
One of my very favorite 🕊🇺🇲💕
Same for me :)

I loved Colleen Dewhurst's reaction as Marilla: "Twenty POUNDS of brown sugar..." 😆
Bawling my eyes out

I love how the shopkeeper can sense that Matthew didn’t really come here for brown sugar and rakes!

Whoa wow!
I I absolutely love this show. I don’t know why they won’t let Netflix play season four are the rest of the seasons it makes me so mad.
Thank you! For myself, I simply bought the DVDs. Muvch simplier this way.
Amo essa cena...como Anne era amada 💗 linda série
Bello
Me hubiera gustado Matthew para marido, su personalidad me gusta. Y no es feo.

"... and one to match, for a big boned fellah, I mean GAL! It's for my sister!"
❤❤❤❤👌👌👌👌👌👌
Poor Mathew spent a ton of money on this trip
Thank of poor Marilla trying to use up 20 lbs of brown sugar before it dries out
⚖️💸20 lbs of sugar and a $1. xx has come a long way, from essential price gaudging., 🤷♀️
