Thank you. Im about to be put to sleep in few days for major dental work. Going under general anesthesia is also new to me as well. These videos help me understand that for me it will be like a blink of an eye
How do you even get that option. I got referred but the said all they can do there is sedation. I just said ok and took it but chances are I won't go for it. Only way I can face it is to be fully asleep
@@TheCreatorsObserver the option isnt available everywhere. In my town only 2 private dental offices do it and one general hospital but you also pay as private patient. I searched alot. I was so disappointed with the first clinic that i went to i even started looking outside my country
@@lightyagami8639 yes i had two tubes down my throat the doctor told me. One to clean all the mess in my throat and one for breathing. But i just had little sore throat and nothing major. My tongue was numb for weeks cause they had to pull it left and right cause it expanded so much due to the missing teeth it was in their way. But im telling you, you wont know a thing so i wont worry about it at all. Even the numbed tongue wasnt that much of an issue just couldnt feel the food cause i had to use it alot instead of chewing ;) i will tell you again, do t worry uou wont know a thing. They dont start putting tubes and monitors until you are out. You will only feel when they will wake you up and start preparing to go home. I didnt even have swellings after 13 lost teeth and absolutely no pain except a little annoying ones but even then they were not worth taking pain killer
i did it on Wednesday 28.02.24. I had 13 teeth pulled. I literally dont remember anything. I just remember sitting in the chair and the next thing i know was when they were waking me up to move a bit so thy can put me in bed. So, for those who are freaking out of general anesthesia i tell you, relax, like relax 110%, you wont know a thing
Thank you, need a root canal done and this seems to be the only way forward, been worried about it but reading recounts like this makes me feel much better.
@@gyrthez246 trust me you can totally relax. You wont even know when you will fall asleep. I didnt. It just went dark and the next second they were waking me up. Sleep tight and do it asap, you will be fine. I didnt even have swellings or pain at all, except some annoying pinching but i dont even consider that
I had this done when I was 10. They gave me an injection and then I woke up again and my teeth weren’t there. I have to go back to get a couple of wisdom teeth removed. I know everything will be fine. Do not be scared of the Dentist hospital.
I’m in my 30s, my dentist said I am not suitable for general anethesia incase of I have never had surgery before and anything going wrong! I have learning disability and phobia of dentist and surgery
@@nenaddimitrijevikj5125 Do you not feel 'wired' or 'high' for a few hours after they stop giving you anesthetic? Never been given anesthetic in my life as you can tell.
Has anybody had more than 1 cancellation if so how many I was due to have my operation but it was cancelled has anybody experienced multiple cancellations
I got my wisdom teeth removed. Let me tell you what I do and dont remember because its honestly insane 😂 I remember walking into the dentist, talking to my mom having a cold ect ect, found out I had 5 wisdom teeth. Anyways they put a plastic tube in my arm to give me something I forget, but it wasnt the anesthesia yet. Thats ALL I REMEMBER 😂 and that wasnt even when I got my anesthesia. Anyways I remember a nurse tapping my arm and saying “get up, wake up” and thats it. I dont remember her walking me to the car, or the car ride. My mom said she even stopped at cvs on the way home and I dont even remember that. My mom said the entire car ride I was just mumbling but she couldnt hear my words. She said it was like I was asleep and sleep talking but I was awake (I didnt say nothing bad or crazy. I was pretty out of it and was just mumbling like a dream) she said the only things she did hear me say in the car is when I would randomly jump up and ask where I was but then would go right back out of it. She said I asked where I was 5 times in the car. I remember getting home and I think I walked myself in…? But I dont know exactly. I forget the walk inside but then I remember my mom giving me milk and it was just pouring out of my mouth everywhere so she had to give it to me over the trashcan. Then I remember her saying “ok go upstairs to bed” and then me going to sleep. I dont remember anything from when I woke up either other than me still needing to drink over the sink and still a bit of amnesia. Apparently my mom gave me cotton balls to take up and I dont remember that. 😂😂 I didnt say much other than mumble and groan
damn that lasted long. I was on my feet the moment they took me back to the room for observation. I remember the doctor even coming to tell me to go to bed cause my legs might be weak. I was like nope im ready to go home. Two hours after that i was having dinner (from what i could eat) and the best part was that i didnt have swellings or pain. I had 13 teeth removed. But i bet your mom was laughing at you hahaha
@@olliethetabby i was a holy poop when they were mounting everything but as you said i just remember sitting in the chair and the next moment was when they were waking me up
Why is this video only for adults of "limited capacity" to understand? I understand perfectly well that I suffer from severe dental phobia and am allergic to local anaesthetic. It's dentists and the NHS that don't understand that.

My 96 yr old mom with dementia is having conscious sedation for a crown. Hope it goes well...very expensive.
Help as soon as I heard “hospital”I freaked out😭
Same here
Idk why this took me out 😂

even with conscious sedation you should be fine. Is that an option? You wont sleep but you wont be much aware of the extraction
What if you don't want to be put into sleep ?
then you wont be put to sleep
Can this be done only by the mask and not applying drip IV?
How long does it take for the anesthesia to ware off,how many hours ? Thanks
it wears off the moment they stop giving you the anesthetic. They literally wake you up in the same way that your mom use to wake you up for school :)
