Why can’t you use your phone after sedation?

    • @leagravedentalsedationclin768

Hello. The intravenous sedation drug can cause amnesia and so patients may not remember the conversations they had or what they said over the phone. We therefore advise patients not to use the phone after a sedation procedure.

Is sedation safe? Can this be a cure for severe phobia?

Hi Jay. Sedation is a very safe way for dentally anxious patients to have treatment.

@@leagravedentalsedationclin768 How do you deal with people who go in to severe vasovagal syncopy from having a needle stuck in them for the IV BEFORE the sedation has been administered. I also have severe fainting reactions to local anaesthetic, be it injected or put on my skin. In the dental environment, if I'm in full blown syncopy ie severely decreased blood pressure, hyperventilating, profuse sweating, pins and needles, possible weak heart activity, and 80% of the way to passing out, are you still going to pump me full of Midazolam, knowing that injecting local anesthetic in my mouth could make me even worse, regardless of whether the Midazolam puts me properly out, which it's not supposed to do, or are you going cancel the treatment and refer to me hospital for gas general anaesthetic?
