I will be a 70 yr old senior lady in October. I had been going to the ymca for quite awhile til I had some bad back problems and horrible sciatic pain. The last surgery was July ‘18. Pain is gone but lack of strong muscles. I am going to start these exercises because I do believe they will help my core and back strong. Thanks for the excellent moves.

I like the 5 seconds. When my sister had her baby, she started with one sit-up. Next day 2, etc. I think I’ll give that sequence a try, 1 then 2… Have to go slowly. Too much pain and everything out of wack. My strength is gone. Lots of surgery. Hang in there everyone!😊

Hello Dr. Rowe, and thank you for sharing such useful videos.
I did my lumbar spine surgery ( lumber 5-sacral 1 pedicle screw fixation plus right lumber 5 - sacral 1 interlaminar decompression ) in June , 2022. I have been advised to start back strengthening exercises, and I was struggling to find the appropriate post surgery excercises for back strengthining.
I searched for many sources and I found your videos and instructions more reliable and appropriate. Thus, I would appreciate it if you recommend me with the most appropriate excercises for post lumbar spine surgery.
    Thanks,
    Mirza

Your videos are life changing for me. I have siatica but feel many stretches don't really help but your stretches relieved the pain more 1-10 I'm usually a 8 CONSTANTLY but your guidance I'm a 7 or 6 .best its been in 7 years. . But I get cramps in my back muscles, legs with stretching . Often when relaxing also. My biggest issue of pain is when sleeping around my shoulder ,middle back muscles that ache and pulsating all nite with pain increasing and intolerable to the point where I cant sleep and need to get up
    .
I've been to 1 chiropractor who done a sort of twist and pop of the siatic muscle and it was amazing and pain free for months . He retired and every other chiropractor I've seen always crack my spine ,neck then says return every 2 wks for the same thing costing 100 ea visit and I cant keep paying for no relief. Can you suggest anything to help please. It limits 70 % of my normal functions.
    Thank you

Great video! I’m 21 but I work in a tire shop so I’m constantly bending and maneuvering myself. Do you have exercises that can help with mild scoliosis? The middle of my back area is slightly curved, less than 15 degrees or 10 degrees one of the two, and I want to focus on back strength but also stretch the back to help alleviate some of the discomfort from bending up and down

thank you! I have a lumbar-thoracic scoliosis and my PT recommends in general that I keep my left hip higher and let the right hip ‘sink’ down a little when I’m standing; they call that “standing in the correction” (i’m translating, I live in the Netherlands).
for the exercise at the end where you are raising your hip, they only recommend I do that lifting my left hip up but not the right side. Because if I did the other side it would be ‘encouraging’ the curve. Does that make sense to you? I realize you are unable to diagnose from a TH-cam comment section ;) - I’m just curious because sometimes I feel “uneven“ from just raising one side. It does help however.

I’ve been in pain for decades. I hurt my back as a kid. Always used my upper back to compensate. No core anymore, disabled, in my 60’s. I had a chiropractor tell me I wasn’t designed for lifting. I agree, but what I did for my whole life 😆? Heavy lifting. Never could lift 100# , 80# I could do. I’m 5’ and female, with a long torso. In the Upper Michigan, shoveling snow could be a sport. Banks 7’ high, had to throw up over my head. Etc.
