That's what makes Jim Nantz one of the greats. He has great calls and he is, as the late Stuart Scott said countless times, as cool as the other side of the pillow
I would argue the opposite. Guys like jim nantz who have the "main mic" dry out the game. The best commentary is from younger passionate commentators or former players. These guys sound like robots trying to figure out joyous emotions for the first time.

I suspect that, even with Suggs’ heroics, UCLA had something to do with Gonzaga getting blown out by Baylor two nights later. The Bruins wore them down and the Bears pounced. Makes sense, them both being ursine and all.

Seriously, UCLA vs Gonzaga was maybe the greatest Sports Game in my 38 years of being alive. For me I have Giants/Bills superbowl & Giants vs 18-0 Patriots but this is up there or it's maybe in a league of it's own. No one will ever forget this entire game

I remembered my mom, my wife (girlfriend at the time) and I watched this game. I told them that the Zags were going to win, since Few wanted to get the game winning basket right away, instead of calling the timeout.
My favorite thing about the CBS broadcast perspective was the Baylor fans in the background in despair, as if Gonzaga was gonna be a problem in the natty.
I'm a Zags fan was screaming don't call a time out & UCLA players was like double overtime here we go but Suggs knows the drill Kispert kicking that ball off with no pressure on Kispert throwing it in to Suggs because he's really fast & really surprised UCLA coach wasn't screaming 3.3 seconds left D up (defense) then game would of been different but that's why they call it March madness Spokane Washington went crazy

Duh & I'm not even a NBA pro prospect like most of them playing but I've played basketball before & ain't over til theirs no time on the clock I've seen other really good defensive teams steal the ball then win the game surprised UCLA coach wasn't screaming D up (defense) but UCLA players thought they would just go to double overtime
