I would like to know the feelings you both have concerning the .40 cal round. It seems that the "culture" is more interested in the 9mm and even the .45 cal, than the forty. I am a .40 cal and a 357 sig fan and would like to know your combined feelings on both..Thank you!
Plinking! Yes! I grew up plinking, hunting, no shooting competition. I spent 28yrs in the Army. I was infantry branch. Lots of competing there amongst your peers. I like accurate guns, I like fast vehicles, and I like to, at 62, shooting for a beer a few!. Thanks guys. Thanks for explaining to the young ones. Stay frosty.
Just bought my first WC - EDC 9X . After years of buying and shooting (a lot) some pretty good 1911’s - Colts, DW’s, etc - I now truly understand the difference between a really good one and a great one.
Such a pleasure to listen and just try absorb as much as I can from 2 absolute legends. Thank you for making this series! I am still in the trade a gun when you want one phase of life but after my kids are done with college, I will own a Wilson combat firearm. #1 on my bucket list. I can't say thank you enough, truly a joy to witness 2 of my heroes having a conversation.

Thanks for the insight. Shoot IPSC and was just commenting the other day that a few years back I shot a major match, had to take two ferries two nights in a hotel for a total of 1 minute and twelve seconds of shooting.

Look at IDPA today and it is following the same direction USPA went. I also drove hours to a match and the goal was to have the shortest time shooting. What made it worthwhile was the other great people you meet.
Bill, please convince idpa to allow 7-8 shots revolvers, I mean they allowed 15rnds in ssp why not up the level playing field for us wheel gun lover . Great show guys

When one looks at categories, there indeed are shooters, hunters and collectors. Of the shooters, a good many are gamers. IDPA and USPSA are both fun. USPSA over-emphasizes speed. IDPA over-emphasizes accuracy (no one shoots on the move -- afraid of non-A hits).

My Wilson Combat is probably the best made firearm I own. That said, they quoted me $2100 to mill the slide for a red dot....NOT including the optic or anything other than just a basic milling of the slide. EVERY other well known machinist company and "customizing" company charges between $150 and $245 for a simple milling job. Again, great guns but absolutely zero ethics and integrity. I've always heard but never believed that Bill Wilson is not a very good person, but since he sets the rules at Wilson, it is clear he is an arrogant, self-absorbed price gouger. Sorry, but I'm not going to pay 10 times the reasonable going rate so Wilson can buy more companies or more toys. Truly disappointing that someone I admired turned out to be a hypocritical price-gouging phony. Save the replies that I can shop elsewhere....I'm well aware. Just wanted to share the unprofessionalism of someone many people idolize.
Terrific guns but overpriced. I was happy to pay a little more for the pistol because of their great customer service and warranty policy. However, I too inquired about the cost of slide milling and was shocked that they wanted over $2000 for the exact job I had done for $210....and the quality of work for $210 was terrific. As you said, the arrogance and treating customers as idiots is off the charts. I lost a lot of respect for both Wilson and the company when they quoted me the price. I asked for the quote 3 times since I thought I misunderstood.
I look forward so much to listen to you two gentlemen. Thank you both for your knowledge time and common sense.

Funny to hear them talk about IDPA. Most of the equipment rule changes in the past couple years have swung it back toward what USPSA does.
