I don't know if the community is like this anymore( I'm old) but I remember people would be straight up angry over altering brand because it was (this is really weird and hard to explain) "ruining their chances of getting a certain piece". They had a bizarre possessiveness and entitlement of other people's clothing as if something they want that's owned by someone else should be always be available to be sold to them. Crazy days 😅

Thankfully I think the culture has shifted a lot! I think even within the community, lolita is being seen more as "normal clothes", and treating them that way.

Love this!! It’s always so exciting to watch people make alterations to their brand to better fit them and yours turned out really nice! I also really loved the way you mixed the lace with chiffon on the bustle. I feel like most people would have just settled for plain chiffon, but that little extra detail really works well with embroidery on the skirt! Super excited to see more sewing content from you 💜

Cute! The lace goes so well! And looks like it could be worn in the front too

Hacking apart brand is so scary 😖 but you did such a great job!!! The bustle is such a good idea and it turned out so cute 😍

LOL I know I'm late to the video but I have a thought. The smaller bustle reminds me of dresses that have a side or front side bustle. Maybe you could style it that way sometimes. You did a great job.

What a beautiful alteration! The bustle complements the skirt's style super well, and the lace you added in those layers is so precious

I think you did a beautiful job! I have an IW jsk that I have most of the material needed to make the alteration, I just need to find the time!
