Everything all comes down to the powercreep, and not that of the characters, but rather the enemy HP amount. If characters experienced power creep but enemy HP never increased over time, all your previous DPS like Jingliu, etc would still be as relevant today as they were at launch since their damage numbers can still match the HP amounts.
I'll be honest after all the popular gachas I've played over 4 years now, vertical investing is the way to go. Reason is simple, it's quite frustrating to pull for characters that benefit only for end-game content like MOC, AS, or even PF. Hence, why I'm just gonna pull for Eidolons for my fav. characters such as Firefly and Acheron. Maybe I might pull for Herta, because she's also one of my favs as well.
In a lot of cases i would follow the same thing. but the thing is that hsr is a TURN-BASED gacha. here hp inflation and hard counters to certain niches exist : break : locked or massive toughness bars (denying break) counter playstyle : dot enemies, enemies that rely on indirect attacks ( Aventurine's dice phase's punishment cant be countered) also stuns dot : enemies with high eff res, enemies with high spd, enemies with crazy hp,any enemy with a cleanse mechanic(perhaps a future mechanic) fua : countering enemies ( with nuke dmg ), enemies with new mechanics (perhaps a % dodge chance) ( this one is a reach as i cant find a sure fire way to render them useless so ig this is an exception) nihility: release of busted harmony characters, natural hp creep from mobs, eff res enemies(?), any enemy with a cleanse mechanic(perhaps a future mechanic), high spd enemies. traditional hypercarry : natural powercreep about the last one : it's the reason why i find vertical investment ( in dps characters) to be pretty bad since E2 dhil and E1 jingliu are no longer considered meta or even comparable to E0 2.X characters... they cant hold a candle to feixiao or such with all that being said vertically investing in supports is the number one way to increase ur account value and E1 ruan mei is farrrr more valuable than most E2 dps in the game since she's essentially always viable. E1 robin is the same, sunday's E1 isnt that great but will still be better to pick up on a rerun than perhaps a new dps. All in all vertical investment in the RIGHT PLACES is the correct option, i would never invest in a dps beyond E0S1 but then again every man's acc is their own decision. :D
@@alexgo331 if I really like Acheron, and want to get her E2, would actually pulling for E1 Ruan Mei/E1 Robin be more valuable (considering I can use them in Acheron's team sometimes) or it depends/nah?
People really exaggerate the difficulty and counters of this game. Powercreep is real in this game and you ain't gonna clear anything fast with Seele or Blade for most content. I'm sure there will be harder counters for stuff down the line but I've yet to see any end game content I couldn't brute force with my DHIL E2 Hyprrcarry & FF E2 break team combo. But my DHIL E2 is still used for full clearing all end game content, including the current Dot PF despite being a 1.X character. He's definitely weaker than Feixiao but I really don't need to be 0 cycling anything. He should be a little bit more competitive with 2.X characters with the Sunday buff as well, so I can't imagine myself being unable to full clear content for a few more months with my current box
@@alexgo331 I just want to add to your comment : you can easily counter FuA teams with enemies locking their HP bars (or highly increasing their def/res) out of turn. It could also be done with enemies that could only be damaged by a specific type of action (BA/skill/ult) (which is interesting as some leaks have been talking about this kind of mechanics...)
All fun and games till the E0 performance of a future character is better than your E2 2.X dps, then the game is balanced around them, and then even your vertical investment won’t save you. I have a few E2s btw and loads of Sig LCs and stuff, but I KNOW those won’t save me from powercreep, they will just give the units who I own them some more time before powercreep catches up. Like my E2 DHIL has worse performance than my E0S1 Fei FUA team, and in 3.X I won’t be surprised if a dps has a better performance at E0S1 than my E2S1 acheron. Thats the nature of the game man.
The best break dps for pure fiction is himeko, my e0 himeko 40k the first half with aventurine, jiaoqiu and ruan mei (crit build, all supports at e0s1)
I think firefly is probably better HOWEVER I strongly think we're entering a phase in hsr that favors erudition teams, so rappa will likely have more relevance moving forward. that being said, a well invested firefly will be just fine and actually worth making better w/eidolons if you want to main her, but you'll probably want to get fugue (and lingsha) frfr.
So now what we need to know is if Fugue is better than Ruan Mei in the last team, if not, BE players can skip the patch and go full out on Herta + Aglaea
You can checkout RappaMains subreddit. There is a post there about detailed dps computations for Rappa + Gallagher, and then different combinations of Ruan Mei, HMC, and Fugue. I dunno if there's one for Firefly. I say it's a great representation.
I honestly think it's going to be a while before we have a team for RMC. By the time we have a RMC team, we won't want to use break teams because we will have new toys to play with.
Yeah, I doubt we will get the new path immediately in 3.0. Do people even remember that we got fire and harmony versions of the mc quite late in their plantes; last boss in Jarilo vi and at patch 2.2 for harmony (all 6 eidolons even later).
i have NEVER had a problem in PF and i barely use Break (no rappa and lingsha, have everyone else) Himeko and herta will carry you even with a bit of unfavorable elements if they cant you have a GEARING/Skill/Team building problem
People seriously voting over 90% for Rappa? Are they serious? 😭😭 Firefly is a top 3 DPS for a reason, and she is being pitted against the boss she is best against. Chat’s wild.
