My theory for the slower Pokemon is that since Alola is so tropical and peaceful, the pokemon didn't need to be fast because it was easy to get fruit or food whenever. So their need to be fast declined and now they are very slow.
Dino Flash and fast pokemon like midday Lycanroc and Salazzle are fast for some reason. Lycanroc hunts during the day alone (it tells so on the website) and Salazzle is a bandit so she needs to be fast.
In regards to tracking Zygarde cells, I would like to record the locations of Zygarde cells I already found, not know how many I have percentage wise :)
Truegreen7 You do know you can check the percentage of zygarde cells in your zygarde cube, right? just go to Key Items in your bag, select the zygarde cube and click "Check". I've already gotten 82%. you're welcome :D
Jake Wharton I saw the character do it once in a cutscene, and I was like, "Yes! They made it so it changes!" But then it almost never did it again, no matter wtf was happening to them. It's so jarring.
To be honest.. I cried when Lillie had traveled to kanto. The game was so immersive, the characters, story. and interactions with the player won my heart over. This is the best gaming experience I've had in awhile and I hope the Nintendo Switch will have a HD VR remake for gen 7 and we could see Lillie.
I liked all the pokemon games untill sun/moon, then I loved sunandmoon the second the credits started rolling. I think i loved this game more than others because the game wasn't about us, but about Lillie.
The moment Lillie's theme started playing I reflexively started tearing up before I even realized what track it was. Damn, this game really got me in the feels.
Yeah XD (In Aether Paradise when Lusamine is about to open the Ultra Wormhole) Gladion: >:( Hau: :O Lillie: :( Your character: :D Me: NO NO NO NEBBY IS GONNA DIE NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Maromania I had weak Pokemon so I had to do that scene 9 times and then I just grabbed rare candy and leveled up my Torracat so it could one hit kill with a Z move
I don't see why people hate the Gen 5 EXP System. It keeps you from extreme overleveling while, if the grinding methods are good (which I agree SM kinda lacked), is such a good system to get your Pokemon to a higher level quick, even better then the older system. It's *literally* the best of both worlds.
My complaints: The game is really linear and handholding, Team Skull isn't at all threatening, characters aren't as mature and well written as in BW, there's barely any postgame, and the mere presence of Hau is enough to ruin a previously enjoyable conversation.
I agree with everything that you said except for the last two things you mentioned.. How can you say that the characters aren't as mature and well written as Black and White when the protagonists are 11-13 year olds? The characters in Black and White were around 15-16 which meant they were in their angsty and 'i'm a grown up now so leave me be' stage. and holy crap there were actually good written characters in Black and White? The only character given development from Generation V was N. Don't even say that Bianca and Cheren had character development, because they didn't. Specifically Bianca and the problem with her dad, After they settle things in Nimbasa City because of Elesa, she completely forgets about it and never even mentions anything about Elesa or the problem with her dad in BW2. Cheren on the other hand's 'Character development' was also shitty. He studied so hard about Pokemon and yet the main character is still better than him after defeating him multiple times. Yea sure, he did learn from his mistakes, but that was it. He didn't use that motivation in BW2, he just became a gym leader who would help the BW2 protagonist from time to time. Just like Bianca, it's like he completely forgot about it. Cheren and Bianca were in the game just because the Player needed a rival/friend. and also Hau is a cinnamon roll! If it weren't for him and Prof. Kukui, were there EVEN any bright and happy conversations in Sun and Moon to begin with? Don't think so. Sorry for this long-ass comment, I was just really suprised on what you said that BW had well written and mature characters when there actually isn't. But heeey that's just my opinion, I'll float away now..
Bianca's development was learning to accept her limits, and Cheren like Blue learned to stop being power hungry and be happy with what he had. And I guess you're right about the mature dialogue in SM thing.
Michael Bongiorno I don't see how linearity automatically equals a bad experience. I'd prefer a game be linear and unforgettable contrary to open world and bland. Long story short I hate how Kanto is structured. And as for Team Skull. Do all pokemon villains need to be threatening? Like at all? Team Skull makes up for that plentyfold in personality and originality so I'd prefer the traditional villain card just not be used in exchange for a team I can actually remember. But I agree with you on Hau though.
Anabel: yet another teasing at the Battle Frontier we never got. The main game is good. By far way better than XY. However the aftergame is a big meh. Sure you can do some UB stuff, but guess what, that are almost the same Looker missions as we had in XY. And what else? Half a tiny Island to explore. There is a serious lack of post game content. Even trainers and captains can't be battled again outside the League or Battle Tree. In other words, if you want to Hyper Train, you'll have to do the Pokémon League over and over and over again. Biggest flaw in gen 7.
DanGaming+ Like he said, barely anybody ever wants to complete the pokedex. Also the shiny charm is arguable only important to pure shiny hunters or just competitive battlers not your average pokemon fan.
I still don't understand the appeal of the Battle Frontier. It's just five buildings with a gimmick that doesn't really change much. And they all usually boil down to one thing: "Battle X amount of trainers (which is usually a stupid amount) and fight the Frontier Brain who you know NOTHING about."
**Semi-Spoilers** She went to go visit Bill so that umm...I'll just say that much. Anything else would delve into spoiler territory lol. Your question was probably rhetoric anyways. xD
Granite Dust **sigh** This is why I don't like people on the internet. I specifically stated in my previous comment, "Your question was probably rhetoric anyways". So I was already cognizant of the possibility that the OP knew the reason behind Lillie leaving. The reason my comment wasn't "pointless" is because even knowing that she leaves, it isn't told to you until a little later why she spefically did so. Hence why I stated why I did. If you've only witnessed Lillie's departure, you still don't know precisely why she did. So no, my comment was not, "**literally** pointless" (please learn what literally means before using it any context that is not literal btw, it only makes you look dumb). I would actually say that your comment is the one that is "pointless"; not literally pointless, but pointless nonetheless. Oh yeah, and one last thing. How do you know if the OP knew reason behind Lillie's departure, when they never explicitly stated as such when they wrote their comment? Arbitrary assumptions are after all merely arbitrary. Good day to you sir! :)
Professor Dexter Sparkington III should have been able to say if you've gotten all the Zygarde Cells in an area or island at least. Like I kinda don't understand why Sina or Dexio didn't add such a feature onto him so he could tell you "Zzt! Wow, kid, you found every Zygarde Core on Akala Island! Now that'zzz what I'm talking about!" or something. And like... you walk into a route and he'll say he can detect a Zygarde Core. I think I'm just over 75% done finding all the cores, but I haven't actively been looking for them, either. Great review though, Ron! I fully agree with what you said, though you didn't talk about Island Scans or the lack of HMs (o praise be to our might Legendary Pokemon for this gift of Ride Pokemon), but I don't think you needed to, either. I think our protagonist is really spacey and is always thinking about food or something when stuff is happening. Lusamine verbally abusing her daughter? Protagonist doesn't hear this, for he is thinking of cheese.
***** ... :D Well, I guess that makes me an idiot lol. In my defence, I'm playing HeartGold while watching videos and trying to think of what to call my rival other than "Bucket".
the biggest problem in sun and moon is: 1: to much handholding 2: most are slow as hell 3: the so call rotomdex is just to annoying and with that i mean if you press the "map" the rotom more or less start to talk and take about 2-5 times before you get the map up 4: all the totem and the trainers are just to easy and has no challenges 5: the main character has no personalty and it's kinda sad 6: why had zygarde in the game if that pokemon didn't have a big role (remember the trailer how it look like he hade something about the story) but if you overlook the stuff bad stuff i say this is one of the greatest game. the only game i like as much this is X&Y
nightmare09 'the main character has no personality and it's kinda sad'. When has any main pokemon game main character had personality? I'd say sun has the most personality out of them all.
Ace Ragnarok maybe for you but for me it took longer to finish the dame trails then beat the totem pokemons, all you really need is a pokemon with some kind of sleepmoves and there you go you have won the game but tell me then why you think they were hard, for i don't get how they are hard (for if you know your pokemongames you should not have a hard time)
To be honest, even though I LOVE Pokemon Sun and Moon, way too much was removed in favor of the game looking nice. For example, The PSS, Super Training, triple and rotation battles, pokemon companions, and wild double battles were all either removed or haven't returned. It's a real shame. In my opinion, they should've focused more on tightening up the gameplay than focusing on the graphics.
You say the Rotom Dex "wasn't obnoxious at all." I respectfully disagree. Many times during the main adventure, Rotom would not allow me to tap on the map to view the map - it would just tell me over and over whatever it last told me. For example, it would just keep telling me the "dreamboat Ilima" thing and not let me use the map. I was forced, many times, to go to the Pokedex and check the habitat of a Pokemon just to look at the map and see where I was. I found it incredibly obnoxious. There should be a button, or a specific area, on the Rotom which you can tap to have its message repeated. The way they've implemented it makes it impossible at times to tap on the map to view the region map. It's a very poor design choice.
What about the touch screen? it is the weakest use of the touch screen in my opinion. Don't get me wrong the map is awesome but I wanted more functions! And never forget the PSS T-T
Wait... YOU TELLING ME THAT GREEN SHIRTS ARE ONLY AVAIBLE IN THE SHOPS OF MOON WHILE I'M IN THE POSTGAME OF SUN STILL TRYING TO GET THE BERRIES TO PAINT MY CLOTHES OF GREEN!!!!!?????? FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU...........!!!!!!!!!!!!
when lusamine said that line I laughed I actually had a tsareena that I got from an early game trade I quickly fell in love with it's high attack power and it became stronger and more used than my starter at the observatory I bought several proteins to max out my trareena's attack and then used all the rare candies I had been saving up only to remember it was a trade pokemon and now it was several levels above what I could use but I kept it with me until it began listening to me again
my favourite pokemon games are the sinnoh games and my 2nd favourites are the Unova games. That opinion will probably not change in a long time. And it didn't change after I've played sun and moon, but damn were the games fun none the less ^^
Least favorite: Diamond/Pearl- slowest battles(slower than totem battles) make grinding hell and boring forced story moments and worst rival 3rd favorite: Black2 White2- amazing story and interesting characters but lack of new Pokémon 2nd favorite: ORAS Pokémon at its most pure form. Delta Episode furthers plot. Favorite: Moon Story gave me feels, Lillie was amazing, loved Nebby, atmospheric.
Did you forget about Platinum? it fixed pretty much EVERYTHING with diamond and Pearl. lol And what was so bad about Barry? he wasn't a jerk like blue or silver, which I actually found a relief. He is technically also the strongest rival if you count his post game battles where his guys are in the low 80's. He also has REALLY strong pokemon. he was the only rival that i actually made sure I was completely ready to fight.
I got my Cosmoem to 1 exp from evolving, transferred it over to Sun just to get the 1 exp, and then transferred the Solgaleo back. I'm going to do the same, reliving the game on Pokemon Sun. I love Gen VII and it'll probably stay that way for at least the next three years.
This video might be honest, but I don't feel like it is very critical. I like sun and moon. But not everything was perfect, and you barely touched on the negatives, while elaborating on the positives for ages.
I guess you didn't notice that half of the gameplay section and parts of the plot section were dedicated to the negatives. I even talked about the negatives in the music section, which I rarely do. But overall, I honestly loved the games and it would be deceiving and confusing to some if I focused too much on the negatives.
ive only got 3 issues with this game 1. speed, but thats mainly cause i have the first 3ds 2. lack of any real end game content, but then i dont think anything tops gold and silver 3. how surprisingly difficult it was to find the new alola pokemon, you would think region specific pokemon would be more common but things like Mareanie can only be found from battling a corsola and getting it to sos. even things like stufful and comfey are very rare to find.
This is genuinely one of the most well-prepared, thought-out, elaborate Pokémon videos I've ever watched. I already loved Sun and Moon, but now the words as to why are clear and in front of me. Thanks TrueGreen.
The story of Sun and Moon I both liked and hated the same time. At first it was a really nice storyline but when I had the feeling that it was really getting started and now I have reached the core of the story it suddenly ended. The core is actually the ending and I was just sitting there thinking "... and that's it??" The story also made it feel like I had less free will and chance to explore things by myself than during any other Pokemon game. When I entered a certain area the next cutscene automatically played and I was forcefully pushed and pulled along if I wanted it or not. If I think about all the positive and the negative things in this game the negative ones really outweigh the positive ones. I haven't fully completed it yet (I am right before challenging the elite 4 and I have never felt less motivated to do so) but I doubt that something absolutely wonderful and lifesaving (for this game) will come along after the elite 4. I thought that Ruby and Saphire were the worst - after all I disliked Ruby so much that after playing it I didn't want to touch any of the following games for years - but Sun and Moon could defintely beat them. At least to Ruby I wasn't looking forward that much so it also couldn't disappoint me. After X and Y were so great that I bought both games and played them several times and ORAS were wonderful remakes of once awful games I really expected something better from the following games.
John Titor Do you really feel that way? XY are considered the weakest games in the series and ORAS are incredibly unfaithful to the originals unlike FRLG and HGSS.
Michael Bongiorno honestly, ORAS's deviation from the originals might be why some people like them so much. As much as people praise Ruby and Sapphire, the characters of the originals were rather static, and old Aqua and Magma were basically just Blue bad guys and Red bad guys. Their motivations and personalities were expanded much more in ORAS(even though people still want to generalize ORAS!Archie's intentions as wanting to flood the world). Certain aspects of the old games were made better, like Secret Bases and Contests. And the DexNav truly won many hearts with how useful it was. Of course, I can agree that XY wasn't exactly "groundbreaking" in terms of storyline and character interaction. But to give some credit, it did introduce character customization and super training, and the introduction of fairy type to finally take dragons down another notch
honestly, i like sun and moon overall. it might actually be my favorite. it coombined the story of gen 5, the epic final starter sets of gen 6 and 5, and is overall perfect
Happy Holidays, Ron! I agree with many of your sentiments here, except that I personally came to the conclusion that I love each main Pokemon game about the same while playing this game, specifically when I came across Grimsley. I understood that I wouldn't have appreciated half of the things put into a game like Sun and Moon without having been a fan of the franchise for how long it's been. Good review, and I hope you enjoy your continued success here on TH-cam come 2017, as well as your personal life, of course.
How would remaking games that don't need remakes a generation earlier than they're likely to happen make it better? Since the Gen 1 remakes were in Gen 3 as well, they should be up again next. Though I'd honestly prefer they include Kanto as a post game in the upcoming Switch title(s) so as to give us extra story since that's where Lillie went. Making a game that'smostly a graphical update is completely unnecessary. Sinnoh can still be played on the current system while the only version of a Kanto based game you can play on the 3DS is the first ones which are nothing like the Gen 4+ games. Go play them if you want them, but don't make them fuck up harder than they did with OR/AS.
Sigils, ETHEC. They obviously saved the Original Dragon for the BW remakes, and they'd better not use SuMo's cutesy cel shading. They need to keep that signature Unova gloom.
Sigils, ETHEC. ORAS was great, it had problems that was fixed in SuMo, but it was great other than those. IF they make a Sinnoh remake, they'll likely remember their errors in ORAS and fix it. Michael Bongioro, we are most definitely not getting Johto or Unova remakes in these generations as we already have access to their starters and usually they don't have starters multiple times in a generation unless, you know, third version. So, yeah.
how did you get such good quality pictures, when i search up the same Pokemon pictures and put them into sony vegas and render, it comes out blurry. I'm just asking in general from a lot of your videos.
Well if you're one of those people who never played Pokemon before then Sun and Moon is the game for you but if you try to go back to playing older Pokemon games then yeah you may not be a real fan if you're not familiar how things used to work back then.
francisjairam Anyone who plays Pokemon and likes the product is a fan. It doesnt matter how many games youve played through. Thats just a rude thing to say.
I feel like S&M took a huge step down from the previous gen. What I really loved about OR&AS was the secret bases that had the EXP Blissey's that made training your Pokemon a breeze. Now it's a pain to train your Pokemon because of the lack of trainers. In OR&AS you could rebattle previous trainers for EXP and not have to deal with wild pokemon a lot. It's a shame that Game Freak gave Zygarde the boot yet again, but Ash-Greninja is fun to use and I enjoy beating Red with Ash-Greninja.
while in my opinion ORAS are the best pokemon games in the whole series I don't think the full 3D conversion is why sun and moon are inferior I would say it is because they removed super training a way of customizing EVs they didn't add any new megas the Z-moves while interesting are simple and broken once you understand them Z-moves take 30 seconds or so to go through their animation with no way of skipping it turning animations OFF in the options menu doesn't turn off any of the annoyingly long animations like Z-move animations Victory Road is short and easy and was better in literally every other game
I fucking love gen 7. I cried at the end of the elite 4, SPOILERS: I was hoping Lillie would stay, adventuring with me. But she just, moved. Moved away and I couldn't follow. What hurt the most is Lillie was doing the right thing, as much as I wanted her to stay at my side forever, she was doing it for herself and her mother. At that point, I really, really, really wish I could have told her goodbye. Friends don't move away in fantasy worlds or stories! JUST GOD DAMN POKEMON PLAY ALL THE HEART STRINGS WHY DON'T YOU!!
I really enjoyed this video along with the top 10 New Pokémon in Sun and Moon. Maybe because we share a certain way to play Pokémon games (from what I can gather in your commentary) and our teams and experieces while playing seem really similar. I find the way you treat the franchise while talking about it is very respectful to the effort that is put into each game and I love the emotion you put into your words. For all these reasons, I think you're one of my favourite Pokétubers (I'd say, you're in my top 3) and hands down your videos are the most enjoyable to me, compared to all other Pokémon themed. All in all, great work!
I like that both of us used the approach of only new Alolan Pokémon and we only have 2 that overlap. I went with Incineroar, Decidueye (wonder trade), Vikavolt, Mudsdale, Mimikyu and Toxapex. I was only lukewarm towards my team when I had Lycanroc and Golisopod on my team. Once I switched them out for Vikavolt and Toxapex the whole thing just clicked. That's what makes Pokémon games great to me. That moment when after 20 or so Pokémon you finally end up with the team that works and that the chances of someone ending up with the same in-game team is pretty much impossible. That's why I like the main game more than the competitive play. Because you can beat the campaign with just about any Pokémon with enough leveling your team can end up being just about anything while you wait for everything to come together.
No you aren't alone, Kalos was a good region that just got screwed over in favor of Alola. Sun & Moon are set in "Another Tropical Island Region" which ORAS gave us, it's almost like GameFreak just wants to retire to some tropical island these days. Team Flare had an awesome concept, if only we got a game "Z" that wasn't trapped in the realm of E10+ & could go Teen for a Platinum treatment (darker than DP), with an Emerald like Postgame. Would rather have gotten that than Sun & Moon.
YES! ATMOSPHERIC! THAT IS THE EXACT WORD FOR THIS GAME'S MUSIC! And I have to agree with you in this review man, this game have a completely different style of a classic pokemon game, but it feels good!
ron there actually was a way to check ur progress, u have to use it as an item on a pokemon and when it tells u u can't use it as an item it tells u ur progress
The stupid smile on my characters face bothered me the entire time. World is in chaos? People's lives are in danger? Everyone is freaking out? Apparently I have no worries, so I'll just smile.
Liam Lucas-Mullen Yeah dude same, i had a growlithe that i hoped would be able to take down Lurantis but there were so many things in my way 1. Synthesis (let me just say..... fuck synthesis 2. Growlithe was to goddamn slow 3. The fucking ally pokemon was ridicoulus Lurantis was definetly the hardest totem pokemon
I described the Alolan music as "pulling an Undertale", because a lot of the music are similar to others, like the Aether Base's theme and Aether Battle Theme.
Postgame is one of the major problems in my opinion along with the lack of Super Training.Other than that, great games...But due to the postgame being kind of trash... and people thinking that they are rushed for the 20th anniversary... I think they will be known as Good Pokémon games, but not great. :/
Although I personally don't believe Sun and Moon was rushed, I do believe something happened in its development. It doesn't feel like a 3DS game. I think it was probably originally planned for the Switch, and then the Switch was delayed and then they wanted a game out this year. (People would be worried if there was no Pokémon game 2 years in a row AND definitely on the anniversary.) So they probably ported (Heh! Get it? That was actually accidental...) it to the 3DS and had to do a lot of things to get the game working on the 3DS.They also probably wanted to release a Switch version which I'm guessing is the rumored Pokémon Stars. (codename)As of such they probably removed some features of Sun and Moon to put in that game, such as a longer more thought-out postgame. Just my hypothesis though, probably wrong.
No Alola was rushed for the 20th Anniversary, if the goal was to not go 2 years in a row without new games we could have gotten Pokemon Z for 3DS, or even returned to Kanto. Negative things about Sun&Moon? Lets start with how crap the Trainer Customization is compared to XY.
To be fair Gen6 was abandoned before we got Pokemon Z the epic game that would have greatly improved on XY. Blame Alola for why we didn't get Pokemon Z.
ironically we could actually do that in Pokemon Colosseum & XD! Shadow Pokemon Saga needs more love! Gen 4 introduced the nightmarish feature of you can only catch 1 mon per battle, although Gens 6&7 made it so much worse with Horde Battles & SOS Pokemon.

Exactly I think this theory is well backed up
the only pokemon that speed is not right is dartrix

In regards to tracking Zygarde cells, I would like to record the locations of Zygarde cells I already found, not know how many I have percentage wise :)
Truegreen7 if you go to your bag go to the zygard cube click check it will tell your progress
Truegreen7 You do know you can check the percentage of zygarde cells in your zygarde cube, right? just go to Key Items in your bag, select the zygarde cube and click "Check". I've already gotten 82%. you're welcome :D
Anon the Anonymous yep and others were saying the same things. I noticed I read it wrong
its not always black and white but your heart always knows whats right
Truegreen7 oh good
I was about to get so pissed at you
I hate hate HATE how your character's expression is just a static smile.
Sam Hem I just imagined that my Pokemon trainer wanted to slaughter all in his past.
That's the reason why I gave my trainer sunglasses.
Sam Hem Well, at least he/she changes expression in the animated cutscenes and sometimes in battle...right?
Jake Wharton
I saw the character do it once in a cutscene, and I was like, "Yes! They made it so it changes!" But then it almost never did it again, no matter wtf was happening to them. It's so jarring.
Sam Hem I just hope they omit that entirely in gen 8. And the Battle Tree/Maison once and for all.
"Nebby, get in the bag!" - Lillie, Pokémon Sun and Moon, 2016
And the memes came.
Question: do you think that the meme is forced? I wanted to know from a personal contesuer
Alpha Beef Oh it wasn't forced. That meme was begging to happen.
ask silen then
Alpha Beef I believe that it became so iconic that it developed into a meme on its own.
These are my favorite games in the franchise now, and I've never had a definitive favorite Pokemon game up to this point.
Musomania27 same
Musomania27 yep I agree
My favourite prior to this was Sinnoh but these games are my new favourite!
I liked all the pokemon games untill sun/moon, then I loved sunandmoon the second the credits started rolling. I think i loved this game more than others because the game wasn't about us, but about Lillie.
Of course, gen 2 and 7 are tied for my favorite
Happy Holidays!!!!!!!!!

What if... Deoxys is an ultra beast... O_O
Nate Deoxys is from space. UBs are from alternate dimension. So, nope.
Nate possibly...
The only thing I remember is that Distortion World from Pokemon Platinum. That place still gives me the creep because of the music and the atmosphere.
Actually, for all we know, Giratina could be an Ultra Beast.
It's a little *Farfetch'd* but I think it's a good theory.
What if Arceus is an Ultra Beast?
seeing gen 6, I assumed we wont have a story as good as gen 5, But man oh man gen 7!
The moment Lillie's theme started playing I reflexively started tearing up before I even realized what track it was.
Damn, this game really got me in the feels.
OMG same.
Thank god someone thinks the same about the smile
yep -.-
Yeah XD
(In Aether Paradise when Lusamine is about to open the Ultra Wormhole)
Gladion: >:(
Hau: :O
Lillie: :(
Your character: :D
Me: NO NO NO NEBBY IS GONNA DIE NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Luc Elsby that's the worst thing about this beautiful game
I always saw it as him/her just hiding his/hers true emotions and feelings, which started my personal headcanon that s/he is a psychopath.
Luc Elsby I
ok but seriously though, what was up with that mallow mixing scene.
Press "A" to pound.
Maromania turn it into goo
Maromania I'm glad i'm not the only one who noticed😂
true gree 7 enjoyed it
Maromania I had weak Pokemon so I had to do that scene 9 times and then I just grabbed rare candy and leveled up my Torracat so it could one hit kill with a Z move
Michael Bongiorno dude those are your problems.

9:02 Glad I am not the only one whose heart got crushed by that sentence.
"Things aren't always black or white."
But your heart always knows what's right.
Coneyelerypo tapus ub,s battle tree completing the pokedex
Finish the Pokedex so you can get shiny charm to get shiny Pokemon and you can battle Morimoto once per day
DanGaming+ Like he said, barely anybody ever wants to complete the pokedex. Also the shiny charm is arguable only important to pure shiny hunters or just competitive battlers not your average pokemon fan.
I still don't understand the appeal of the Battle Frontier. It's just five buildings with a gimmick that doesn't really change much. And they all usually boil down to one thing:
"Battle X amount of trainers (which is usually a stupid amount) and fight the Frontier Brain who you know NOTHING about."
Jdoggad Then, just do it! (meme)
I miss Lillie! WHY DID SHE HAVE TO LEAVE!
Sunshine The Shiny Leafeon Maybe a kanto remake where Lillie is the champion 😰
I demand Game Freak for a third game that makes us go to Kanto to see Lillie.
**Semi-Spoilers**
She went to go visit Bill so that umm...I'll just say that much. Anything else would delve into spoiler territory lol. Your question was probably rhetoric anyways. xD
Hollow :D You know if this guy knows about Lillie leaving he must know why.
Your comment was literally pointless
Ten carat hills theme is so good
Nice profile picture of one of my favorite pokemon
I'm really glad you enjoyed, but I talked about my opinion of Pokeride and the lack of HM's twice in this video :) (just not in depth)
***** ... :D Well, I guess that makes me an idiot lol. In my defence, I'm playing HeartGold while watching videos and trying to think of what to call my rival other than "Bucket".
Ellie F
Mason Petro Yes..?
Great Review?
This guy compared Gen 7 story with Gen 5 story. No other game has made a greater story than Gen 5.
the biggest problem in sun and moon is:
1: to much handholding
2: most are slow as hell
3: the so call rotomdex is just to annoying and with that i mean if you press the "map" the rotom more or less start to talk and take about 2-5 times before you get the map up
4: all the totem and the trainers are just to easy and has no challenges
5: the main character has no personalty and it's kinda sad
6: why had zygarde in the game if that pokemon didn't have a big role (remember the trailer how it look like he hade something about the story)
but if you overlook the stuff bad stuff i say this is one of the greatest game. the only game i like as much this is X&Y
nightmare09 the totem pokemon were harder than the gyms
nightmare09 'the main character has no personality and it's kinda sad'. When has any main pokemon game main character had personality? I'd say sun has the most personality out of them all.
Ace Ragnarok I disagree, I one shot every totem pokemon and I tend to struggle in at least one gym.
Ace Ragnarok maybe for you but for me it took longer to finish the dame trails then beat the totem pokemons, all you really need is a pokemon with some kind of sleepmoves and there you go you have won the game
but tell me then why you think they were hard, for i don't get how they are hard
(for if you know your pokemongames you should not have a hard time)
nightmare09 i disagree with n4 because of mimikyu ability
Worst thing: pss changed with the fcking plaza
To be honest, even though I LOVE Pokemon Sun and Moon, way too much was removed in favor of the game looking nice. For example, The PSS, Super Training, triple and rotation battles, pokemon companions, and wild double battles were all either removed or haven't returned. It's a real shame.
In my opinion, they should've focused more on tightening up the gameplay than focusing on the graphics.
The ORAS PSS was good, but in X&Y it was just obnoxious. Festival plaza does all the same things, just with a couple more buttons.
Book Roach its way easier to EV train, speaking as a competitive player
Ar7ific1al click the actual map, not just the red flag
What about the touch screen? it is the weakest use of the touch screen in my opinion. Don't get me wrong the map is awesome but I wanted more functions!
And never forget the PSS T-T
should've made youngster Joey a battle tree guy.
and "the power of science is amazing" guy.
I liked how well you review the game!!! I also use Pokémon B/W 2 as a benchmark of how well the new games are....
Wait...
YOU TELLING ME THAT GREEN SHIRTS ARE ONLY AVAIBLE IN THE SHOPS OF MOON WHILE I'M IN THE POSTGAME OF SUN STILL TRYING TO GET THE BERRIES TO PAINT MY CLOTHES OF GREEN!!!!!??????
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU...........!!!!!!!!!!!!
In the Pokemon festival, if you go to dye shops, you can change the color of the shirts to green, if you have the dyes.
Astrojandro You can also recieve clothes from other trainers
Shafkat Chowdhury
I'm still trying to get the berries
Dexter Ferguson
I haven't found anyone wth a green shirt...
Astrojandro Do you have Sun or Moon?
when lusamine said that line I laughed
I actually had a tsareena that I got from an early game trade
I quickly fell in love with it's high attack power and it became stronger and more used than my starter
at the observatory I bought several proteins to max out my trareena's attack
and then used all the rare candies I had been saving up
only to remember it was a trade pokemon
and now it was several levels above what I could use
but I kept it with me until it began listening to me again
"So I was underleveled"
*shows a picture of him lvl 57 vs a lvl 50*
my favorite games in the series was gen 4. Notice the "was"
The Galactic Empire Mine was Gen 3
Mine is still Gen 6
Ga lactic mine is Still emerald
I was so annoyed about not having a green shirt in Sun! Why couldn't they have lime green?
my favourite pokemon games are the sinnoh games and my 2nd favourites are the Unova games. That opinion will probably not change in a long time. And it didn't change after I've played sun and moon, but damn were the games fun none the less ^^
KafeiTomasu 100% agree
KafeiTomasu agree so much
Least favorite: Diamond/Pearl- slowest battles(slower than totem battles) make grinding hell and boring forced story moments and worst rival
3rd favorite: Black2 White2- amazing story and interesting characters but lack of new Pokémon
2nd favorite: ORAS Pokémon at its most pure form. Delta Episode furthers plot.
Favorite: Moon Story gave me feels, Lillie was amazing, loved Nebby, atmospheric.
Did you forget about Platinum? it fixed pretty much EVERYTHING with diamond and Pearl. lol
And what was so bad about Barry? he wasn't a jerk like blue or silver, which I actually found a relief. He is technically also the strongest rival if you count his post game battles where his guys are in the low 80's. He also has REALLY strong pokemon. he was the only rival that i actually made sure I was completely ready to fight.
KafeiTomasu My first and favorite games were BW2. Johto is number two bc Johto is fuckin brilliant
I agree that our MC is a smiling freak. How can you smile at the f****** ending?
I finished Sun two weeks after. Now im playing through Moon to revive this amazing game once again.
SAOMewtwo or just to get lunala
Truegreen7 fair enough, it isn't a complaint, more of a tip. Be critical of something you like
Truegreen7 the zygarde cube can be used to track cells.
ive only got 3 issues with this game
1. speed, but thats mainly cause i have the first 3ds
2. lack of any real end game content, but then i dont think anything tops gold and silver
3. how surprisingly difficult it was to find the new alola pokemon, you would think region specific pokemon would be more common but things like Mareanie can only be found from battling a corsola and getting it to sos. even things like stufful and comfey are very rare to find.
My biggest problem is how the F is Nihilego and Pheromosa not related to lillie and lusamine????
KwstasMode maybe lusamine dressed lillie and herself like those ultra beasts because of her obsession
Alon Moiseyev shit! ...but nah i doubt that
Lillie said that lusamine forced her to wear these uncomfortable clothes
im pretty sure that all lillie said was that her mother picks out her cloths for her, nothing more
Blueconroy that's what I said
"why are all the cool Pokémon bug types"
tell me about it... and that's probably cuz tropical areas have a lot of bugs I guess
Will u do a music countdown for sun and moon
This is genuinely one of the most well-prepared, thought-out, elaborate Pokémon videos I've ever watched. I already loved Sun and Moon, but now the words as to why are clear and in front of me. Thanks TrueGreen.
The story of Sun and Moon I both liked and hated the same time. At first it was a really nice storyline but when I had the feeling that it was really getting started and now I have reached the core of the story it suddenly ended. The core is actually the ending and I was just sitting there thinking "... and that's it??"
The story also made it feel like I had less free will and chance to explore things by myself than during any other Pokemon game.
Dang, I loved the story!
The editing and way you ended the video was so great, felt so satisfied!!! You deserve a like and a new subscriber!
One issue with Sun and Moon: the credits.
Perfect choice of music in your review! Always enjoy your content! 10/10
I'll be honest, I want gyms back.
THE MUSIC AT THE END THO! Y DID SHE LEAVE;(
Worst thing about this generation: No sitting
Best thing about this generation: Everything else
honestly, i like sun and moon overall. it might actually be my favorite. it coombined the story of gen 5, the epic final starter sets of gen 6 and 5, and is overall perfect
There was a way to track ur progress go in bag and click check for zygarde cube
I would like to record the locations of Zygarde cells I already found, not know how many :)
I love your quirkiness, your voice, your topics for videos, really everything you do. Well done sir! :)
I now want this game more than ever!
Anyone hoping that sinnoh remake will happen so gen 7 is best gen?
Next game is likely a third version of SuMo, but I wouldn't mind a Sinnoh remake.
So, yeah.
TheGamingAnole55 Yeah, I know we won't be getting Unova remakes in Gen 7. Maybe Gen 8 or at the latest 9.
how did you get such good quality pictures, when i search up the same Pokemon pictures and put them into sony vegas and render, it comes out blurry. I'm just asking in general from a lot of your videos.
If I haven't played ALL the Pokemon games, does that mean I am not a Pokemon fan????
#1Rayquaza OFALL Not at all, sometimes unless you're really rich, Its impossible to play em all
No, but if you ONLY played Pokemon Go, then you can't be considered a "Pokemon Fan", but rather a "Pokemon Go Fan"
Well if you're one of those people who never played Pokemon before then Sun and Moon is the game for you but if you try to go back to playing older Pokemon games then yeah you may not be a real fan if you're not familiar how things used to work back then.
Well, I know this sounds a bit weird, but the OLNY official Pokemon game I played was Pokemon black. I'm going to play Pokemon Sun.
francisjairam Anyone who plays Pokemon and likes the product is a fan. It doesnt matter how many games youve played through. Thats just a rude thing to say.
You can get any color shirt from the festival plaza, but it's never explained, went through the entire game thinking there was just no purple :(
I feel like S&M took a huge step down from the previous gen.
Dexter Ferguson boi secret bases dont make a game better and its better to remove an exploit than keep it in
Ace Ragnarok I personally kind of liked the Blissey bases where they overleveled your Pokemon
yeah you mentioned that, but that also ruins the fun
what's the point if you're one-shotting everything
Brendan You can do the battle tree where your Pkmn are Lv 50
Dexter Ferguson Well, there's still the Battle Buffet.
Song plz 15:20
I personally wish that Pokemon would go back to and stay with the ORAS type. I don't want to turn into a fully 3D game. It kills my childhood xP
Nate same... Sometimes you just wanna go back and play your first ever game and let that be what all your friends talk about.
There isn't anything preventing you from playing the old games, ya know.
The Axolotl Overlord That's why I just bought a GBA from ebay and a bunch of pkmn Gba games XD
while in my opinion ORAS are the best pokemon games in the whole series I don't think the full 3D conversion is why sun and moon are inferior
I would say it is because they removed super training a way of customizing EVs
they didn't add any new megas
the Z-moves while interesting are simple and broken once you understand them
Z-moves take 30 seconds or so to go through their animation with no way of skipping it
turning animations OFF in the options menu doesn't turn off any of the annoyingly long animations like Z-move animations
Victory Road is short and easy and was better in literally every other game
Nate I'm playing Pokémon sun and moon on the 2ds(cause it's cheaper and I can) and nothing is 3D :)
After seeing 5 of your videos in 1 hour. I must say, you're one of my favorites now!
I fucking love gen 7.
I cried at the end of the elite 4, SPOILERS:
I was hoping Lillie would stay, adventuring with me.
The perfect description for Alola! Wonderful!
Has anyone noticed that Sun/Moon suffered a bit when played on a 3DS/3DS XL?
I really enjoyed this video along with the top 10 New Pokémon in Sun and Moon. Maybe because we share a certain way to play Pokémon games (from what I can gather in your commentary) and our teams and experieces while playing seem really similar. I find the way you treat the franchise while talking about it is very respectful to the effort that is put into each game and I love the emotion you put into your words. For all these reasons, I think you're one of my favourite Pokétubers (I'd say, you're in my top 3) and hands down your videos are the most enjoyable to me, compared to all other Pokémon themed. All in all, great work!
I don't complain about encounter rates anymore. Once you play Generation 5, you use the right to complain.
Because you can beat the campaign with just about any Pokémon with enough leveling your team can end up being just about anything while you wait for everything to come together.
am i the only one who likes x and y more then sun and moon
yeah tbh I found x and y hella boring
Robin6996 Ur comment makes NO Sense m8
Daniel Beekhuizen umm yeah it does are you fucking stupid?
He's saying yes you are the only one who likes x and y I found it hella boring to op.
And I have to agree with you in this review man, this game have a completely different style of a classic pokemon game, but it feels good!
to check your progress on the zygarde cells and cores you just go to the zygarde cube in your bag and it will tell you how many you have.
I would like to record the locations of Zygarde cells I already found, not know how many :)
is your name joey... mine is lol
You say that gen 7 is the best just because you're called Truegreen SEVEN!
Lusamine and Guzma teamed up because Lusamine was the only person who never rejected him, which he liked since he was a trial reject.
ron there actually was a way to check ur progress, u have to use it as an item on a pokemon and when it tells u u can't use it as an item it tells u ur progress
I would like to record the locations of Zygarde cells I already found, not know how many :)
TheGoldenMinecart // CastTGM
Which Totem Pokémon did you have the most trouble with? I'm currently stuck on Olivia, but I absolutely HATED taking down lurantis
The stupid smile on my characters face bothered me the entire time. World is in chaos? People's lives are in danger? Everyone is freaking out? Apparently I have no worries, so I'll just smile.
You can check your progress on zygarde by going in to key items and clicking check on the zygarde cube
I would like to record the locations of Zygarde cells I already found, not know how many :)
that certainly would be nice and I really appreciate your videos merry Christmas/holiday. yeah 70% definitely
The hardest totem battle for me was Lurantis. I chose popplio so I bet you can tell why it was hard for me.
Liam Lucas-Mullen I hated lurantis gah
Liam Lucas-Mullen I know ur struggle, that trial took me forever
Liam Lucas-Mullen Yeah dude same, i had a growlithe that i hoped would be able to take down Lurantis but there were so many things in my way
1. Synthesis (let me just say..... fuck synthesis
2. Growlithe was to goddamn slow
3. The fucking ally pokemon was ridicoulus
Lurantis was definetly the hardest totem pokemon
Liam Lucas-Mullen i had no problem with lurantis cause i chose litten c: i rather had a problem with that big fishy trial o.o
Liam Lucas-Mullen Mimikyu was the hardest. In fact, it's the only main-game battle I ever lost.
They really stepped up their game for Sun and Moon, these games are amazing!
What is the name of the song at the beginning of the video?
The only thing I didn't like was the SUPER SLOW START. But I still LOVED this game.
Wait, Burnet and annabelle are from other pokemon games??
I never saw Annabelle in Pokemon Emerald. God damn I forgot about the post game. I'm gonna have to re play that game.
Wasn't it called something like dream radar?
Anabelle was also in the anime and she liked Ash.
francisjairam Annabel is call Salon Maiden Anabel she is the one you have beat to get the Gold Symbol
Top 10 Sun and Moon themes please
I described the Alolan music as "pulling an Undertale", because a lot of the music are similar to others, like the Aether Base's theme and Aether Battle Theme.
I don't agree with something you said that alola is fluid region but it just has TOO much water
7.8/10 (IGN)
What is the music in the beginning discussion about your Alola team?
i just got both them and a 2ds for christmas
legoshowtv awesome, hope you enjoy
legoshowtv Cool! I need moon and a new ds tho... I have sun and I'm bored coz I finished it already.
Sun and Moon did feel different to other Pokémon games but it was a nice change.
There's negative things about Sun and Moon?
LIES
Nah, really, there's some minor things, but these games are great.
TheGamingAnole55 They're still great games it's just that their postgame is comparable to x and y which is not good at all.
Also aren't the dye places in the festival plaza to get the colors not available in the version?
IMO Gen 6's story just...isn't really cutting it for me. Gameplay wise it's alright. But BW2 and BW story is the best IMO.
To be fair Gen6 was abandoned before we got Pokemon Z the epic game that would have greatly improved on XY. Blame Alola for why we didn't get Pokemon Z.
you can see how many zygarde cells you have by going to your key items and pressing the check button on the zygarde cube
I would like to record the locations of Zygarde cells I already found, not know how many :)
Truegreen7 oh ok sorry :p
Top 5 MAIN SERIES Pokemon Games:
5) Black
4) White 2
3) Omega Ruby
2) Sun
1) Heart Gold
W-Wait no spinoffs?
TheBeast NamedSean There, I fixed it to say "MAIN SERIES"
More of a "Warm-toned" Game choice, Huh?
You do know that both games upon release are in the main series (B&W are both main series), right?
Lunala All five are main series. That's the entire point.
have you tried checking the zygarde cube ? because it says how many cells you have collected ;)
I would like to record the locations of Zygarde cells I already found, not know how many :)

Who dont catch many pokemon beacause you feel bad for them if you switch them out
Me I plan whose gonna be on my team
Poke Pelago.
They enjoy Poke Pelago.
Hyper Prince Same. I know exactly who I'm getting so I don'y waste time switching and having a luck based catch.
I know this is random but i need help fixing error code 006-1202 in. the. gts because its preventing me from using it
"They're not as OP as we originally thought"
Say that to Rayquaza it Mega and use Z Move
Sanji Vinsmoke All-Blue You have to either use mega evolution or a z move on Rayquaza. you can't do both
You do know Rayquaza Mega Evolves without a stone.
No, you can. MR doesn't need to have a mega stone, one of the MANY reasons it's considered OP
Gabriel Ocampo Dobbs said that Mega Rayquaza can actually mega evolve without a stone.
I know Rayquaza doesn't need a stone to go mega but it can't mega evolve and use a z move on the same battle
7:29 well that aged well
i think that game freak should the mechanic to allow us to catch a pokemon when there are two pokemon at the same time. please game freak let us
ironically we could actually do that in Pokemon Colosseum & XD! Shadow Pokemon Saga needs more love! Gen 4 introduced the nightmarish feature of you can only catch 1 mon per battle, although Gens 6&7 made it so much worse with Horde Battles & SOS Pokemon.
