Alan Rickman was the one actor who knew from J.K. Rowling how the books were going to end and so he used that in his acting. When asked why he portrayed certain scenes as he did, he would say, "You'll find out." Such a great actor. RIP, Alan Rickman.

Also even tho she didn’t point out the exact thing I just mentioned, when she said when dumbledore said “please” it didn’t sound convincing it made me realize that Dumbledore probably seen Snape wasn’t going to go through with it, so he told him “Severus….please (go through with the plan and kill me)” instead of “Severus…. Please (don’t kill me)” like a lot of people thought. I didn’t think it was possible but this just got even sadder for me. 😢

Actually, there were originally 6 Horcruxes, since Voldemort split his soul in 7 parts, one part was in him and the other 6 in Horcruxes. The 7th Horcrux, and 8th part of the soul, was split when he tried to kill Harry. Thus, you were right in believing that Voldemort was the 7th part of the soul, and that there should only be 6 Horcruxes.

All Weasley siblings have names inspired by the British monarchy, and there was a king named George who lost his hearing and his brother, Fred, died some time after. You might be confused at how Harry was able to come back from Limbo. Well, remember in the Goblet of Fire, how Voldemort used Harry's blood to resurrect himself? He took in a part of Lily's sacrifice and therefore kept said sacrifice alive as long as Voldemort lived. Harry was anchoring Voldemort to life by being a pseudo-Horcrux, whereas Voldemort was anchoring Harry to life with Lily's sacrifice.
In JK Rowling's own words: "Having taken Harry's blood into himself, Voldemort is keeping alive Lily's protective power over Harry - except that the power of Lily's sacrifice is a positive force that not only continues to tether Harry to life, but gives Voldemort himself one last chance ... Voldemort has unwittingly put a few drops of goodness back inside himself; if he had repented, he could have been healed more deeply than anyone would have supposed. But of course, he refused to feel remorse." (Feeling genuine remorse would have put his soul back together.)" Also, since Voldemort is using the Elder wand, which actually belongs to Harry, neither the Cruciatus nor the killing curse works properly. "The Avada Kedavra curse, however, is so powerful that it does hurt Harry, and also succeeds in killing the part of him that is not truly him, in other words, the fragment of Voldemort's own soul that is still clinging to his. The curse also disables Harry severely enough that he could have succumbed to death if he had chosen that path."
What Harry also did by sacrificing himself in the forest is that he gave all of his friends the same magical protection his mother gave him. The books show that none of Voldemort's spells were binding.

terrible power of that sacrifice, he would not, perhaps, have dared to touch your
      blood. . . ." - King's Cross chapter from Deathly Hallows book
Now, you can argue this scene wasnt actually Dumbledore saying this because it was said that it's in harry's head, but the extract from Goblet of Fire also shows that he was living on the protection and Dumbledore who is unquestionably Dumbledore here is stated to have had a look of triumph when finding out about this.
"“He said my blood would make him stronger than if he’d used
someone else’s,” Harry told Dumbledore. “He said the protection
my - my mother left in me - he’d have it too. And he was
right - he could touch me without hurting himself, he touched
      my face.”
For a fleeting instant, Harry thought he saw a gleam of something like triumph in Dumbledore’s eyes." The parting of the ways chapter from Goblet of Fire book.
This is Dumbledore having a look of triumph after finding out Voldemort took Harry's blood into his body to come back.

I never comment, but you are the first reactor I have seen to notice Harry asking his loved ones of dying hurts. I remember being in college when this book came out and this one line is what got me. I cried like a baby. It just reminds us that even though Harry has seen so much trauma, he’s still so young. I have included the book excerpt below as it is just beautiful:
“You are nearly there,” said James. “Very close. We are…so proud of you.”
    “Does it hurt?”
The childish question had fallen from Harry’s lips before he could stop it.
“Dying? Not at all,” said Sirius. “Quicker and easier than falling asleep.”

This is what happened in the 19 years since:
Ginny and Harry have 3 kids: James Sirius Potter, Albus Severus Potter, and Lily Luna Potter. Also, Harry is the godfather of Teddy Lupin. After graduating Hogwarts, Ginny played professional Quidditch for a few years, until she retired to start her family, and she has since started working for the Daily Prophet in the sports session.
Ron and Hermione have 2 kids: Rose and Hugo.
Draco Marries Astoria Greengrass, a pure-blood. They have a son named Scorpius Malfoy. Draco has since changed his ways, as he doesn’t believe in the whole blood purity thing anymore and neither does his wife. He vows not to be like his father and shows his son love, affection and support. A sad thing is that Draco's wife passed in 2019 due to a long-standing blood curse in her family that caused her body to become fragile, and she knew she would die eventually, and because of that, she pushed to have a child, despite the fact that childbirth was dangerous for her, because she didn't want to Draco be alone after her death.
After the war, McGonagall became Headmistress of Hogwarts and Neville works there as a Herbology Teacher. Neville also married Hannah Habbott, a Hufflepuff, while Luna married Rolf Scamander, the grandson of Newt Scamander (Protagonist of Fantastic Beasts). Umbridge was sentenced to life in Azkaban for her crimes against Muggle-borns.
Kingsley became Minister of Magic after the war, and Harry and Ron never returned to Hogwarts to finish their final year (only Hermione did), and they both became Aurors, and they revolutionized the Ministry, as Harry, Ron, Kingsley, the Weasleys and their allies all pretty much erased all traits of corruption, and Harry became Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. Ron later retired to help George with their Joke Shop. If you consider Cursed Child canon (which many of us don't), Hermione later becomes Minister of Magic.
George married Angelina Johnson (the girl Fred asked to the Yule Ball in 4th movie) and their son's named after Fred. Harry and Dudley remained on civil terms, and exchanged Christmas cards every year. Whenever they were in the neighborhood, Harry and his family visited Dudley and his wife, and while their kids played happily with each other, Harry and Dudley remained in awkward silence.
Harry's aunt, Petunia, passed away in 2020, and in her will, (again, if you consider the Cursed Child canon), she left Harry the blanket that he was wrapped in and brought by Hagrid when he was a baby, a final sign of affection from his aunt.
Ron and Hermione's kids were sorted into Gryffindor, but in a surprising twist, Albus was sorted into Slytherin along with Scorpius, and they quickly became best friends, as Scorpius was nothing like his father at the age, thanks to Draco and Astoria's influence.

That was as far as the involvement went and according to some sources she was hesitant at first but okayed it when she learned it wouldn’t be made into a movie and would only be a play. The plot and everything else was written by the two playwrights. Apparently one of the main reasons she claimed it as canon was because of the racist remarks against the actress playing Hermione. She tried to show her support that way.
The play is so inconsistent that it feels impossible to consider it canon if you’ve paid any sort of attention to the characters in the books. There is probably better written fanfiction out there. The main praise the show gets when I talk to someone that’s a Harry Potter fan that’s watched it, is that the effects and actors are good. They say the story kind of sucks but the actors are great and they’d see it again just to watch the effects.

Answers to questions/comments made in the video:
    - Yeah, the goblins are indifferent to wizarding affairs. Only time they aren't is when said wizarding affairs are affecting them; otherwise, they're completely neutral.
    - The Golden Trio casually using Unforgiveable Curses now lol (the "fart" spell).
    - Bellatrix is loaded because she was born into a large and powerful magical family - the Black family. Fun fact: her sisters are Narcissa (Draco's mother) and Amdromeda (Tonks' mother). And the 3 of them are cousins of Sirius.
    - Nobody uses that multiplying enchantment to get rich because the multiples are worthless.
    - 12:39 "Who even r u" - her name is Pansy Parkinson, she has a slightly bigger role in the books but is ultimately a background character, she crushes hard on Draco the majority of the series.
    - Lol, McGonagall suggested taking the Slytherins to the dungeons because that's where their common room/dorms are.
    - The Snatchers are running towards the castle because you can't Apparate within Hogwarts grounds (unless you're Dumbledore, or an elf like Dobby).
    - "Why are the Horcruxes being so aggressive for no reason?!" I mean, the Trio ARE trying to destroy them, I don't think it's for no reason lol. It's an attempt to protect the piece of soul inside.
    - Lmao, Emma and Rupert hated the kiss scene and it took them forever to actually kiss, they've grown up together and see each other as siblings so it was suuuuper awkward for them 😂
    - Easy (but heartbreaking) way to remember which twin lost an ear and which twin died - rhyming. Fred is dead.
    - Snape doesn't care for Harry, he cared for Lily, and so he begrudgingly protected Harry out of a need to protect the last part of her. He hated Harry because he looked mostly like James, reminding him that Lily chose James and not him. Snape is a very morally grey character, not all good and not all bad.
    - The Resurrection Stone doesn't bring people back to life, it brings back a sort of echo of them, as you see when Harry brings his parent, Sirius, and Remus to him. However, the fact that he's in possession of the Stone (even if it's not physically with him) makes all the difference when he goes and gives himself up. He always had the Invisibility Cloak, and with the reveal of the Stone inside the Snitch along with the reveal that Harry is the true master of the Elder Wand, that means he possesses all three Hallows. That makes him the Master of Death, and is why he is allowed to chose whether to move on or return to life.
    - The place Harry ends up in isn't Heaven, it's a kind of Limbo, where he's sent to wait until he makes his decision.
    - Yep, that's the dying piece of Voldy's soul that was in Harry. Ugly little thing lol.
    - Notice Harry's scar has mostly faded in the epilogue? Cool touch to say that the Horcrux in him was destroyed.
    - Everyone's partners and kids: Bill and Fleur Delacour - Victoire, Dominique, and Louis Weasley. Percy and Audrey (unknown surname) - Molly and Lucy Weasley (Percy named his daughter after his mother, I'm sobbing). George and Angelina Johnson - Fred II and Roxanne Weasley (George named his son after his twin, I'm double sobbing). Ron and Hermione - Rose and Hugo Granger-Weasley. Harry and Ginny - James Sirius, Albus Severus, and Lily Luna Potter. Luna and Rolf Scamander (no, in the books she and Neville don't end up together) - Lorcan and Lysander Scamander. Draco and Astoria Greengrass - Scorpius Hyperion Malfoy. Remus and Tonks - Edward Remus "Teddy" Lupin.

"Is he alive? Draco. Is he alive?"
"Why didn't it work for him? The Elder Wand."
"D'you think he would've done it? Draco."
    "Does it hurt? Dying."
Dunno why they can't just insert the subject into the first sentence they say instead of being vague and then clarifying a second later, but oh well. And it didn't help in this case that she was asking "Is he alive?" to someone whom she was supposed to be checking to see if he was alive. She could've had that moment of realization on her face, leaned down, and whispered, "Is Draco alive?" But nope.

Things like the Harry/Ginny romance is also miles better in the books to me. Neville, Luna, Ginny, and a lot of the other supporting characters are all a lot better too and get more great moments. Idk why I always loved seeing Draco at the end of the movie bc in my mind he’s never been a truly bad person but he just wanted approval from his parents imo but he just dealt with pressure that came with trying to follow in their footsteps in the wrong way, he’d have this cold “bad guy” exterior but in-fact he wasn’t actually that person, he just felt like he had to be. • @flyingstapler1241
      @flyingstapler1241 ปีที่แล้ว

They added more scenes in the last 3 movies to make him more sympathetic and less of a twat. He was loved and very spoiled by his parents. He wasn't pressured into following their footsteps and seek for their approval. Instead, he was always openly proud of his family and gets defensive over them. The pressure he faced was from Voldemort threatening their lives. The Malfoys may be bad people, but being a loving and loyal family is their good trait. Narcissa would betray Voldemort for the sake of her son and Lucius has abused his authority more than once to meet his baby boy's needs. They straight up stopped giving af about their fear for Voldemort or his plans in the final battle because Draco matters more to them.
The movies seemed to have caused a popular fanon interpretation that Draco was an abused kid who had no choice in his assholery to appease his family. Draco doesn't need a tragic backstory to be redeemed. There are ACTUAL characters who grew up in broken homes, like Harry, Voldemort, Sirius and Snape etc...but Draco isn't one of them. It undermines all the acts of love Narcissa and Lucius have shown for their son, and vice versa, because parental love having a crucial impact on the child is an important theme of HP. Voldemort and Snape lacked parental love and had unfortunate ends. Meanwhile bullies like Dudley and Draco grew up in loving households and despite being raised on the wrong values, they turned a new leaf after getting older.

20:47 YOU DID NOT JUST DO THAT? I think everyone here have been restrained themselves not to spoil it for you 😂 In book 6, after they got Slughorn's memory, Harry and Dumbledore pretty much said that Voldy had 6 Horcruxes. So, people who read the books, were sure that there were only 6 Horcruxes. Until Dumbledore/Snape told us (and Harry) with the memory 😂
    some fun facts:
    - Hermione was one year older than Harry and Ron. Because Hogwart academic year start at September 1, only children that are 11 or older can attend. Hermione's birthday is September 19 so she has to wait until the next year.
    - The final battle between Harry and Voldemort was in the Great Hall, and almost everyone in the school were there too. Harry told Voldemort about the elder wand before the duel, and Voldemort died like a normal person, not just "perish" like in the movie. I like that better tbh, without the Horcruxes, he's just a human.
    - Alan Rickman knew about Snape even before the 7th was written. He didn't want to return to the series so Rowling told him. And he didn't tell anyone, even director Chris Columbus would try asking him about certain scenes and he would just say, “I will tell you later.”
This was a fun journey! I'm looking forward to your next project! Thanks Ange!
    - meomeo

      @annakilifa331 ปีที่แล้ว

Hermione wasn't a whole year older, but yes, her birthday is in september which makes her (one of) the oldest students in their year. But that is how children are grouped in real life schools too. There is a cut off date where people born before it enter school a year before people who were born after it. If you are born shortly after the cut off date, you will be one of the oldest people in your grade, if you are born closely to but before that date, you will be one of the youngest people in your grade. It doesn't make you a year older or younger than everyone else.
Specifically, Ron's birthday is the 1st of march, so he is a little less that half a year younger than Hermione.

So glad you enjoyed the movies! There is a theory regarding the Slytherins being sent to the dungeons during the battle. The theory is that one of the reasons why McGonagall sent them to the dungeons (not just because they were Slytherins) was so that the kids wouldnt have to battle their parents (many of Voldemort's followers were old Slytherin house students). You could just imagine the choice the kids would have to make when faced with, between fighting for their lives and seeing their parents on the other side.
But also, one couldnt be sure that the Slytherin students would have joined Voldemorts side anyway, so all in all, off to the dungeons for them.

In the books...Harry uses the Elder Wand to repair his Original broken wand and then returns the Elder Wand to Dumbledore's grave....Harry' original wand was very powerful with a perfect wielder like Harry himself...made of Holly (type of wood) and Phoenix feather as the core...Holly is one of the rarer kind of Wand Woods which is traditionally considered protective, it worked most happily for those who might need help overcoming a tendency to anger and impetuosity. At the same time, Holly wands often chose owners who were engaged in some dangerous and often spiritual quest...
Holly was one of those woods that varied most dramatically in performance depending on the wand core, and it was a notoriously difficult wood to team with phoenix feather, as the wood's volatility conflicted strangely with the phoenix's detachment. In the unusual event of such a pairing finding its ideal match, however, nothing and nobody should stand in their way.

Dh part 2 is a fanastic film (and your commentary is equally fantiastic too), but my biggest criticism with the film is that it presents the resurrection stone to the audience in a way that makes you think that Harry is unable to die because of the stone. This is not the case. The reason Harry doesn't die is because of the protection spell Lily made by sacrificing herself for Harry. By being with loved ones (Lily's sister Petunia) this protection lived on until Harry was 17, when he left the Dursleys. However because Voldemort used Harry's blood to come alive again the protection lived on through Voldemort, therefore he can't kill Harry. Now when he did try and kill Harry the spell should've rebounded, but because of the horcrux Voldemort made in Harry it killed that instead. ANOTHER thing to add, because Harry sacrificed himself to save everyone else he created ANOTHER protection spell over the whole of the good guys in Hogwarts making everyone unkillable by Voldemort in that final showdown. I think its really fantastic storytelling here, and the way its set up over all the books is just great too; I think there's a line in Goblet of Fire where Harry is explaining to Dumbledore that Voldemort's back and Harry tells him that Voldemort used his blood to rebirth, "Harry thought he saw a gleam of something like triumph in Dumbledore's eyes", it truly is great writing here.
I hope this does make sense, and if you are still confused or interested I think there are a lot of videos online about it, and if you decide to read the books, its very much in there too. Hope this helps!

Hey Ange! Here’s some FYI’s that’ll make you appreciate Alan Rickman and the series/movies even more.
Alan Rickman was the only person told of Snape’s true intentions before the final book came out. I think he was told by JK Rowling when they were filming the first movie. So when you go back, knowing the truth, you can see his intentions behind the veil of a teenager’s (Harry’s) misconceptions.
What kills me is that the line “Turn to Page 394” is a direct reference to the final book…because it’s the page he reveals his love for Lily, and his death is described. JK wrote Deathly Hallows before all the others, then in the middle of the series she went back and rewrote parts of it. Maybe this has changed with newer book formatting that I’ve seen in book stores, but it’s a cool yet heartbreaking reference to look back on.

I remember the hype for this movie. The midnight premiere was lit, our crowd was cheering and everything.
There are some stylistic changes I would’ve done. Like Voldemort fading into dust goes against how in the books, without his Horcruxes, he finally suffers his worst fear - dying a mortal man who falls to the ground a simple corpse. I’d also have liked if Bellatrix and Nagini’s bodies actually hit the floor. The timing is juuust off to where it looks like they disappear as they’re hit.
I also wish that they’d showed more of the final battle between all the other characters. I figured they would hold nothing back since the second part of the film focused almost entirely on the battle, but they cut a lot. In the book there were so many characters and recurring extras joining in as a big cavalry moment. But since the movies cut it down to focus just on Harry and his storyline, a lot of the characters coming to help probably wouldn’t have held weight. Not like how MCU’s Endgame had such weight to the Portals scene due to being the payoff of 10 years of movies finally uniting as one for the first time.
THAT SAID, idk why they didn’t evacuate the underage students like they did in the book lmao. Just let them run around screaming
I also wish they’d done a bit more of Dumbledore’s backstory, the way Aberforth caves so quickly is kinda weak compared to the book. Also, I know it was unintentional, but Dumbledore’s line in the movie is “oh come now Severus, don’t tell me you’ve come to care for the boy?” It sounds like he’s questioning why on Earth Snape would care for him as if he also doesn’t care.

Listen, if you start reading the books I will follow your vlog channel just to read along with you because I have not read those books in over a decade, like literally since they came out! The year the last one came out, I got it for Christmas, have the whole series in my shelf, haven't read it since. Would love to read it over with you! Will be fun to read it over cause my HP lore is dry and dusty.

I literally died at the rick and morty joke, all the jokes got me this commentary. i wished we got a movie of Snape, Albus, Bellatrix, Molly, Maggie, the parents era at Hogwarts. ❤️ i enjoyed it from beginning to end this full 7 movie commentary

The stories we love best do live in us forever. So whether you come back by page or by the big screen, Hogwarts will always be there to welcome you home.

What have we learned: do not google things about the movie until the movie is over. No matter what. 🤦‍♂️

My dumb ass IMDBing Jamie Campbell Bower to see if he's the guy from the Hawkins Lab, only to find out he's/One/Henry/Vecna two whole episodes before it was revealed. 🤦‍♀️
