- I love these Kyosho Spider MKII chassis - especially the World Cup versions. The WC came standard with a two speed transmission, tuned pipe, aluminum dampers, rear sway bar, and a few other upgrades. However, the most important bit is the beautiful blue anodized aluminum chassis plate, which was only available for the World Cup version. That part could not be purchased separately!
These cars, in my opinion, represent the R/C hobby's best era (1990s & early 2000s). 1/10 nitro on-road racing was alive and well in parking lots and dedicate tracks alike. The vehicles were available in kit form allowing you to build them to suit your preferences. The relative speed of the vehicles were slower than today, allowing for more hobbyists to enter races and actually enjoy them. The technology and engineering within was modern enough to have great handling and general performance. And also, there was a full suite of option parts and realistic, detailed bodyshells that you could get to bling-up your ride. If only those glory days would return to the R/C hobby!
Anyway...
This is my second Spider World Cup that I have restored from neglected and forgotten Ebay finds. Parts are getting quite hard to come by. I've collected some spares over the years to help facilitate bringing them back to life.
I hope you enjoy the video of this wonderful Kyosho model!

Very nice rebuild👍. My first nitro car was a Superten back in 1998. Great fan off Kyosho.
My first hobby grade RC was a GP10. I still have it and plan on buying a used one off eBay to help restore it. Many hours of fun running that old car.
It would of been nice to hear you ralk through the restoration , i have two or three of these of these cars waiting to be restored along with many more cars and trucks , one day i will get to them , I've just finished restoration on two Hpi savage trucks , a 25 and X both 4.6 egines .
That's another nice kyosho you've got there quite hard to find this version anywhere congratulations on acquiring it 👍
Love it,great job my friend!
Awesome Restoration to a badass oldschool car man! You rock! NitroGang !!!!
Thank you!!
I raced these as a younger fellow... made 3mm chassis plates from no parking signs. 6160 aluminium, believe it or not !! Countersunk them. All you did there was a clean-up. Not a resto. I had many GPM parts + Kyosho parts installed, Novarossi .12 motors, and cleaned up all of the slop in the suspension & steering linkages. Also, I ditched the Kyosho fuel tank for OFNA tanks, no primer, and a bronze diffuser at the outlet point. Your front shocks look like they came from an EP 3 electric version too. Pipes were Vantage, or HPI, which went better. The rear belt gets stripped from dummies doing donuts.
very nice rebuild👍 missed mine❤
Wow 😲 impresionante eso es tener estilo y presicion para desarmar y armar un modelo de esos de combustión interna
Can anyone send me the link for a replacement of the Pull Start, mine needs a replacement but I think I ordered the wrong one.
Which engine do you have?
What cleaner are you spraying these parts with? Want to restore my HPI Racer 2 now….those were the days indeed!
I never would by such a kyosho 10-scaler, because of that belt drives...

yoo I'm trying to fix mine up I forget where I bought it from, but the wheels. When I try to move the wheels one is spinning the opposite direction of the other wheel, therefore it won't move. Suggestions??
That sounds like normal open differential operation, where if you spin a wheel forward, then the opposite side wheel spins the other direction. This doesn't actually occur when the car is on the ground and under its own power. Is this what you're seeing, or did I misunderstand your issue?
What Grease you use for lubrification?
I use Loctite 234227 moly paste in the gear diffs. You can find it here: amzn.to/3NNFGjv
any one know the factory setting on the carb for this car i
Hello. I'm searching for this green foam bumper for years. Was it only on this model? Would you know where I can purchase it or do you have the part number perhaps? Many thanks. RCCLL
Hi! I believe it is Kyosho 39401. Here's a listing I found but it's out of stock: www.hobbydirekt.de/sonstiges/sonstiges/Stossfaenger-Kyosho-39401::146179.html
@@back2newrc Thanks so much, lovely, I'll find it :-) Enjoy RC
I have the same car, but I also have the "cooling fan" option and the belt snapped after 20 years. You can't find the belts anywhere and a "new" old fan kit is about 150 U.S.
Oh no! I wonder if a large o-ring might work? I haven't seen one of those fan systems in person so I'm not familiar with what was used as a belt.
Can you tell me the name of the motor please ?
how much is it worth restored?
Used but nice ones like this are between $250-350 and perfect/NIB ones are between $600-800.
Is nitro Jones
Oh my god, poor Mk2 ! Never put carbon fiber in liquid ! And also cleaning the chassis without disassembling all the parts ... Poor car.
Nah man, it's fine.
@@back2newrc Absolutely not .
