Catch & cook lobster??
just subbed man, you had me at the 37" ling
Also in Soquel?
These spiny lobsters are my favorite to eat. I've been catching and eating these since I was 4 with my pops.
So good! I'm fully addicted
That’s awesome!
Spiny's are sweeter to me but miss the bonus claws.
Love waking up to some new vids!
A super interesting high quality night video. And a very interesting target species and fishery. The lobster really showed up well at night with your lighting.
Glad you enjoyed it, filming at night is a learning curve for sure!
You are a lucky dude, Adam! That was good night of 🦞 lobstering!
When die hard says next video gonna be lit. I litterly cant wait!
At least you got one keeper.
Another awesome video, Adam. And yes, they do have teeth. A lobster can easily snap a pencil in half. Watch your fingers, my friend!
What a guy.Keeping lobsters great again
Best video out there thank you my friend I'll see you out there Redondo Beach
Dude that was an awesome video brother. Congrats on a nice catch of bugs
Glad you enjoyed it!
When I was a film student in the 70s we used to go up to the Palisades area and there were lobster traps all over in that area. I was into other things so I never gave it a try.
I was just out in the garage getting minor things done to my crab snaring gear. Duck season opens on the 24th but we didn't get a refuge reservation so that is out for a while.
Can't wait to bring in that first keeper on a snare!!!!!!
Thanks for sharing! Crab season is right around the corner!
@@DieHardFishing At this time the regs say it will open on the 7th so we will be at our secret spot on the 9th and 10th.
I'm going to make a few new snares. Don't need them but I need to keep busy!!
Gene
I can't help Jaws jump out of that water...thanks for your bravery!
Dude that's awesome catching them..never knew they had lobsters down there..
Thanks for sharing..
Fish on..🤙🏽😎
Ohhhh yeah dood, rad vid! Lobster fishing is my fav and there's never enough videos to watch. Would love to see more if you like doing it too. First trip and lands a fatty, well done brother!
I'm getting hungry. GARLIC BUTTER SAUCE!🦞
Great catch on your first lobster hooping.
Cali spiny lobsters are awesome, but they'll tear you to pieces. Good stuff.
You got that right!
Most skilled fisherman around Bay Area!!
Great video, I was a diver for years my best two were a 9 pounder and a 11 pounder. The 9 pounder was good the 11 pounder was grainy but it was 44” from tip of tail to end of antenna. Antenna 1/2 the length of the lobster. Any way great channel I really enjoy your videos.
Dude that’s awesome for your first time out! Way to get on em!👊🏽🤙🏽
Love the videos, and now I’m into Outdoor Chef Life too. Thanks
Awesome! Thank you! Really amazing stuff on the OCL channel! Learned a lot from him.
@@DieHardFishing I just made his rock fish, fish tacos 🌮. They were fire 🔥
We started off fishing/hooping from Kayaks. You make it look so easy! Great video!
Totally opposite from our east coast lobster fishing, educational and thanks 👍. Eat hearty!
Thanks for sharing Great Vids Happy eatin
Lol dudes favorite thing to say, “ I dunno... I dunno... I dunno...”
Awesome catch bro! Love it! Gotta make some lobster Mac & Cheese and lobster saimin! Can’t wait for next one.
🤙Aloha
Lobster Mac and Cheese is next on my list!
Die Hard Fishing nice bro tight lines🤙
Just a note how to measure them correctly... Start at the top of the head, place the gauge in the head first and slide it into the groove between the horns and than measure like normal. with that said if you come in from the front there is a thin membrane there and the gauge will catch that making the lobster appear legal when in fact it's short! Almost cost me a ticket one night a Game warden showed me as we thought is was the correct size when in fact it was short by 1/8" He was cool about it and was very nice He said just return it and all was good!
Oh man,,,, that is agonizing.. lol Hey Be careful out there in the dark... Love the vids. Congrats on the first ever keeper lobster... woohoo. if you are into it the upper part of the lobster is great to cook down and use in Lobster bisque or other fish soups and stews. also great chum.
The best eating type of Shrimp!!!
Great vids - in Santa Ana for work from Florida - gotta find some time to throw at some water ....
Can't wait for the next one bad ass
NICE VIDEO!!!!! really cool to see some lobstering done around here in so cal lol
Looks like a good night. Reminds me of a crab snaring day on the jetty where we caught over a dozen crabs about a credit card thickness short of keeper.
They're so cute 🥰
You looked like a kid on Christmas morning when you pulled the king sized lobster out.
Awesome video! I live close to SD bay, have a cheap yak & never went hooping! Hmmm 🤔 seeing that & your first time out, may wanna give it a try! What do I gotta lose?🤷🏻♂️ ... my life I guess!?!?😂
With my eyes closed and listening to you, you sound like Ray Romano.
Funny, my wife said the same thing & she was in the other room!!!😂
I enjoy this channel. I live close to all the areas being fished. I'm just going to need a bigger boat.
Very cool vid! Looks like you had a lot of luck :) I've been hooping all month, too. I'm really enjoying the adventure.
That looked fun!! Good eats!!!
nice vid Diehard, males have less meat in the tail, more in the legs, body, antennule segments. tastes the same as female though. 22:48 when you said crab season w/out thinking, that was hilarious. good job on your 6, if you want to see how to get a limit, check out my most recent vid, was able to get out there last weekend and catch some lobsters!
Outstanding ! What a blast. Always a pleasure to watch thanks again for taking us along
awesome just awesome! nicely done; clear image; congrats!
Hi. Lobster season is right around the corner. How exciting. Could you please tell me where you were in relation to the jetty. Also how deep was the water, line length? Planning on going out there soon.
do they recommend you keep them in the water to keep them fresh (..drag them in a net bag..)? especially if you are fishing for hours...
That was pretty cool. 😎✌️
I could hear those waves. scary lol
Well done man!! 👍
Thanks! 👍
Glad to hear you got a giant legal, hey man do you know where you can find cheap pedal kayaks that fit 2 people? Thanks man.
How do you see the buoys you put out..? Do you have them on your GPS..?
Nice 👍 Poach those in butter with lemon wedges. Soo good 🤤
yummmmmmmm
21:05 | that's not a lobster ... that's a face hugger!
the sound comes from them rapidly moving the joints in there long antennae
Thanks for spreading the knowledge!!!
Aloha, when you hear that when your diving, you know their around.
Nice! Were you at Ventura? I tried to catch some lobsters a week after opening day off a dock, but no luck. People had fished the area out! I had Spiny Lobster at Key West, Florida, and the meat from those lobsters are sweeter and denser than their New England cousins up north!
have you tried just going down with a light and catching them by hand? or its too deep
Can you please be more specific where you do your fishing videos? So CA is vague and can be Anywhere like Santa Barbara, San Diego, Los Angeles (Long Beach), etc.
It’s San Diego bay
Awesome video
how long do you leave the hoop nets for? do you drop them the day before and come back the next night?
Times for ginger and green onion lobster. So yummy. Safe fishing.
So cal is a large area of what town were you at. I did that in the channel Islands breakwater You get two major crawls a night.
Was this a part of a kayak rental package where the kayak, hoop nets, lines, etc, were all included?
Brrrrroooooooooo, I was diving at Anacapa Island and I saw the biggest spiny lobster ever! (Before you get too excited it was in the reserve so no hunting of any kind) but it was a huge (aprox. ) 8" carapace !!!!! I would be scared to grab him if he was not on the reserve....
I only got one keep in Ocean Beach Pier. I got there a few days too late.
Get you a woman who looks at you the way Adam looks at his PB lobster 😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Vibrating front antennae
I've caught a few of them off the pier in ventura. Believe it or not it was on a fishing pole lol
Good video, man! How about a cook em up video?
My dad told me about your channel and I've been watching your vids with my son. Thanks for the great vids! Can I ask if the lobster catches are in the sf bay area? Santa Cruz?
Hi guys, i am going to kayak lobster but i don’t know which GROVES will help waterproof, windproof warm. Helps me choose a good one.
I wonder what radio they are using
I love ur vids and do u know any good spots for Hali and lincod in the Bay Area ?
Thanks! Both of those live all up and down the coast!
@@DieHardFishing thanks! Can u do a video of u fishing for halibut I really like those .
It's also white shark season :))
Nice work man . What bait did you use ? And how long are your soaks ?
Whaaaaattt...theres Great whites down there and dont they feed at night 2?
What bait did you used? That's a big lobster!
Wiiiiiiiilsooooooonnn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kayak hooping in shorts is Die Hard style!
You're so good you should go live! We wanna be there with you!
You using a light so boats can see you or just that headlamp?
Just a suggestion this it is what I use for night time fishing a couple car 50 or 55 watt headlight bulbs. Do not get them wet they will blow out. Just hook that to a12v battery and it will give you more light than you can imagine. That's how I do my night fishing. You can also use drill batteries and stuff like that they just will not give you that long run time. But remember you can add and offf and on switch and only use it when I need it.
I use batting gloves for everything outdoors fishing crabbing an hunting
You need to mount a dive light light on a pole as high as your go pro on your yak, besides using your headlamp..be safe out there !
A good light is tne Kayalu Water Torch 360° Kayak Light from Amazon, or go to a dive shop 👍
Nice recc!
If you want to go yellowtail fishing at La Jolla again I’d love to take you out.
Thanks for the offer!
Enjoyed it and learned a little something , something . Seeing your lack of space in the kayak...I would second guess my self and tie a string/rope to the gauge , just to prevent the chance of dropping it over the side
I actually had the gauge tied off too! I only took it off to show the big one on the camera. I too don't trust myself lol
@@DieHardFishing Well , there´s ¨ one ¨ instance showing that I know something !
Congrats
Was that around Redondo?
where are you in the BA??? I used to line in Alameda CA....thanks
Yes sir you are correct. Females have flaps underneath 8:47. Us men usually don't have flaps underneath unless you got drunk and was in Bangkok, Thailand. Got there with no flaps and came home with flaps. Hey Adam, just curious did you pay $15 to launch your kayak out of the launch docks or was it free? I know this place but never brought my kayak here. Any info is appreciated. Love your vids and I've subscribed along with the bell. Btw, my wife things you're hot.
You might consider buying some Kevlar gloves. They used by people to protect from knife cuts. I would think they’d be good for crabbing and lobstering as well as for filleting fish. They are pretty inexpensive from Amazon.
Aloha, their good for filleting, not so good for lobster diving. The spines go through the holes in the mesh. I’ve been using inexpensive leather gardening gloves for 15 years. They last for about a season in Hawaii (September-April).
Dana point is a great place for hooping lobsters!
Hey Adam great video really enjoyed it do you know if there’s a limit on soak time
Solid🙌
Thanks!
Die Hard Fishing we were able to put Jun on a few last week. Can’t wait for his video too. Glad it all worked out! 👊🏼
What area are u fishing at mate if I may ask
You're down here in LA or OC? Love your videos 👍💯🐟🐟🐟
Your very welcome love you channel 🙂👍
That last one was a keeper for sure. But the other one u said was a keeper, that gauge hit the tail.... From what I say, unless my EYES WAS PLAYING TRICKS ON ME.
Also do you know any spots for Halibut around San Luis Obispo County
Never fished there before but maybe some day!
Tough in slo county right now unless you’re on a boat
@@Hook2Cook thanks for the heads up, do you fish around here
Jack Canigiula yes, all the time. That’s our home water. One of our last videos from last month, you’ll recognize the spot, but 🤫😉
Are you at the Northern side
how much would u say ur promar ambush hoop was?
That's dope man! Do you know if you can do that from the shore anywhere?
Piers are your best option. But you will see many people illegally fishing off jetties with a bunch of treble hooks.
@@bobfish3176 sounds good! Is it illegal to hoop from the jetty?
@@VincaniTV Not that I know of but not very effective. You really need to pull them nets straight up to avoid dumping your bugs, Best bet is to find a pier adjacent too a rock jetty or small boat or kayak. Don't know where your at but in So Cal some fishing boats will run lobster excursions at night check with your landings.
@@bobfish3176 that's awesome! I will look those up. Maybe I can even rent a small boat or kayak to go out there. I saw a lot of people in Kings Harbor catching some.
@@VincaniTV Goodluck!
Keeper Lobster: Rubs antenna on forehead in retribution

This one seems delicious
