Today we're sharing what we've been reading and what we think you'll love as well. Get cozy and join us! 📚❤
Thanks for the book recommendation- The God in the Woods looks like something I’d enjoy 😄 I love when your kids and your doggie make an appearance! It’s real life and very cute ❤️😄📚🐾
Thank you! We know you will love The God of the Woods. ❤️❤️❤️
The Golem and the Jinni is a really good book. It’s not the type of book I’d usually read but it was a book group pick a few years ago……so good!
Great to hear! Thanks. ❤️❤️❤️
I listened to it a few years ago and loved it. For some reason it really stuck in my head.
That's been the common theme from everyone. So excited! 😁😁😁
Oooh Love the Quarry! I played every game like that (Until Dawn, The Man of Medan...) I know need to read God of the woods! 😅 Touching the void sounds very good too. I remember reading Into Thin Air and really enjoyed it.
Yes! We love those game as well! 😁😁😁 I've heard into thin air is great. Gotta check it out.
I have watched Taylers knitting channel for a while without realizing you also had a book channel. Love it! Watched all back videos today while crocheting pumpkins.
Currently reading Way Of Kings by Brandon Sanderson and Ghostwritten by David Mitchell.
Hey, that's awesome. Glad you found this channel and are enjoying. Yet to read any Sanderson but plan on doing so. ❤️❤️❤️
Awesome reads! Don’t feel like you need to apologize for your kids, you two are great parents and they come first.
I reread Rebecca and loved it again. It’s funny how watching the movie version messes up your memory of the book. Glad I reread it! I then decided to reread Anna Karenina and am thoroughly enjoying it again! I absolutely love Tolstoy! 🌸🌼🌻🌵
Thank you so much! I can totally understand what you mean about movies of books. There is usually so much more detail in the boon that makes it better. 👍❤️👍
As soon as I saw Branden's Shirt, I was like: "Dirt Man? Like the Dirt Man from the song by Carter Vail?" Yes, yes it is. I didn't know he had merch. I Love it! This is so funny :D
Yeah! I got in on a preorder. Love it. 😁👍😁
Love catching up with you two!!
Thanks! 😁
The Golem and the Jinni is so original that I still think of it randomly, and I read it when it came out years ago 😂❤
Thats is always great to hear when you start a new book. Tayler is pumped now. 😁❤️❤️
I am so interested in your way of feeling a book…as I am working in a bookstore. The Golem and Jinni is a very wonderful book with many layers to uncover, one of my favourite, have fun 📚
There is something about getting you hands on a book. 😂😁🤷🏻♂️
I read The Golem and the Jinni via audiobook a few years ago. I really liked it. I’m excited to hear what you think when you finish!
I read this and the next and REALLY enjoyed them.
Yay! I'm glad to hear that. 😁❤️😁
❤️❤️❤️
The Golem and the Jinni is one of my all time favorite books!
That's why we keep hearing. Tayler is happy to have picked such a fa favorite! ❤️❤️❤️
I listened to God of the Woods (Tayler, I sent you an email too 😂) based on your suggestion and holy moly I loved it!
Yay! ❤️ So glad you loved it! 🎉🏕️
Love your videos - keep up the great content 🎉
Thanks so much! ❤️❤️❤️
Stuck with The Mists of Avalon. I read it on the recommendation of an English professor in college. She said she loved on it for months. It was so hard to leave the characters behind when I finished.
That's pretty telling about the story. Glad to hear you love it.
Great reviews! Fun to see the Lego creation!❤
Thank you Tracey!
The God in the Woods sounds very good. I’ll have to check that one out. Also, loved all the cute cameos!
Thank you! You will love it. ❤️😁❤️
We have a Yorkiepoo named Pepper, because she is the perfect coloring of Pepper.
Ahhh! How cute. ❤️🐕🦺🦴
I also loved the Golem & the Jinni.
That's what we keep hearing. 😁❤️😁
I so enjoy your podcast. You got me excited about reading again!
I'm so glad! That's great praise. We feel honored. ❤️😁❤️
My husband & I went on a roadtrip through NM & TX a few years ago (probably closer to a decade a go). My sis suggested we stop in Santa Fe. It wasn’t a place I was interested in but we decided to make it our first stop & spend two days there. It was the best part of the trip. I could easily see myself living there or in Los Alamos. (I’m a physics nerd so Los Alamos is like a dream location for me. 😂
I totally know what you mean about not expecting to really like Santa Fe. We were the same when we first visited three years ago. We fell in love! And Los Alamos is gorgeous.
I picked up the Golem and the Jinni at a used bookstore and really enjoyed it. I had no idea there was a second book and I’m thrilled!
Thanks and can’t wait to hear your final thoughts on it. ❤
That's awesome! Yeah, everyone's telling me it's great now. Eager to get deeper into it. ❤️❤️❤️
Great quotes! I like the sound of The God of the Woods. Looking forward to your haul video.
Thanks so much! It's coming soon! 😁😁😁
Oh so glad you also liked The God of the Woods! I also liked Long, Bright River by Liz Moore ... and hope to get to The Unseen World soon. She's a great writer!
❤️❤️❤️ It was great! Glad to hear you loved it as well. We are certainly gonna check out her other stuff too.
I read The God of the Woods. Your review is exactly right. I loved it!
Thank you for sharing that info about MZB. I wasn’t aware at all & apologize for recommending the book! (& also no longer feel bad for never finishing it!)
Great quote! Love the podcast
Thank you for watching!!
I recently finished "A Light Through the Cracks" by Beth Rodden. It really gets into the psychology of climbing while being a gripping story.
I also read "Hail Mary" by Andy Weir based on your vlog. I enjoyed it, but it isn't as good as The Martian.
Light through the cracks sounds like a good one. I'll ask my FIL if he has read it.
I plan on reading The Martian and will report back how I feel it compares to Project Hail Mary. ❤️😁❤️
We read “The Dictionary of Lost Words” for book club. If you’ve ever wondered what it was like to make the early dictionaries this is your book, set in Oxford.
🤔 I could get into that.
You guys would enjoy Long Bright River also by Liz Moore. A tv series is in the works on that one and is to be released on Peacock starring Amanda Seyfried really soon!
That sounds great. We will have to check it out. Thanks. 👍❤️👍
Catching up on your videos. I added The God in the Woods to my tbr. I've been in a reading slump but i'm making my way through Mr. Mercedes. Great book, just so busy. Any tips to get through a slump?! 😅
Wonderful! Mr. Mercedes is really good, and we'll make you want to read the next one(Finders Keepers). I think it is better and more fast paced. That might take you out of your slump right there, but I would also say to try rewarding your reading. Finish a chapter? You earned ice cream. That type of thing. 🤷🏻♂️ It's tough I know, but just remember Stephen King and James Patterson are writing their next book right now, so we have to finish the one we are on to be ready. 😁
I’ve got a road trip to Phoenix at the end of the week, and I downloaded The God of the Woods on your recommendation to listen on the drive.
Yay! 😁 Let us know how it goes for you! ❤️❤️
@@GoodBooksLately Honestly, I was only going to the library to pick up my granddaughter. She was doing math homework so I thought, Let’s look for the God of the woods. First I find Attribution by Linda Moore and then Long Bright River by Liz Moore. I say, win!
Awesome!
I've been writing suggesting you to finish reading "The Mist of Avalon". I had no idea about the actual life of the author! My book is now in the trash; will not even allow it be given to a thrift shop/second hand book store. Thanks for the enlightenment, how horrible! So sorry!
I saw Touching the Void when it first came out and highly recommend watching it if you haven't already. I am currently finishing up The Adventures of Amina Al-Sirafi - great adventure book, I normally don't read fantasy but I'm glad I picked this one up.
It's so good! And I plan on watching the movie. ❤️👍❤️
I read Iron Gold by Pierce Brown and Game Changer by Alley Ciz. I liked the actor who played Fenmore Boldwin (Young and the Restless) in that game btw.
That's awesome. Thank for sharing. I felt a lot of the actors in the game were great!😁😁😁
Currently reading Autumn in Sycamore Park by CP Ward (just a cozy romance but enjoyable) and Emily Wilde’s Encyclopaedia of Faeries by Heather Fawcett. I absolutely recommend that second book and will be buying the second book in the series as soon as I finish the first one. It gives vibe of the obscure series the 10th Kingdom and of Howl’s Moving Castle (the book more than the movie, which I also highly recommend).
Oh, nice. Sounds very neat. ❤️❤️❤️
Great book recs! Thanks for sharing! 👏
You're so welcome! ❤️ Thanks for watching! 👍❤️
Sounds like you would like Tana French’s Dublin Murder Squad books: dark mystery but very intelligent. I don’t read scary books but I loved Elizabeth Kostova’s the Historian (but I had to read it in the summer)
Oh, love it. Actually, the Historin hasbee one I've considered picking up. Thank you for the recommendations. ❤️❤️❤️
The Totem Pole by Paul Pritchard is a real account of a world class climber in Tasmania, Australia and the climbing accident that changed his life.
If you search for the Totem Pole, Tasmania you can see photographs and find information on it. I've seen it from the water. It's a super difficult climb.
Wow! Sounds super interesting. Thanks for the recommendation! ❤️👍❤️
@@GoodBooksLately You're welcome 😊
👍😁👍
I thoroughly enjoy your videos. How did your son's lego creation turn out? I'm just about to finish rereading Ordinary Monsters, so I can start the sequel, Bringer of Dust.
😂 It turned out just great. He finished it this morning. Tayler is eager to get her copy of Bringer of Dust and would expect her to read shortly after purchase. 😁❤️
Just added The God in the Woods to my to-read list! My done and dusted: «Bright Young Women » by Jessica Knoll, and « The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle » by Stuart Turton. Recently read the non-fiction « Normal Women » by Philippa Gregory (on audiobook, read by the author) and it was fantastic! Currently reading « The Woman in the Window » by A.J. Finn. Love your episodes!😊
That's awesome. Glad to hear you are getting some good reading done. 👍👍❤️
So, as usual... I had to go check out your recommendations and I decided to download The God of the Woods. Did you see that on audible there is a downloadable pdf which is a map of the camp? I thought that was such a fun add as you usually miss out on those sorts of things when you go the audio path.
That's great! And yes, we did, and yes we downloaded it. Enjoy the story! ❤️❤️❤️
Adding The God Of The Woods to my never ending TBR
Yes! You must! ❤️😁❤️
Haha, I see that Dirt Man shirt and appreciate it.
😂 "I keep a little dirt under my pillow for the dirtman."
@@GoodBooksLately ya gotta, what if he comes to town!
😂😂😂
I really like your videos, it makes me feel better and i want to read more, i also watch a lot of Taylor's knitting videos and i started knitting while enjoying her channel.
But it made me uncomfortable when you told that Marina and Sergey Dyachenko are russhians, while they are ukrainians who wrote in russian. They did live in russia for 4 years as i know but they are ukrainians.
Its totally okay to make mistakes but it did heart me, because of war in my country (Ukraine). I live in war from 2014 and now i am 23 and needed to emigrate to another country alone to escape from war. And there are millons of people with similar story. I know, someone will say that art, books etc are not politics but it is politics. Everything in our life is. So tolerating this and keep tolerating makes other people forget, don't mention war situation in the world. I don't write these things normally but i did write it now because i feel you're so beautiful people and i really like your vibe so seeing this now did heart my feelings deaply. I don't need u to answer it but i just can't help myself not to left it here.
Thank you. Happy to hear you enjoy our videos. We apologize for messing up where the authors where from, it was not intentional at all.
@GoodBooksLately Thank you for your answer🙏🏻🌿
