How many gallons of clear coat if going with Bona product would I need for about 750 sqft of floor?

I have no idea how many you will need, I would never start sanding an oak floor with an orbital sander. However if you're determined to go that route sanding 1200 square feet of oak with an orbital sander will likely require you to start with 24 grit, and progress to 36, 60. My guess is you'll need to change the 24 grit sheet every 50 square feet, but this will be determined by how quickly the existing surface finish breaks down the abrasive on your sheets. Be prepared to sand for at least two weeks 10 hours per day with that machine, hopefully that'll be enough time to remove all the existing finish. Fortunately you can return unused sanding sheets to HD for refund. Good luck!

Hi, I've just installed new t&g pine floorboards and need to sand them before applying the lacquer- which grit should I start with? And do you recommend anything else before applying the lacquer? This is my first time doing floorboards so any advice would be great. Thanks!

      Hi Andrew
You should be able to start with 60 grit on the drum sander since the wood is new, and has no finish on it.
Also edger sand 60, or 80 grit.
After square buff with OBS 18, 60, then 80 grit. Then vacuum thoroughly, dust mop, then apply your finish. Minimum 3 coats of water based finish should be applied. Thank you for watching my videos 👍

How'd your floor turn out? Which grit was most effective for removing surface finish? Let me know! Cheers!
