I loved watching this video while learning to fly the F-16 in Falcon BMS.
Lol dude I remember when I was a kid I was pissed falcon 4 didn't have any A models bc of how obsessed with iron eagle I was. Now I'm like idk how the hell anyone even flew those things 😂
Such a beautiful designed aircraft.Timeless, just like the P-51D.
Hell, this video was 40 years ago. Over 2,000 made, that says alot about the design and capabilities. GD should be proud.
I actually worked on this. This video was a training video. I knew a pilot that went by the name of Viper.
I love the bubble, it must feel like youre flying ON the airframe, not in it. so much visability
That brief scene of Dwyer climbing into the cockpit was used in Falcon 3.0 for the takeoff cut scenes :)
A major leap forward from the F-16A.
Amazing video, thanks for preserving this.
@spins321 That's right.
3:36 What is this odd thing below UHF radio? Seems like some sort of early INS systems.I never seen such configuration.
its how you run a flc bit in blk 25s. block 30s and up went to the dflc so you don't have to cycle knobs to run the flcs bit. its just one switch
what block is this?
Looks like block 50-52
@@aak8146 definitely not a 52 it doesn't have an interrogator. this is probably a block 25. its got the lightweight landing gear
@@MySuperslayer You're right. Later versions also have multi color MFD's while this on is using green MFD's.
Looks like serial 83-1146 (local serial 83146, best visible @ 8:27) which was an F-16C Block 25B, was scrapped around 2015, RIP Viper.
This is the early F-16 C Block 25
How come US can not build something this efficient anymore? Now its all about over budget of billions of dollars. BTW, JAS 39 Gripen= F-16 wanna be.
This comment has aged very well. Like fine wine.
@@JeremiahAnunnaki I mean, the F-16 budget was also some tens billions dollars, in 70's and 80's money...
