@jonathonsantamont8527 And when the house of cards comes down many will be laughing. Junk slabs are everywhere already and GameStop will just make it worse
no…… everybody is buying pokemon…. thats literally wat happened…. LITERALLY WOULD MAKE A GOOD VIDEO😏 bc i never see anybody make the claim…. i live in texas 36 the card shop i used to go to as a 8 year old is still around… guess what they are pushing more then anything…. pokemon…. ppl rather buy a cute cartoon full art printed in the thousands (9 billion cards printed in2022) instead of things that actually have rare releases like sports cards or other things…
Just because they grade less by volume, doesn't mean they're 4th best. The mentality has become that unless you're pretty sure it could go for a black label 10, send it to PSA instead because they'll likely grade it higher. PSA also gear towards bulk submissions, whereas Beckett price themselves at a more one card rate. The small amount of submissions only helps the secondary market prices as rarity becomes a very big selling point.
I made that comment in passing, more to do with sentiment. Clearly less and less people are wanting to use them which will eventually flow through to less money being spent on their slabs on secondary market
Sad to see how far Beckett has fallen. As a young kid collecting cards in the 90s Beckett was the bible for pricing etc. Saw your stand at the Hobby in Sydney. Some sweet football autos mate.
I think Beckett can came back from this....... First by doing $7- $10 card submissions for a bit to draw some people back & see how that works for the time being........
I am so glad I don't mess with grading cards or buy single graded cards, or even any kind of any new sealed wax in general, spin 50 200 500 600 on a box and get 5-10 or $15 worth of cards back. Before long it's just going to be all robot scan-grading and then all these card companies are going to be low on their business.
Their approach it appears is that of a company that knows their days are numbered. I worked for a company that reacted the same way and nobody within cares and their future being an uncertainty is the only thing on the mind of the workers.
It's all a scam right? Cards are cardboard, there tricking people into thinking a little ink and cardboard is valuable. Then we pay to grade the cardboard... The people who buy this stuff will typically lose money. The winners are the card company and graders. But people keep on doing it.
People are buying this cardboard and ink with paper and ink or digital 1's and 0's. The days of trading or bartering real, tangible goods are long gone
@@joshw9558same could be said money is ink on paper, and worthless. There is no gold standard anymore. You could say everything is worthless…. All things have value, and are worth what you can sell them to a desiring buyer that day…
Everything is just all hype these days grading, and sports cards in general. people spending thousands of dollars on rookies that haven't even accomplished anything yet it's just all hype that's all it is. It's not even a hobby anymore it's considered gambling for real.
Beckett death knell has sounded. A friend that works there tells me it won't be long. They're hoping to be absorbed by one of the others. I recently waited a week for a signature review. Those pricks blew me off. Arrogance personified.
You would think they'd have some strict standards and quality control, particularly with validating authenticity. Famous last words, 'you would think'.
In the grand scheme of things I think Beckett is fiscally not worth their time to do whatever fraud the ceo was doing (i believe he was running some insurance fraud scheme) Yes beckett should be doing more, photographing submissions whether or not they make the photos available to the customer is irrelevant should be a bare minimum (this is assuming they aren't doing that because it's well beyond giving beckett the benefit of the doubt) but expecting them to lias with Panini if there is ever any issues is a bit much to ask at this point, they should be focusing on fixing all the inhouse related things they can before they start bringing 3rd parties in baby steps for now. Plus when you've already got an extremely slow service time with beckett, having them need to wait on panini will make things even longer
Great video. Lack of accountability is certainly a huge issue for Beckett. Not that other authentication companies are immune from the same issues, but Beckett has a long history of ignoring/rejecting evidence of authentication errors.
Are you kidding. The most famous Honus Wagner in a PSA holder, was confirmed trimmed by the FBI. It still sits in a slab today. If that’s not the ultimate hypocrisy, I don’t know what is. But the sheep always defend P$A.
Well said. The problem I had from the beginning was them grading cards at all. They were a service that reported prices. Now they could by their grading and reports change markets.
This makes no sense. P$A always had SMR issued, which priced their graded cards. If you look today, PSA is the only grader with price targets and actual prices sold on their site…
I don’t think any grading company guarantees patches. That being said there is no grading guarantee with bgs so there would be no reason for them to check also I don’t think they have invested in the technology to be able to keep track of these things to begin with. These are just a few reasons why bgs is failing and psa is king of grading/card insurance and cgc cards is really rising to surpass bgs as imo they have the best slab in the market crystal clear slab and cards really pop in them
I bought a Topps Rookie Kobe Bryant back in 2015 graded by Becketts at a 9.5. I had it regraded by PSA this past Summer submitted at the National in Cleveland. Couple months later it comes back. Are you ready…. Grade 7.
FYI they all are scams. Card collecting is collapsing and prices continue to reflect it.
PSA commits this shady type of behavior far more often but let's look the other way 🙄
That’s where the sheep have all their money man….
@jonathonsantamont8527 And when the house of cards comes down many will be laughing. Junk slabs are everywhere already and GameStop will just make it worse
Exactly. PSA is mainly just card grading, Becket does way more.
No one collects trading cards anymore, they collect labels with 10s on them.

Agree it's even worse in coins because u can have a perfect label coin even with a weak strike. Aka poor details
We need multiple grading companies to keep the hobby fair. Fanatics needs to buy BGS.

Great veejo as always, my friend. Good on ya.
Great stuff Dan, Beckett has fallen so quickly. Their “BLACK LABEL” cards use to be the king.

I avoid Beckett-graded cards like the plague. This video confirms I made the right choice.
It’s crazy that Beckett has fallen so far, wonder the value of there slabs if they fold up shop.

Dan the Man! Good stuff mate
Beckett is the gift that keeps on giving….to psa
Damn... I won't see my graded card for a while... sent in 11.12.24 damn...😢

If u didn’t know, SMR was sports market report and priced the varying grades of the cards…
@@jonathonsantamont8527 I know but they did not have the power of Beckett. Becket was the first place for pricing not the PSA wanna be.
1.2M a month sounds crazy.

Wonder what Dr. Beckett thinks about all this since his name is still attached?
Depends how much he got paid to get out…

You should of never cracked it... 😮😮
😮😮
Beckett is pretty lame. Submitted two autos that were authenticated by Donruss and they said it wasn’t authentic.
hanky panky!!!!???
I like that hat
"kEEpiTrAw"
train wreck
Beckett is miles ahead of everyone but Psa in grading. That goes for the reliability of the grade and value
Hi Dan,
I sent you a message on IG just a little bit ago because I firmly believe in 2 ideas to get transparency back in the hobby.
Cheers,
