Now that you have listened to the entire album, I would recommend to watch the 3 VLOGs that they made discussing this album. VLOG #23 Dany, Pau and Ale talk in detail about their recent releases of Chapter 1 & 2 of QOTMS th-cam.com/video/cNG-vvhrIWs/w-d-xo.html VLOG #25 Dany, Pau and Ale talk in detail about chapter 3 of Queen of the Murder Scene th-cam.com/video/6xjzAsVDlF0/w-d-xo.html VLOG #26 Dany, Pau and Ake talk about Chapter 4 of Queen of the Murder Scene th-cam.com/video/jMS9zxwxpnA/w-d-xo.html Also a great live video of Ugh is the one below. The Warning - Ugh live at The Rebel Lounge th-cam.com/video/AIgA9SDwu1I/w-d-xo.html Their 1st album XXI Century Blood is not a concept album, but contains nothing but great songs.
I'd add to that the video of Dull Knives for De(Tour) from The Warning Cave! Online concert they took part in during the pandemic as a fundraiser with a bunch of different artists. This was when Lzzy Hale of Halestorm first saw them and decided to invite them on tour with her when those started up again (and they did during a good part of 2022, with Lzzy eventually gifting Dany the Explorer that she uses for Enter Sandman and QOTMS) th-cam.com/video/-VUCzqDyOdI/w-d-xo.html
Red hands: she is talking to herself, bad side versus good. The mistake ? She killed him in the last verse of stalker. She was singing to the corpse at the end.
Hammer meet Nail, Broadway Musical, that would be a hit. I've played this for friends and explained that it's written and performed by 3 teenaged sisters, they call B.S., so I show them the Lunario concert and watch them take it in with disbelief with mouths open. Thanks for doing this reaction .
@dough1793 - I love stories like yours!!! Especially because the sisters have said as much about the way they were received at gigs...no one gave them respect..."what are you girls going to do?" and then the audience, the other male bands attitudes change once they hear The Warning!! 🤘❤🖖❤🤙
I'm convinced that this album will eventually come to be regarded as one of the best concept albums of all time. It already is if you ask me, it's a masterpiece from start to finish. I can totally see this as a play or movie, and it really deserves to become something more than "just" an album. And yet, as good as it is, it's on a whole new level played live! The concert at the Lunario is as much an acting performance as it is a music concert, especially from Dany. You can see her become the Crimson Queen. She conveys so much emotion in her performance - it's just incredible. Can't wait for you to watch it live!
I think the totally best “seller” for me when I had made a FB comment was with the piano solo Pau did originally in Patreon. Her 3 song “concert”, as she put it, which included Stalker. That piano version cries out a Broadway sound and really emohasizes Pau’s songwriting prowess. Same holds true with Pau’s piano duet with Dany for Dull Knives (different video). Pau’s little solo piece at the end.
@@Sly.L okay. I have them saved in my YT library in 2 different devices. I can either send you the links if I kniw which Group you’re in but I don’t recall if we’re Friends in any. OR faster would be by doing acsearch fir “The Warning l Pau playing the piano Black Holes - Stalker -The End” & “Dull Knives Acoustic”. The first one was originally sent by the Group “The Warning Army” if you have difficulty with your search. You can ask the Admin for that if need be. Instrongly suggest you save those videos. They are both gems of genius. Both have made the rounds a few times amongst various Groups and I think they should continue to do so because 1, many newer members may not be familiar with Black Holes; 2, many newer members aren’t aware that Pau writes/starts most of the songs including the lyrics with the piano. You would never thought songs like Stalker was completely done as piano at first and certainly, Dull Knives? On piano? Are you kidding me?……No kidding. Pau’s creativity doesn’t just ooze out, it pours if not cascades. Let me know if this helps you to locate the videos and if so, spread it again. No one will ever get tired of those. If any do, go tell them to listen to Every Breath You Take by The Police. That WAS a great song but for me, it got overplayed so much on the radio, I git sick if it. That has yet to happen for me with TW.⚠️⚡️⚡️⚡️
It’s hard to believe that they were literally teenagers or younger, when they wrote this album. Not just the lyrics, but the music, as well. Always mind blowing. Thanks!!
Check out "Black Holes (Don't Hold On) from XXIst Century Blood. Paulina was a fairly privileged 12-13 year old when she wrote a song from the viewpoint of a washed-up junkie begging the world to hate her and to save her at the same time. A lot of old loadies like myself still can't wrap our heads around how she looked inside our souls.
She kills him at the end of Stalker. Red Hands Never Fade is her asking forgiveness from his corpse, and in The Sacrifice she starts talking to herself.
It's remarkable how much they sound like the studio recording when they play these songs live, isn't it? It's also remarkable that they paid for the recording and production work on this out of their own pocket through fundraising contributions from their fans and proceeds from their shows and merchandise sales. Amazing quality. And even as teenagers they had complete creative control over the album from the moment it was conceived to the songwriting and the artwork. I think you gain a whole new appreciation for Ale's bass-playing ability when listening to this album for the first time with headphones. Pau's performance is, well, Pau. And Dany's vocals and guitar work throughout are perfect.
@@ronaldmorgan7632Always wondered what Monday morning, “so what did you do on the weekend” conversations with her 13 year old classmates would be like for Ale. “Oh, you know… I opened for The Killers!”
Oh yeah! Trust me, you are not the first to suggest that this album needs to become a full on rock opera, or broadway production. This song needs to become a rock opera like Pink Floyd's The Wall!
If ever a true masterpiece has been pressed on a vinyl disc: This is it! I am 68 yo, listened to tons of music from different genres in my lifetime but never came across a recording that moved me so deeply. The Lunario concert shows it all: Dany fully incorporated the Crimson Queen. She did not have to smash her guitar to pieces as others did or to expose her body desparately because of lack of musical abilities. Her guitar, her voice, her face. Plus her phenomenal sisters. That's all it takes.
Oh you DEFINITELY need to watch the Lunario CDMX 2018 live show of this whole album!!! Danny literally embodies the Crimson Queen on the stage while she's singing these songs!!! It's intense!!!! They also sprinkle in some XXI Century Blood favorites in between chapters too!!! It's totally worth the watch!!!! 🤘😝🤘
We will definitely be here to watch it with you. And WHEN you watch it you need to pay attention to the video screen behind Pau. It's very well put together in visualizing the story.
I completely agree. Lunario is a concert I have watched in its entirety multiple times because it is so good and you definitely see and feel the story unfold. With the band's current trajectory, it would probably take a very special occasion for them to ever play all of the songs from this album in order again, so it is great to have captured the performance when QOTMS and the emotion was fresh in their minds and hearts.
One word: Masterpiece. Love this album. Dani goes into full Queen character in the live performance at Lunario and makes the songs even more impactful. Thanks Ash. 🤘😎❤️⚠️
Hey Ashlena, according to the band, the victim is actually dead at the end of Stalker. The last lines are sung to his corpse. The rest of the album is about a mind fracturing into two. Several songs are about the evil side basically trying to take control. It's awesome because I feel like the climax is actually Dull Knives at the end of which the evil side takes over. I absolutely love this album written by these genius teenagers.
On Patreon, we spent WEEKS dissecting each song, since the album was released in parts. They started with Dust to Dust, let us absorb it, then a couple months later released chapter one. Again waited a couple months before releasing chapter two. That pattern held until the album was revealed in its entirety at the Lunario concert. D2D is a lyrical tour de force. We are asked to not just listen to a story, but to “behold it”. The band wants us to internalize it, to take it in, to learn something that will forever change us. What is the lesson to be learned? This album asks us to consider not right or wrong, but truth. Not “our truth, or my truth” which is an all too common cliched phrase in today’s world. We are to learn the truth that only death can bring into focus. The album asks us “what is really important?”. What above all else is true? After asking us this question, we are told a story. A story of selfishness. We are introduced to a woman who above all else wants love, but does not comprehend what love is. She has an idea in her head….her truth. She believes that her version of reality can bend the will of others. When she is confronted with the falsity of her truth, well lets just say things do not end well for anyone involved in the story. The story ends with a return to its beginning. Why return to where we started? Well, the Queen does not learn from her poor choices. She chooses the path of self pity rather than growth. When we choose to look outward for the cause of life’s problems, we fail to see the truth. That failure will cause us to remain walking in circles. Doomed to never progress along life’s path. We will be stuck in an eternal loop of failure. Pau is a master word smith. The three of them are genius story tellers. This story is deep enough to have been penned by Poe, and real enough to have been created by Shakespeare. This album has caused me to think more deeply than any piece of art in all of my 51 years. Love it!
@@americanswan I am sure everyone who listens to it, is effected in a specific way, that is unique to them. The discussions we had were never on a single track. There was never a consensus on it. That is what makes QOTMS so special. There are lessons to be learned from it for everyone who takes the time to really dig into it.
2nd album is a concept album composed by 3 teens with adult themes and lyrics. I always pick up Ale's bass lines. Crimson Queen was not composed for the album. This is a song Dany was working on by herself. As they were putting the album together they realized her song fit the theme and included it. The live versions at the Foro Didi and Lunario concerts really hit hard. Watch TW VLOGS #23, #25, #26. They explain in depth the songs, their meaning, and how they were put together. And they are fun just watching them interact. You will get a LOT of suggestions to watch the Lunario concert, but the Foro Didi is much better quality, on par with the Metropolitan concert at a smaller venue.
I agree with Lunario. Technically Metropolitan is musically better for the 2 they have released, but Lunario captures the passion of the moment better.
Thanks, Ashlena! Another great reaction. How they wrote and recorded this as teenagers, I’ll never understand. Brilliant and menacing. I’m with you on Hunter - love it!
The greatest concept album ever made imo! I played this whole album for my best friend during a car ride and he was thrown for a loop by how dark it was but also how impressive it was for a concept album made by teenagers at the time. I noticed that you liked the outro to Ugh and that transition from Ugh into The One is one of my favorite moments on the whole album. Dany told me that she wrote the lyrics for Crimson Queen about a real life friend of hers that she had stronger feelings for and it wasn't originally written for the storyline of the album but fit perfectly into the story as a love letter from the queen. I love how they bookended the album with Pau singing lead on both D2D and The End. Ale's bass tone on this whole album is phenomenal to me, it has a very distinctive sound.
@@bobbarber2070 we are here to talk about the Warning and not other bands which are not even worth to talk about, with one example. Pink Floyd’s “ dark side of the Moon “
@@bobbarber2070 Yep, Operation Mindcrime is the best concept album ever IMO. I love QOTMS, but it is open to interpetation as for Mindcrime, its character building and you know exactly whats going on.
Dany bad queen Pau good queen Ale should have sung Hunter as Grim Reaper coming after bad queen. Best concept album of this century considering most of this was written by a 15 year old. imo.
I’m thinking someday, someone will indeed make this a visual tale - a movie, a Broadway play…whatever. I have worked in the film and animation industries and this is written (lyrics) with so much possibility for a phenomenal script. The music, needless to say is phenomenal as well and drives home the intensity of the macabre storyline. I wish I had the clout and/the money the to push for its production, but like I said, some one will buy the rights and produce it and it will be a hit. Thank you The Warning for such a masterpiece and thank you Ashlena for listening to it with us!🤘🔥
Everything you said it was spot on except one thing, no one and I have to repeat no one will buy the right to produce anything of their work unless they give the green light to do so. They didn’t just argued, fight for seven months with Lava record by mistake, and by signed with them, a new chapter opened in their performing life, which I don’t think include anything was written before that time. And if they do, they have a spotless relationship with David Bendeth, ( producer of the Error album ) like a husband - wife relationship, fighting by day but making peace in the night. I’m not a longtime fan of them. Discovered them in the early 2016 and my mind was blown from their talent. A marriage made in haven with Lava give them the opportunity to world fame, which would happen anyway with or without Lava. Their covers could and in fact made them famous as we see all the invitations by more famous bands like G n R, or Muse, Foo Fighters Hailstorm and others. The opportunities are endless since they signed, but com on please, a Broadway? Their dream is not to be famous just in the USA, and to be honest, anything made for Broadway is cheesy as hell. The night of the opera era is gone, and I don’t think they would ever give their work to be commercially abuse and throw away after a short time. Background music in a movie or movies holds possibilities alive. They are going for the so called “ big Kahuna “ in other name the world stage, and no one can hold them back. And rightly so!
@@bubamaranovichok4901 of course it takes agreements and contracts. Of course they would never just settle and give up their rights. Negotiations is always part of any deal of this nature. So, ok no Broadway cheese. I hear you. A feature film would be great.
Btw, big theatre productions aren’t limited to the US. Many extend to Europe. Anyway, I see all of this happening well into the future when DPA have become well established and world famous. Maybe Mexican Film Director Guillermo Del Toro will make the feature. His films are praised worldwide. It doesn’t hurt to think big.
*Hunter Fun Fact: Hunter* introduces a brand new very popular known character to this story. In an earlier song, the Queen said she was going to take the throne away cause she was going to take the character's place. Well, the character wants its throne back. Cause this character is here for her. The Queen better run. *Dust to Dust Fun Fact:* The album starts out as the spirit of The Queen is telling you the story of her life.
There are many lyrical bits that confused the hell out of me until I got that the murder took place at the end of Stalker and since then it's been her evil side fighting with what is left of the good side. A fight to the finish. Then is makes perfect sense.
Dany performed Crimson Queen at the Trouboudor in Los Angeles in May 2022 as a complete solo, just her. She's amazing! th-cam.com/video/0WZS6mnNbSo/w-d-xo.html at 24:56.
I am so glad to hear your comments about how perfect this would be as a musical on Broadway (or as a movie). I have made this comment several times. It would be perfect!
Thank you ashlena!! ❤❤❤ You presented the album in the best way I have witnessed yet. 🎯 So glad that you released the whole thing for all of us to see and hear. 🎉 I originally was hoping for a live version but I actually preferred it this way with your contributions. Great job, Again!! I LOVE THIS BAND !! ✌️💖🎼
I think studio and live can both work. There was one reactor pair who went through both. However, at this point it’s best to have at least experienced some TW live before tackling QOTMS.
Dany has stated more than a couple of times that she loves musical theater - Sound of Music, Wicked, Phantom, etc. Check out a couple of her Dany days where she just sits on the floor with her accoustic and Iphone and sings requests and personal favorites. Several are broadway songs.
Nice look at the album Ashlena! The girls recorded this in 2018, so some of the songs were probably started in 2017. Ale was 12, Pau was 15, and Dani 17. Pau says she was going through her "emo" phase when she came up with the concept for Queen of the Murder Scene. The depth of their songs and lyrical concepts were (and still are) way beyond their ages. I'm very glad you got up close to Ale's side of the stage to see how much she shines live and how she really carries the beat so well for such a young lady!
I am totally here for the Lunario concert Thursday or whenever you decide to do it I can't even count how many times I've seen it already but it's never enough
She killed him at the end of stalker. When she got quiet at the end saying look at me my dear, she was talking to his corpse. Red Hands never fade was her conscience asking for forgiveness.
I found this to be the best full album reaction I've seen. This is my favorite album of there's. Album is good ,but there so much better sounding live. I'm sending this reaction to several people to watch. Its a great introduction to the Warning. Thank you!
Excellent reaction, Ashlena!! Queen of the Murder Scene is a brilliant piece of art! I'm SO looking forward to the live stream for the Lunario Concert. It's an amazing musical event that not only has the entire QOTMS album but also the best songs from XXI Century Blood. It will give you chills all over your body throughout! If there are technical difficulties, reschedule the live stream. This is the show that said to the world, Hello! We're here!!!
The beautiful thing about TW is that the album is completely open to personal interpretation. Whatever story the album tells you is your story and that’s perfectly ok. The canon that is accepted by a majority of TWA is really laid out in the band’s own vlogs but your understanding lines up pretty well with the exception of a few small details. I really enjoyed watching your review. I usually watch the concert video so I was able to catch more detail lyrically this go around. Their first album is really good as well.
Your review reminded me of how good this album is and how much the studio version is different from the live versions and incites you to go deep inside the plot of the story. Amazing. Thanks a lot!😊
Thank you I never got to listen to the whole album straight through this was great. I have heard all the songs though and look forward to to you maybe doing the Lunario show which plays this album from start to finish which I have not done yet. Still a newbie too. 😃 🤘🤘
Hey Ashlena! A couple of key points. Ale does NOT sing lead on any of these songs (or any other TW song), you just got extremely lucky to see her sing two songs live. I don't know who's (Genius? not really. hahaha) song explanations you are reading online, but they are not complete, and often wrong. (Go to Timberwolf's notes for better analysis and explanation.) Fun Fact: UGH is named this because it was so difficult for the sisters to complete. They were going to give up, but their father persuaded them to finish it. Also, it went through many different versions with many early pieces of it being tossed out. Two different songs on the album were derived from unused pieces of Ugh. They are The One and The Sacrifice. If you listen closely to all three, you can hear a bit of UGH in the other two. :) You got the gist of each song in Chapter one. Dust to Dust is set at a funeral (The Queens's funeral foreshadowed?) In Stalker, she has her love trapped and probably tied up and locked in a room or shack. By the end of the song, she has done the deed and is singing the last lines over his corpse. (Not my opinion. This is from Pau explaining the song in a vlog post) Hence, the next song, Red Hand Never Fade, is her asking herself "what have I done", basically. But, she is singing this to his corpse. The "mistake" that you are asking about is the fact that she killed him. LOL The rest of the album is her struggling with her inner demons and falling into psychoses. In The Sacrifice, her evil side is telling her good side to let me take all your pain, just submit to me. It is her evil side trying to manipulate her into taking control of her being. In Sinister smiles, the good side is contemplating suicide to break apart from her evil side. She either has to embrace the darkness of what she has done, or kill herself to free herself from it. In Dull Knives, she has given in to her evil side. She is no longer remorseful and embraces the evil she has become. In QOTMS, she has gone full crazy evil. She is has no conscience anymore and is taking the throne of the Grim Reaper, she is so far gone. (At this point maybe she has turned the one murder, early on in to a killing spree) In PSYCHOTIC she is so crazy she has cheerleaders in head egging her on. LOL. She is brazenly welcoming all comers to take her on for the title of QOTMS! This is known to TWA as the Cheerleader Punk song. hahaha Hunter, is sung from the perspective of The Grim Reaper that is coming after The Queen to regain his throne. The End is she dying and saying it is too late for regret. She owns up to what she has become on her deathbed. We don't know if it's suicide or being caught or hunted down by The Grim Reaper. In the song, she invites you to "Start over Again" and that is your cue to start the album over again (at her funeral? hmmmm) An absolute GENIUS album written and performed by teenagers. Mind Blowing!! You are absolutely right and it has been said many times, This should be a Rock Opera on Broadway. Hopefully, someday it will be!! Thanks Ashlena. I love to see when people listen to and appreciate the genius of this album and the Masterpiece it is. This will one day be a legendary album, known all across the world of rock!
Ale did in fact perform two songs live at the Toronto show Ashlena attended. So, on the album, Ale did not sing lead, but at the live show Ale did when Dany was feeling under the weather.
@@oldmanyeni1663 Yes, I know. She was so lucky to see Ale sing lead. I have seen them 4 times, but have never seen Ale sing lead. But, I don't want to wish ill on Dany either.
Love this album. Sort of dark, but a master piece. Just great music. I agree would make an awesome musical/ play. There was some brief talk of making an anime of the album.
Its amazing how all the songs are great just on their own but then put them together and a brilliant story unfolds. The lyrics draw you in as you feel the passion and pain in every word. The lyrics are literally like art that you can see , they paint a perfect picture in your imagination. The One and Stalker are my two favorite songs . On a musical level the bass in the one is so cool. Stalker is on a whole level of its own , the emotional aspect of what the queen is about to do and the ultimately does builds through every note and every word. I think its the most brilliantly written song I've ever heard. I can literally close my eyes and visually see what is happening. 53 years of music and I have never loved a band so much!
btw Hunter is Mony's(mama) favorite song of the Warning so far. ps it is the grim reaper hunting her not her evil side per the girls in vlog(it may be patreon only but You may be able to view on there.) 😉
I just love to listen to the Album :) Thanks Ashlena :) It's hard, it's dark, full of sorrow....considering the age of the girls while writing it, it's a Masterpiece. Btw, I wrote it somewhere else, if you have the Album on repeat, The End and Dust to Dust flow into each other partially from a lyrical viewpoint.
Yes, I believe "Dust to Dust" is a sort of a starting at the end story-telling device. The scene is a funeral. Is it hers or her victims? The protagonist welcomes their audience and offers to tell the story of how it came to this.
Good morning Ashlena, great video, I liked the approach you took to the lyrics, it's a great job from the girls.....as you said, worthy of Broadway. Thursday I'll be following the video of the show at Lunario, it's one of their best shows. Big hug
These young women are genius. Pau is a great writer ! A Broadway show sounds great !! It's sad the music industry doesn't know how great this band is !!
The facial expressions of amazement, anguish, surprise and joy are my favorites from you Ash. You're the perfect reactor in my opinion. So in stalker she's singing to the corpse, yeah she fhim thus red hands. After chapter 2 it's a constant struggle with her evil self developing a dual personality and where the queen wants to take over her mind and soul
Ummm ok the way you exhaled Ugh at the end of Crimson Queen to set up the next song Ugh was the best thing I have ever heard haha. Keep up the great reactions to The Warning.
As I stated before a couple of times in other reactions, not just Broadway, but directed by Tim Burton, who else could it be? Oh! And the New York Philharmonic Orchestra backing them (just a little detail missing🤭)
I consider myself a big fan of The Warning, but I have never listened to this studio version of the album all the way through. I love the Live at Lunario concert performance of the entire album. I have never watched someone react to this version either. So, let's do this!
This is such a beautiful album, to think that they were just 18, 16, and 13 at the time of its release is mind-blowing. They are truly a musical miracle. 💕🎶💕🎶💕🎶🎶
Thank you so much Ashlena for uploading this version, it's great to watch your reactions and i start talking like i'm front of you telling "that's right or nope, not like that..." hehehe. loved it. TWA
*Fun Facts Tibits:* *Ugh:* The song title has nothing to do with the album at all. The working title was *Ugh* since it was the most difficult song for the girls (they were all under 18 when they wrote this album) to finish. They wrote 20 different versions of this song. Two versions became two other songs on this album. Songs *The One* & *The Sacrifice* were earlier drafts of *Ugh.* When it came to to naming the song. They kept it *Ugh.* *The Stalker:* The ladies very, very rarely plays *The Stalker* live anymore. Like never. Dany changed one word live. During the piano intro. The last (lyric) line is *"You are mine".* On the studio allbum. The last line (lyric) on the piano outro is *"You are mine".* But Dany changed *Are* to *Were* so the line (llyric) is *"You were mine".* During the Lunario CDMX show (video). When Dany was singing. There was a point where she sang certains words (around 4 or 5 times) she screamed these words. Indicating she was stabbing her lover to death. Each scream was a downward thrust. *Lunario vs Ford Didi concert video:* Ford Didi show is much better since The Warning got much better playing the songs of *Queen of the Murder Scene* live. Since the girls had shows in between these concerts. But the Lunario show played the full album in chronological order (plus songs from *XXI Century Blood* album after *Dust to Dust* & each chapter (each chapter contained 3 songs) plus the encore *(Survive).* At the Ford Didi show. The *QotMS* album is played in full. But not in chronological order.
Ashlena it I thought your reaction was fantastic very well thought out I thought you did your homework you gave him your honest opinion doesn’t mean do I agree or disagree but you were sincere and that’s the most important part. Yes, I could not agree with you more queen of the murder scene is definitely made for Broadway. Thank you so much, Ashlena
For as powerful as Crimson Queen is, I believe the performance of this song at their Foro Didi show June 14, 2019 is un matched in how much is highlights Dany’s absolute ability as a vocalist and performer. Please do yourself a favor and watch it. This link is for the entire Foro Didi performance, Crimson Queen starts at timestamp 10:43 ….. th-cam.com/video/yV8gpIrIR9s/w-d-xo.htmlsi=mVlRIksA1RysrMkN LONG LIVE THE VILLARREAL SISTERS!
Those of us in TWA have said for years this concept album, which is another thing almost unheard of for such young artists, should be made into a broadway musical!!
The lyrics in Dust to Dust and The End (Pau's lead) match ("start again") and could be interpreted as the words of the protagonist as a ghost, telling her story of love, madnness and death, from obsession to murder, and the lost of her sanity. In the final chapter the Grim Riper takes her, and she seem to be gone, but ultimately is fated to replay her story each time we hear the album. I still can't figure how they did it. True musical geniuses ❤❤❤
I’m happy to see your reaction Ash! IMO, the Queen is talking to a dead dude at the end of Stalker(I am yours and you are MINE). Coupled with Red hands being the next song and she is talking to her alter ego now. The struggle begins for control of her!! Now on to the rest of the album!!😊 Red Hand my favorite🔥🔥
I have to agree with the above comment the live version of any Warning performance is something that when you see them play live you can feel their passion , determination and straight up power in Paulina,s ability to steal a show ,Ales ability to lay down a solid bass line and Daniellas ability to lead and grab the crowd and not let go . There an awesome band in the studio or on stage they just rule that's all you can say they have a connection only a sister act would have . Awesome 🤘🇨🇱🤘
Such a masterpiece of dark storytelling put to great music. This is madness slipping in to the depths of darkness and multiple personalities. The murder of her unrequited love was just the beginning.
Genius misled you. In the intro to Stalker the Queen is confessing her feelings to her obsession, who she seems to have kidnapped. It doesnt go well, and in the outro she is singing to his corpse. If the Queen was crazy before, commiting murder doesnt help. In Red Hands she realizes what shes done and is horrified. The Sacrifice and Sinister Smiles are an internal dialogue as the violent, evil side of her mind comes forward and offers to take control from the good part of her that can't handle the guilt. That good part resists, but ultimately loses. The evil side takes control until Hunter, where it is defeated (either by another side of the Queen or by Death itself). In the final song, the Queen's good side reemerges to say goodbye to the world.
Even if their album is of good quality, seeing them perform live in Lunario is better. I recomend reaction to that concert (complet if you want to listen to songs of XXI Century Blood too) to fully appreciate the performance. Also, the images behind them when they were performing were awesome and help to the story. By the way, the Queen murder the object of her obsession in Stalker and she is talking to the corpse. Dany represents the personañity of the Queen and Pau the original personality of the girl through the album. From Red Hands and forward the girl is talking to herself in a battle of personalities por domination of the body of the girl to commit suicide.. In Hunter is Death talking to the Queen.
Now that you have listened to the entire album, I would recommend to watch the 3 VLOGs that they made discussing this album.

Yes, the girls explain just what is going on.
I concur. BUT.....She should react to them. I want to see Ashlena's reaction to their explanation of HUNTER!!!
Will do!
I'd add to that the video of Dull Knives for De(Tour) from The Warning Cave! Online concert they took part in during the pandemic as a fundraiser with a bunch of different artists. This was when Lzzy Hale of Halestorm first saw them and decided to invite them on tour with her when those started up again (and they did during a good part of 2022, with Lzzy eventually gifting Dany the Explorer that she uses for Enter Sandman and QOTMS)

Also "Escape The Mind" was their first EP. It was released two years before XXICB and contained 6 tracks. It's well worth the listen.
Red hands: she is talking to herself, bad side versus good.
The mistake ? She killed him in the last verse of stalker. She was singing to the corpse at the end.
live performances shows Danys passion
Dany gets so deep in character it us crazy good.
Amazing!
@dough1793 - I love stories like yours!!! Especially because the sisters have said as much about the way they were received at gigs...no one gave them respect..."what are you girls going to do?" and then the audience, the other male bands attitudes change once they hear The Warning!! 🤘❤🖖❤🤙
The mistake was her killing him at the end of Stalker.
@@lobodanx3 Would you happen to have links for those? I don't think I've seen either of them, so you've got me curious! Thanks!
Paulina was a fairly
privileged 12-13 year old when she wrote a song from the viewpoint of a washed-up
junkie begging the world to hate her and to save her at the same time.
A lot of old loadies like myself still can't wrap our heads around how she looked inside
our souls.
It's a masterpiece ❤
Yep. "You're 13. Now, go celebrate by writing a bass line for a thirteen-song concept album." Uh huh.

I AGREE
I’m a 67 yo rocker and feel the same way !
omg, what a gem of an album
The Lunario Show, its iconic
YES!
One word: Masterpiece. Love this album. Dani goes into full Queen character in the live performance at Lunario and makes the songs even more impactful. Thanks Ash. 🤘😎❤️⚠️
This album needs to triple platinum!
Love it!
Amazing breakdown!!
Dang, I'd love to read those discussions in 2018. I think you're ultimately right, but I hadn't heard the album explained that way before.
Lunario sounds better and the way they portrayed themselves fit the concept better🇲🇽❤️🎉🎸😀🎆🎹👍🙏😂🌍🌎🥁🌏⚠️⚠️⚠️🌌🎇🕯️⚡⚡💥🔥
Es mejor el de El Lunario, y también porque fué su presentación.
I agree with Lunario. Technically Metropolitan is musically better for the 2 they have released, but Lunario captures the passion of the moment better.
Lunario may not be the best quality sound wise but overall performance is a must see.
Lunario is incredible because of how Dany immerses herself in the story. Major chill bumps during the whole thing.
I love this album! If you like concept albums listen to Operation Mindcrime by Queensryche. It's pretty damn spectacular in its own right.

I think a hybrid film and animation a la The Wall would work fantastically for this.
@@devynbarat7777 yes. That would work great as well.🤘

Best concept album I ever listened to.
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! 🤘😎🤘
Ugh us my favorite song in the albums 😎
Psychotic is cheerleader punk at its best , a fan favorite
D2D !!Always a great song...No matter how many years they tour this song needs to stay on the setlist,IMO!!

You presented the album in the best way I have witnessed yet. 🎯
So glad that you released the whole thing for all of us to see and hear. 🎉
I originally was hoping for a live version but I actually preferred it this way with your contributions.
I always enjoy listening to this album straight through. Awesome you made a reaction video for it.
Great Album Review Ashlena!!!
It's a brilliant work of art for sure... Someday it will get it's just due as a Broadway Musical!!!
Ah man I can’t wait
Me too. Many, many times.
I love this album your reaction made me love it even more!
Aww thank you!!
She killed him at the end of stalker. When she got quiet at the end saying look at me my dear, she was talking to his corpse. Red Hands never fade was her conscience asking for forgiveness.
Ale's bass lines and precision timing is beyond her age on QotMS. She's 13 here.
Good review! Some great songs that they wrote at such a young age..! Amazing!🤘🤘🤘
The reasons that you didn’t hear the whispers in hunter is because live they have changed from whispers into a chant to scream from pau
I found this to be the best full album reaction I've seen. This is my favorite album of there's. Album is good ,but there so much better sounding live. I'm sending this reaction to several people to watch. Its a great introduction to the Warning. Thank you!
That is so nice thank you 🥹
When Pau brought the concept to her sisters, Dany was like "ok, but why so much blood?". Lol.
Hunter live at teatro is sooooo good
Just saw them a week ago and dying to see them again 😬
Excellent reaction, Ashlena!! Queen of the Murder Scene is a brilliant piece of art! I'm SO looking forward to the live stream for the Lunario Concert. It's an amazing musical event that not only has the entire QOTMS album but also the best songs from XXI Century Blood. It will give you chills all over your body throughout! If there are technical difficulties, reschedule the live stream. This is the show that said to the world, Hello! We're here!!!
QOTMS title track one of Dany's best performances IMO!!
Love this album . These girls are badass. Love your reactions.
Thanks so much!
Thank you I never got to listen to the whole album straight through this was great. I have heard all the songs though and look forward to to you maybe doing the Lunario show which plays this album from start to finish which I have not done yet. Still a newbie too. 😃 🤘🤘
Warning newbs 🤘🏽
You got the gist of each song in Chapter one. Dust to Dust is set at a funeral (The Queens's funeral foreshadowed?)
In Stalker, she has her love trapped and probably tied up and locked in a room or shack. By the end of the song, she has done the deed and is singing the last lines over his corpse. (Not my opinion. This is from Pau explaining the song in a vlog post)
Hence, the next song, Red Hand Never Fade, is her asking herself "what have I done", basically. But, she is singing this to his corpse. The "mistake" that you are asking about is the fact that she killed him. LOL
The rest of the album is her struggling with her inner demons and falling into psychoses.
(At this point maybe she has turned the one murder, early on in to a killing spree)
In PSYCHOTIC she is so crazy she has cheerleaders in head egging her on. LOL. She is brazenly welcoming all comers to take her on for the title of QOTMS! This is known to TWA as the Cheerleader Punk song. hahaha
Hunter, is sung from the perspective of The Grim Reaper that is coming after The Queen to regain his throne.
The End is she dying and saying it is too late for regret. She owns up to what she has become on her deathbed. We don't know if it's suicide or being caught or hunted down by The Grim Reaper. In the song, she invites you to "Start over Again" and that is your cue to start the album over again (at her funeral? hmmmm)
An absolute GENIUS album written and performed by teenagers.
They just named it Ugh because that's how they felt when they would go back to work on it.
@@oldmanyeni1663 Yes, I know. She was so lucky to see Ale sing lead. I have seen them 4 times, but have never seen Ale sing lead. But, I don't want to wish ill on Dany either.
Paulina's pauerful haunting and yet beautiful raspy voice in The End .And one of Danys best riffs in this amazing song.
so young to have written this album... soooo good, i like this album over the other two... so epic... r0ck 0n... \m/
Love this album. Sort of dark, but a master piece. Just great music. I agree would make an awesome musical/ play. There was some brief talk of making an anime of the album.
Excellent reaction to QOTMS! Saludos afectuosos desde California!
One of the best concept albums ever, right there with Pink Floyd Animals.
2nd time listening was just as good as the first time yesterday.
The end, was Paulina btw (except for the last whale, which was Dany).
Last word was: start again ! Which it does with Dust to Dust.
btw Hunter is Mony's(mama) favorite song of the Warning so far. ps it is the grim reaper hunting her not her evil side per the girls in vlog(it may be patreon only but You may be able to view on there.)
😉
Yes but... the reaper could still be just another representative of her split personality
Thank you Ashlena. Can’t wait for live. Yes, ❤Lunario CDMX.
Oooo I’ll have to listen again!

Hahahahaha
As I stated before a couple of times in other reactions, not just Broadway, but directed by Tim Burton, who else could it be? Oh! And the New York Philharmonic Orchestra backing them (just a little detail missing🤭)
That would be insane

*Fun Facts Tibits:*
*Ugh:* The song title has nothing to do with the album at all. They kept it *Ugh.*
*The Stalker:* The ladies very, very rarely plays *The Stalker* live anymore.
But the Lunario show played the full album in chronological order (plus songs from *XXI Century Blood* album after *Dust to Dust* & each chapter (each chapter contained 3 songs) plus the encore *(Survive).*
At the Ford Didi show. The *QotMS* album is played in full. But not in chronological order.
Thanks for this info!!

LONG LIVE THE VILLARREAL SISTERS!
QOTMS So badass amazing!!And they were so young when they wrote this material !!
I never listen to random songs off this album. It's always from start to finish. A great story.
Nice reaction to the Best álbum ever, we miss sinister miles in concerts!
Hunter is actually sung from the perspective of the Grim Reaper.
😳 that makes total sense
No matter where they played it they did and always do an awesome job.
