    Milos is rumored to be the next luxury destination in Greek tourism but it's not too late to grab a high-end holiday at a reasonable price. Outstanding beaches, crystal clear water and gorgeous sunsets are just some of the reasons why Milos should appear on your itinerary.

    Exquisite video on Milos. As a Greek who has visited for a quite number of days the island I believe that across Adamantas to the opposite side is the best beach of the island. There is the village and Beach of Emporeio which is sandy into the sea with very few swimmers or even none and propably it’s the longest on the island. It’s only disadvantage is that there is only one restaurant-taverna where the sea literally wets your feet from time to time. But it’s cuisine will compensate you to the fullest and it’s actually cheap If I remember correctly. Be very aware though where to park your car because the place is too sandy and you can get stuck.

      @@devikaphukan_official i Guess it's Emporeio since the place is named that.

    • @AndreasBelivanakis

      @Rousseau4469 You are obviously confusing Achivadolimni, one of the longest beaches of Milos, directly across the bay from Adamas, the seaport of Milos, with Embourios, which is a small settlement also inside the bay of Milos but on west side, quite far from Achivadolimni. Embourios does not have a nice beach even remotely close to the settlement, but the taverna by the same name is definitely worth it. :).

    • @AndreasBelivanakis
      @AndreasBelivanakis ปีที่แล้ว

      Achivadolimni. Completely different from Embourios. @@Rousseau4469

    Really enjoy your helpful and inspiring videos, but please make clear upfront and perhaps in the description what time of year you were there, as it’s important on numerous fronts, including weather, sea temps, crowds and pricing.

    Thanks for this video! Planning a trip to Milos this summer so this was a lot of helpful info. Few questions if you don’t mind…1) was your US driver license sufficient for the rental? 2) after driving the car you got, were you happy with it overall? 3) how was parking during your trip to Milos, ever have any issues leaving your car places? Thanks!

    I've always wanted to visit Milos but it isn't handicapped accessible.

    • @AndreasBelivanakis
      @AndreasBelivanakis ปีที่แล้ว

      No more or less than any other island in the Cyclades. One could argue Milos is a lot more accessible than Santorini or other islands.

    Plaka town is exactly like mykonos town. If you see one, you see them both

    • @AndreasBelivanakis
      @AndreasBelivanakis ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely not!. The only similarity is cobblestone narrow alleys, a trademark of Cycladic towns. Plaka in Milos could not be any more different than Mykonos town, when it comes to sunset, history, elbow room, and last but not least, affordability.

    If you had to choose one Greek island to go to which one would you chose? Paros or Milos or???

    • @IslandHopperTV
      @IslandHopperTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Milos has a lot but Santorini still has the ahh factor. Mykonos has the beach clubs. Milos is good though. Paros is very laid back. Its easier to island hop from Paros than it is from Milos. Milos is far west.

    • @AndreasBelivanakis
      @AndreasBelivanakis ปีที่แล้ว

      Very easy to visit Kimolos and Polyaigos from Milos. Also, Milos is on the western Cyclades route, so close to Kythns, Serifos, Sifnos as well as Folegandros, Sikinos, Ios and Santorini by ferry. Using the intercycladic fast ferries you can hop to/from Milos and other islands such as Paros, Naxos and Mykonos, even Amorgos, in only 1-2 hours. @@IslandHopperTV

    Seems a lot more crowded than I thought Milos would be. Also disappointed about the water temperature. Finally, $135 (w insurance) a day for a car??!! Who can afford that? It's as much as a hotel room .
    Now I'm reconsidering going

    • @AndreasBelivanakis
      @AndreasBelivanakis ปีที่แล้ว +1

      He did mention he visited in the high season, hence the crowds. But Milos is perhaps the only popular island where, even in the high season, you can still find several secluded beaches to visit, away from crowds, especially on the west and east parts of the island (not shown in the video). Compared to Mykonos and Santorini, Milos is a bargain. Also, he happened on a windy streak. Water temps tend to drop when it is windy, but in that respect Milos is no different than other Cycladic islands. The landscape of Milos, however, is so unique and special, you'll miss out if you skip the island.

    No need to pronounce the word "Paralia". It means "Beach" so it is redundant.
