I was lucky enough to be there on the 1st of 2 nights, simply the best gig I have ever witnessed.
The orchestral arrangements were created in the UK, and were sent across to Alter Bridge to approve of, and they only rehearsed once before doing the shows.
That's really cool! The amount of work that must have gone into into the orchestration for one (2x) show must have been huge.

This is a shining example of many other great things about AlterBridge…. Myles Kennedy has this amazing, one of a kind vocal range with impeccable control. And Mark Tremonti’s baritone is also quite strong, and his harmonies with Myles are sublime! (Never mind the fact that Mark is an amazingly great guitar player, with a modern metal flair, while Myles is a very strong guitar player in his own right, with a more bluesy, classic rock vibe. Those styles mix so well also!)

Kind of… he played lead in his previous band Mayfield Four, but it was more grunge style without technical guitar solos for the most part. He was guitar for his previous bands too, and was a guitar teacher as a side gig between shows. Tremonti heard some technical jazz guitar coming from Myles’ room one night, and was surprised to see it was actually Myles playing the intricate music. Mark immediately said that there’s no way they aren’t gonna take advantage of his guitar skills starting on their second album ‘Blackbird’. Myles just assumed he was brought on to be a vocalist only and didn’t presume to push his skills onto the band - so in that respect, you could say he was hiding it. But it was likely more so that he didn’t want to step on any toes or ‘rock the boat’….not realizing that Mark is also a good guy not defensive about his standing as the ‘lead guitarist’. They obviously respect each other and are each other’s greatest supporters, who only want what’s best for their band and each other.
The rest is history, and they’ve been a two guitar band since👍🎸😎
