Don't get me wrong, that was a great Galway hurling team that year. But Galway had only two matches in those days to win the All-Ireland. Because at least the offaly hurlers of 1981 and Clare of 1995 had competitive matches before getting to the semi-final. Plus even Antrim hurlers had Competitive matches in Ulster sometimes.
